Q: ok so im wondering if there is a water pump out there i can buy that automatically turns on when i turn the tap on. i looking for something thats strong enough to pump enough water to more than one taps at a time i.e kitchen tap, bathroom etc.
There are plenty of water pumps in the market , and the pump switch is connected to the water flow to operate the pump when the water flow and switch off when there is no flow
Q: I recently took my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix in for an oil change, and was told that my water pump has burst. I knew something happened the previous night because all of a sudden my car was overheating and when I opened the hood there was water everywhere, Anyways I am currently a single mom, working temp jobs while I look for something permanent. I can not afford the 350.00 to get it fixed. If I continue to drive the car am I looking at serious damage, He showed me how to fill the water tank (or whatever) so that the car will not be empty, But he says I need to get it fixed soon
I will try to put this simply. It is very serious. Water cools your engine and without the pump to circulate it, your engine will overheat and very quickly damage itself. Even if you add water constantly, it is not being circulated, your engine will overheat and the new water you will put in will probably instantly boil and rush up into your face. My advice. Don't drive it until you can get it fixed. Sorry, I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I am concerned for your safety and I don't want you to wreck your engine and you will if you keep driving it. The damage you can do is like this. The engine overheats and seizes up. This means that the engine parts, pistons and rings have expanded beyond design limits. They break inside and wreak havoc. The crankshaft and big end bearings can seize also. If all this happens, you are looking at a reconditioned engine. Fix your pump. It's cheaper
Q: My deep water pump buzzes when it pumps or something it just happen this morning so whats wrong with it
If it's not pumping water then something is definitely wrong. It may be clogged, if it's buzzing. It could also be that the well is running dry, although this is EXTREMELY rare. If you think you're up to it, open the well head and yank that bad boy to the surface and check it out. This is a long and messy process, and usually best left to the professionals. But really, it's not that hard to replace a deep well pump. just clip the water line, replace with new clamps on the top of the new pump, connect and seal the wiring, and put a few cholorine tabs in the hole, to re-sanitize it after opening, and you're good to go. don't forget to turn off the breaker first HA HA!
Q: When did the pump start?
The promotion of water is very important to human life and production. There are various ancient water appliances, such as Egypt's chain pump (seventeenth Century BC), China shadoof (seventeenth Century BC), Burton (Eleventh Century BC) and water (first Century ad). The famous spiral rods invented by Archimedes in the third Century BC can lift water to a few meters in a steady and continuous way, and the principle is still used by modern screw pumps. In 200 BC, the ancient Greek fire pump craftsmen invented by Kurt Siby Lucius is a kind of piston pump has the most original, the main components of a typical piston pump piston pump, but only after the steam engine was developed rapidly.1840~1850 years, the United States invented Worthington pump cylinder and steam cylinder opposite, the direct impact of the piston pump, marking the formation of modern piston pumps. Nineteenth Century was the climax of the development of piston pumps, which were already used in a variety of machines, such as water presses. However, with the rapid increase in water demand, from 1920s, the piston pumps with low speed and large flow were gradually replaced by high-speed centrifugal pumps and rotary pumps. But in the field of high pressure and small flow, reciprocating pump still occupies the main position, especially diaphragm pump and plunger pump have their own advantages and are used more and more.
Q: My 2000 Pontiac Sunfire has been overheating and I recently changed the thermostat thinking that was the problem. The new thermostat didn't help and the engine is still over heating. I am starting to think it might be the water pump. How can I tell for sure? When I changed the thermostat and refilled the coolant tank I left the cap off and started the car to work out the air. I was told I should see bubbles in the tank but nothing happened, I thought this might be a sign of a bad water pump. I think I will be able to change the water pump on my own I just want to know for sure if that is the problem.
Step 1 Open the car hood and locate the thermostat on the top of the radiator lid. Pull the thermostat and start the car. Watch the temperature gauge carefully. If the water pump is working properly, the engine should take a long time to warm up (if it ever does). With the thermostat removed, the coolant should circulate continuously, making it harder for the engine to warm up. If you cannot tell if the car is heating up slow or not, move to Step 2. Step 2 Turn the car off and locate the water pump and the water pump drive belt in the engine compartment. Use the wrench set to loosen the belt retaining bolt and pull the belt off of the pump. Spin the belt drive with your hands to see if it rolls smoothly and to determine if there is any movement or play in the driveshaft. If the pump seems in good working order, replace the belt, tighten the retaining screw back up, and move on to Step 3. Step 3 Locate the coolant drain plug on the bottom of the radiator and use the wrench set to remove it. Allow all of the coolant to drain out into a container and dispose of it. Replace the drain plug in the bottom of the radiator and then pour coolant into the radiator. Start the car up and watch the level of coolant carefully. If the water pump is working properly, the coolant level should drop quickly as the pump circulates coolant to other areas of the engine. Fill the radiator back up with coolant and watch it to drop again. If the coolant drops then your water pump is fine, however if the coolant drops very slowly or not at all it may be time for a new pump.
Q: My radiator light came on this morning i was running late for work so i topped it off with water (about twice a year the light comes on, it has only ever had to be topped off) and after about 20 minutes of driving it started to heat up, so i pulled over shut it offsomebody stopped checked the temp of the water in the reservoir, said it felt to only be about 100 degrees, but topped it off with more water. the gauge dropped right back down to being almost as cold as when you first drive it, but after about 2 miles it was right back up near the red line.I pulled over again there was steam coming off the engine. I stuck my finger in the water it felt warm, but nowhere near hot. I couldn't get it cool enough to finish driving to work. Does this sound like the water pump?If so, how long should this take a decent mechanic to replace? If not, what else could it be?
sounds like u have air trapped somewhere or a flow problem water pump not pumping or thermostat not opening do not keep driving it b/c further costly damage can occur this shouldn't take more than a day for a good mechanic
Q: About how to calculate the pump installation height?
See the design manual, town water, volume P312This formula is: NPSHA = HgHzhsZs > NPSHRAccording to the actual installation of NPSHA pump cavitation can provideThe pump NPSH provides NPSHR pump samplesAtmospheric pressure Hg pump installation siteHz liquid under certain temperature saturated steam pressure. The head loss of water pipe HsThe installation height of ZsIt is worth pointing out that, with regard to Hz, with temperature related, and some problems are not given temperature, and that value is also very small, in the calculation should be able to ignore (0 degrees C, 0.06mH2O).And atmospheric pressure, we usually use 10mH2O, in fact, and altitude also related. When the altitude is 0, it is 10.3
Q: Installation position of check valve for water pump
Check valves must be installed at the pump's exit and position before the outlet control valve for servicing the check valve.Jiang Yuanyuan 1985's statement has a problem:1. On the flow of water, because the fluid is continuous and incompressible, the water in any part of the pipe will not flow as long as it is cut off in any position in the pipe.2, self suction exhaust is formed within the pump in outlet pipe, check valve installed in the inlet, because the pressure is low, is not conducive to automatically open the check valve, and its resistance, easy to form a vacuum pump and cavitation.
Q: What does water flow mean?
The amount of water delivered by the pump during the unit time, that is, the flow of the pump. Generally, there are three kinds of time units, namely, seconds, minutes and hours. In our country, the unit of flow adopts the international metric units, liters, milliliters, cubic, thousand cubic meters, etc., and different units are used according to different usage environments.
Q: Recently my ford aerostar van started pouring water from the weephole of the waterpump and all my oil was just disappearing leaving just foam on the dipstick...we drained what oil was in it and there was antifreeze in the oil so we figured it was a blown head but it it possible for antifreeze to leak into the oil due to a bad waterpump?
sounds like both? the weep hole is a sign the bushing on water pump shaft is wore out so a new pump or a rebuils is necessary. the foam in oil is worrisome!!head gasket first !hopefully not a ring or piston problem? if you have an extremely high mileage van and can do so? dump it!!get another, cheaper in the long run?
