- TAKE HIM TO A VET ASAP -- it could be a urinary blockage (or a urinary tract infection on its way to causing a blockage) and if if is, it can kill him VERY QUICKLY!!! - it all depends on your taste in carpet. if you like flat carpets, like berber, these are more easy to vaccume cause the pile is flat. in this case, get the thicker padding. but if you love luxury shags and dont have kids or pets to get dirt all stuck in the fibers, the thinner pad is for you. in other words, your lifestyle and your taste should be your guide.

- You mark and cut the rug from the backside. Use a razor-knifem or drywall knife which is razor sharp. It won't fray if the rug is fitted tight against the wall. You can just cut it and leave it or you can put a glue on it like carpenters white glue and let it dry out. It dries clear. Make sure all your cuts are complete, including the pink carpet material.

- For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/Gmwh7 I'd try to get to the store and get non-acetone nail polish remover. The acetone can melt the fibers in the carpet leaving you a bare spot instead of a blue one. I've heard lighter fluid, alcohol and sugar/water kind of paste.....I think I'd go with the non-acetone remover if you can get ahold of some. Or if worse comes to worse.....go over it with blue nail polish....
