Q: I'm getting new carpet installed in a home I'm selling. It's not a high end home, just a 1700 sq foot house that I'll list for $400k. The carpet the carpetman recommended to me is a shaw 18 oz face weight, 48 total weight carpet. To go along with it is 7/16quot; 6lb padding. Is this good enough? Will it look and feel nice enough for the people who come to see the house?: The basic weight of the carpet and the padding suggested is a good combo. The pad and thickness is above the standard to cover any carpet warranties. 7/16ths is the thickness carpet manufacturers recommend and the least padding you can have ( to cover warranties) is 5 1/2#. Sounds like a decent carpet but w/o seeing the warranties offered Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

Q: i sold a rug in craiglist for $500 now shes saying the rug smell what should i do??: Did you smoke or have pets in your home? Unless you misrepresented the rug to the buyer in some way, such as not telling her the rug was the cat's bathroom or not telling her the rug had been flooded with dog urine, you are not obligated to do a thing. Often, and I really mean often, some people will experience buyer's remorse and want their money back. If you know the rug was in good condition and you represented it as such, don't give the money back. They might take you to court, but again they will have to prove you lied about the rug when you sold it to them. This aggravation is part of doing business.

Q: I am just wondering in the 30's 40'5 and 50's how they cleaned carpets in there house. I know at some point the vacuum cleaner was invented but for actual carpet cleaning (with a carpet cleaner) how did they clean the carpet. Q: my son had his carpets cleaned and now his baby has hives. professional carpet cleaners are strong and he had them add a deodorizer because of the baby being sick and vomiting on the carpet. they had them done twice within a few weeks and now the upstairs person is saying she smells a chemical ordor and the baby sits on the floor and has hives. the apartment is a two story house and their bottom apartment holds moisture. does anyone know how they can rinse some of the chemical off?: call the carpet cleaners and ask them to come back with just a rinse

Q: My kids were not supposed to have drinks in the living room but of course they did and one of them spilled orange soda on my brand new 300$ rug. And of course being kids instead of coming and telling me right away they tried to clean it up with water and then hid it and I did not find it until this morning. So I have soaked it in this carpet spray cleaner and cleaned it with my bissel cleaner 3 times and it still remains! Please help me. Q: what is the grade of the carpet after fire retardant treatment?: it mainly depends on what the fire inspector say. the more wool the carpet contains, the better the flame retardant effect is, of course. Other materials will also be flame retardant

Q: in my room i have a large blue shaggy rug, the shaggy bits are about 2-3cm long.I have a quot;vax matchquot; carpet cleaning machine and carpet shampoo, will it work?or wil the shaggy bits get caught up and break the machine?: ALWAYS contact the manufacturer of your shag carpet before attempting to vacuum it. Ask them specifically what type of vacuum they recommend for your specific carpet. In some cases a vacuum with a beater bar can damage the carpet and/or vacuum. Suction only vacuums can tear the threads right out of the carpet in some cases. b

Q: I keep a super clean litter box, sometimes she goes in it sometimes she doesn't. The bath rug is literally a foot away from her litter box. She's 1yrs old,fixed and is good behaved except for that. Ive washed the rugs, got new ones, tried different material rugs, everything... the rugs have all had rubber backing.
