Q: Does anybody have a recipe for home made carpet cleaner for a steam cleaner? Thanks
What type of carpet you have? Wools/poly... Whats your machine hold 1/2 galon OR 2 ? 1/2 cup-1 cup vinegar if using soaps too tablespoon to 1/3 cup of tide/gain Lemon about 25 drops... Simple green 1/2 cup Hot water and vinegar gain is o.k. on some however use just a dab (seriouse here)for freshness unless you have lemon essentail oil handy.. Vinegar will leave the least amount of residue in the carpet and will slow down the resoiling process. So using vinegar and Hot water you can still add dabs of tide, gain, simple green. test a area is important.. I would not use a amonia recipe if you have cats or dogs
Q: There's some ash on the carpet. What can I do with it?
Or soak the old sheets with water, wring them off, place them on the carpet, and then beat with sticks, and the dust is absorbed on the damp cloth. I hope I can help you
Q: I have new carpet in my apartment. When I try to vacuum, it clogs my vacuum. Should I get a better vacuum or not vacuum at all?
Keep at it. The fuzz in the carpet will dissipate. If you can afford a new vacuum, go for it.
Q: My Condo is 624 sq.ft., and I plan to remodel, and remove old carpet flooring, and replace.
There are tons of price ranges for carpet out there. One of the main things that effects carpet price is the composition. The 2 main compositions are polyester and nylon. Polyester is the kind that seems to clog up my vaccum with thread residue. Polyester is inferior to nylon. It will not last as long as nylon, but you will pay less. All types of carpet, berber, cut piles, cutloops come in all price ranges. I, personally, don't prefer berber as I have cats that will take up the loops and it's super casual. If you go to one of the big box stores, you will be safe with a nylon in a $2.50/sqft range. It won't be top quality, but it won't be contractor-quality either. When you're searching for carpet (what a task!) you'll want to pay attention to the face weight as well. That is, essentially, how much a carpet weighs per sqft or sqyd (or, how much thread is it composed of). The higher the face weight, ordinarily the more resilient the carpet will be in the long haul. The best carpets have a face weight over 70 or so. The commerical or contractor grade carpets are usually in the 30's. Best of luck!
Q: i want to put in some new carpet in these two small rooms about 3x3 each how much around would it be? plus to be installed by someone
The standard price to install carpeting is about $3. 00-$4. 00/square foot. This only includes the installation of the carpet and not a carpet pad, which costs an extra $0. 50/square foot. Carpet installers will also remove old carpeting for about $0. 50/square foot. These would all be minimum prices and could increase depending on the type of carpet you wish to install ask at your local carpet store as they sometimes have a list of contractors that could do the work for you and this would give you a better idea ok,good luck.
Q: i have just bought a thoroughbred who has a very fine coat despite the fact it is winter, he lived out at his previous home but with 2 rugs on. i want to continue having him living out but with so many rugs out there and not having to rug previous horses i am a bit confused! do you have any brands you recomend? how many rugs do you think he will need?i live in england so it can get a bit cold in the winter, i want to rug him because i would rather he keep his nice thin coat and also he is sued to being rugged and what with moving home and meeting all the new horses, not having a rug on might be a bit of a shock to the system!
I would definitely say that Weatherbeeta are the best brand for affordable but comfortable and hard wearing rugs. I've had my weatherbeeta rugs for two years and only had them washed, not reproofed even though one of my horses is a rug wrecker. I have a TB myself and I know how much of a pain it is to rug them! They are very prone to chills and don't really grow an incredibly fluffy coat. Here in scotland its already reached only 4 degrees at night and my hands are frozen, and plus the wind chill makes it a very cold night. My boys are both in mediumweights without necks at the moment at night and lightweights during the day. However this is also because they are getting clipped next week and I want to prepare them for that and not let them get too soft beforehand! For my TB I have this wardrobe - 1 x Lightweight (Mark Todd brand - very good durable, I would say the best out there) 2 x Mediumweight with and without a neck (both Weatherbeeta) 2 x Heavyweight with and without a neck (Mark Todd and Rambo - very good but very expensive brand) The two of the mediumweight / heavyweights mean that in the midst of winter when it gets absolutely FREEZING I can double rug, putting a mediumweight over a heavyweight or vice versa. I also have stable rugs but that depends on whether you are stabling them or not.
Q: Life span is 5 years on this bright white carpet. They lived here 2 years before us, and didnt replace the carpets before we moved in, and we lived here for 2 years.. Meaning the carpet is currently 4 years old out of the 5year life span. We did normal wear and tear, and we did make a few spots but nothing huge or horribly bad. Anyways, they want us to pay for the whole carpet cost. Is that right? Were in minnesota
You are only ever responsible for the remaining life of the carpet if you destroyed it. Assuming the life was 5 years, which is up for debate apparently, then you could be held responsible for 1/5 the cost to replace it with a similar type carpet. Under no circumstance would you be responsible for the full replacement value.
Q: What's the fire rating of nylon carpet?
Nylon carpet is a new carpet made of nylon as raw material and processed by mechanism. Nylon carpet has a good dust resistance, while giving carpet fullness, attractive appearance, so that the vision is often as new. The application of chemical dustproof coating technology makes carpet have higher anti fouling ability, and can make carpet surface brighter and cleaner.
Q: i need to know where to find vintage rugs.
Vintage rugs are most easily defined as those rugs or carpets produced from the 1920s through the 1970s. They represent the dramatic changes that took place in the arts following the First World War. Vintage rugs often showcase experimentation and innovation. For example, rugs produced in China during this period were influenced by the Art Deco rugs first produced in France.
Q: So in one room of my house, the carpet is ****** up. Long story short bleach stains were better than blood stains, so one corner is all discolored while other areas have Kool Aid stains or just dirty. The room is roughly 15'x15', so around 225 sqft. In your opinion how much am I looking at if I want to replace it altogether? Thanks
You can buy carpet for under $1 a square foot. It takes about $2 a square foot to get quality carpet. Try to find it on sale. Somewhere in between $1-2 is alright - especially on sale. $3 buys very nice carpeting. Carpet comes in 15' width. It's not the most popular width, but it is out there. You should go online to Lowes or Home Depot and search carpet. Use the filter to select 15' width. If you live in the Midwest, Menards would have better deals on carpet.
