- Q: On a motocross bike, the FRONT brake supplies how much of the potential stopping power?
- lentils especially the pink ones
- Q: I have not ride a car before, I recently bought a motorcycle ride for 2 months, on the brake system, I have two questions, please master doubt: 1, why pedal motorcycle brake system design in the right hand instead of the left hand? Because the right hand has been holding the grip of the throttle work, my hands and feet is not flexible, the last time when the sudden brake my right hand pull the brakes, did not react at the same time to loose ...
- It is recommended that you first find empty familiar with the vehicle performance habits and then on the road so safe.
- Q: I am 23 and I still don‘t have a car. With school and everything else I really can‘t afford car insurance, gas and car payments so I decided to try something with two wheels. I looked into scooters for a while and came up with a Yamaha Vino 125 as a good option. While at the dealership I came across the Virago 250 and I‘m wondering if its a better idea to get a small motorcycle instead of a big scooter. I‘m not really into the sport bikes.Any ideas? Dose the Virago seem like a good idea for someone just wanting to get around town a little?
- Always choose a motorcycle over a scooter when you have a choice. Motorcycles have better suspension and won't get thrown around like scooters. Motorcycles are heavier and wont get blown around like scooters. Motorcycles have stronger brakes and will stop faster in panic situations. Motorcycles have more power and better acceleration to veer away from potential accidents. Motorcycles have larger diameter wheels and won't get swallowed up by pot-holes and won't bounce up in the air when hitting a bump. A motorcycle's engine will last longer than a scooter. Motorcycles are safer to ride in the rain. Don't get me wrong, scooters are dependable, get a little better gas mileage, cost less to repair, easier to push home when they break LOL and are fun to ride. But when given a choice, get a motorcycle.
- Q: anyone know how to burnout on a sports bike?
- Hold the front brake put your weight over the front tire making sure your feet are firmly planted no the ground and your holding the bike between your legs rev the engine and let out on the clutch slowly listen to the engine if the Rom's drop to low it will stall so keep your Rom's up this should only be done on a sport bike or a dirt bike if you have a cruiser do the same but put the front tire against a wall as these bikes are a lot heavier and will usually push the front tire.
- Q: I‘m new to ridding and have only owned a motorcycle for over a month now and been using a combination of engine braking and normal braking. I feel more comfortable normal braking and just dropping a gear or 2 if i suddenly need to pick up speed. But what is mechanically better for a motorcycle engine braking or regular braking? Which is better in the long run? Is it bad for the engine? because I would rather just buy brake pads more often if that‘s the case.P.S. The topic is about riding an engine that is already way past the break in point.
- the answer to the question: Is engine braking bad for the engine? Has so many mixed answers! I think engine braking is bad! Why, cause I rode a 650cc bmw bike that I used to engine brake every chance I got and within a few months the engine became whishy and feeble sounding rather then solid and bassy. I traded it for a cheapo 5 speed 325i and practiced engine braking on the car too and once again within a few months the engine sounded and even performed weaker within a few months. I spent the money to get to this conclusion, trust me on this. Holding in the clutch on a bike and braking rather then slamming wheel speed back into the engine is much healthier for the engine. Sure it wears the clutch and brake a bit more, but better that then the heart of the motorcycle, the engine. Hope this helps )
- Q: After my Honda VT750 1998 fell down while riding, it started making noise somewhere around the front wheel; noise like two hard pieces are scratching each other. At the beginning the noise happened only when the front brake was applied, but now it happens when riding. I also feel weak knocking on the front brake lever. The pace of the knocking becomes faster as the speed of the bike slower. The brake disc was hot after a ride in which I used the brake. What is the problem and solutions? I'd appreciate answers not like take it to a shop. Thank you.
- The piston cups are frozen because of the fact there is oxidation at the back of the seals and o-rings that are making them extra healthful too tight.attempt to pry the pads removed from the rotor with a screwdriver (you're able to ought to open the bleeder). while the save had previous motorcycles with frozen brakes we would faucet the caliper with a super ball peen hammer. that could tension the piston cups in adequate to bypass the motorcycle. i do no longer likely propose this methodology, different than as a final motel, because of the flair for injury.
- Q: Any information on motorcycle statistics is helpful, same with cars, thanks!
- Motorcycle fatalities have doubled in the last nine years. See this statement in the second URL below. Like other road users who are urged to protect themselves from injury or death by wearing safety belts, driving unimpaired, and observing traffic rules, many motorcycle deaths could be prevented if motorcyclists would take responsibility for ensuring they have done everything possible to make the ride safe by taking operator training, wearing protective gear, and riding sober. Law or not, not wearing a helmet and other safety gear in not be a responsible operator of a motor vehicle. My riding jacket and boots helped to protect my shoulder, arm, and toes in my one and only road crash. My knee is still healing from a case of road rash due to not wearing riding pants. That was about 3-1/2 weeks ago. See third URL below for this statement. In 2006 motorcycle helmets saved 1,658 lives. NHTSA says that if all motorcyclists had worn helmets, 752 more lives would have been saved. Helmets are estimated to be 37 percent effective in preventing fatal injuries. Hope this will useful to you. Max
