- Q: I have a cream couch with thin stripes color stripes are tan, beige Brown... Would this rug go good infront of it?! I plan to get a palm plant to put at the end of the couch- its a 2 piece sectional really nice!!!But im into more natural nuetral colors... for our living room!
- There would be too much of cream/beige color. Your carpet should be brighter green or burgundy or use an almost white carpet.
- Q: can someone give me an estimate on replacing carpet with wood 10ft by 10ft =100sq.ft.
- Ripping out the old carpet will cost less than 50$ if its a standard pad/carpet combo. Often for a job that size you can get an installer to toss that in as part of the job but don t assume so. Easy enough to do yourself . Carpet disposal is always a problem too. Check on whats available in your area , through a disposal company , your local landfill or recycling center. Wood installation does go from 3/ 3.5$ a s/f depending on the rate in your area. As far as the wood itself, it can go from 3 $ a s/f for basic 2 1/4 oak to as high as 20 $ a s/f for exotic woods. So your in the ball park or 7$ a s/f ( and up) ..This won t include any unseen floor prep. This is always a good idea to pull the carpet up yourself and inspect the floor. If alls ok then the wood can be dropped off, opened and acclimated to the room and be ready to go for installation. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar .

- First, the 140 sq meters of floor can be cateogrized into three categories: 1 - area covered by exactly one rug 2 - area covered by exactly two rugs 3 - area covered by exactly three rugs. If the combined area of the three rugs is 200 sq meters, and you are only covering 140 sq meters of floor, then 200 - 140 = 60 sq meters must be overlapped (meaning it is covered by either 2 or three rugs). Now since you say that 24 sq meters is covered by exactly two rugs, that means that the area covered by three rugs is 60 - 24 sq meters = 36 sq meters covered by three rugs. Hope this helps.
- Q: For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
- My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. - At Target, the smallest area rugs are usually 5 x 7 ft, and the price starts at around $100. An 8 x 11 ft is around 3 times more. Even a runner (2 x 7 ft) will run a little over $70. You may be able to find a few that are cheap, but you get what you pay for. As to the rug falling apart, that is a matter of regular vacuuming. Grit that tracks in on the bottom of your shoes and gets into your carpet abraids the rug fibers, eventually causing them to break.

- Black is about the only color that actually covers any other color. Just read and follow the directions and instructions and wear protective gear like respirator mask. You might find a full carpet that color that would be easier.

- That depends on the carpet and the dirt build up - if moderately dirty use a regular carpet spray type cleaner - but if really dirty rent a cleaner and use Folex a deep cleaning agent that cleans and deodorizes it also gets rid of pet stains/odor. If by regular soap you mean dish or clothes type never use that it is to sudsy and will actually trap dirt in the fibers. Good Luck
