- Your best bet would be to go to your local retail outlet and test-drive the chairs they have there. Everybody is different and what works for one person may not work for another. I get lower back pain, too. I have found that pricey executive chairs tend to start hurting after only 45 minutes while I can sit in a cheap task chair for hours before getting sore. On the occasions I have to sit in a high-back executive chair I usually roll a jacket or towel up and put it behind my lower back. It helps.

- Q: My son recently participated in a regional honor band. The band consisted of 28 trumpets. They had to audition for placement. Placement ranged from 1st trumpet/1st to 7th chair, 2nd trumpet/1st to 7th chair, 3rd trumpet/1st to 7th chair and 4th trumpet/1st to 7th chair. Can anyone explain to me where he stood ability-wise within the group of 28? He was 1st trumpet/7th chair. Thank you.
- On Tuesday, Nov. 5, students from both Dexter High School and T.S. Hill Middle School, under the direction of Scott Rybolt and Jim Wade, traveled to Jackson, Mo. for the annual All District Band auditions. Our Dexter students performed extraordinarily well, said Rybolt, with 16 students from high school named to All District. Perhaps most noteworthy is that 17 students from the middle school level made the grade, which is the greatest number of students in the history of the school to be named to the All District Band. Only Jackson Schools had more members named to All District. Dexter High School, however, had the most students named to the All District Jazz Band. Students will now travel to Cape Girardeau to perform in the Southeast Missouri All-District Band Concert to be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Cape Central hHgh School. Serving as clinician at the event will be Gary Gackstatter of St. Louis Community College -- Meramec. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. Family and the community are encouraged to attend.
- Q: Lots of people are decorating chairs with stuff but I want to do something more creative, some people are also taking pictures with their chairs and stuff. You can do ANYTHING as long as it includes chair. Doesnt matter what kind of chair, just a chair. Ideas?
- thinking of chairs, i see black and white. some ideas come to mind....like a photo of a black metal chair with a red pillow on top, sitting on a black and white checker board floor. also a unique idea would be if you stacked wooden chairs and took a black a white photo of that, maybe by a window so that there is a pillar of light seeping through on one area of the chairs. haha sorry if that doesn't make sense. i'm an artist, so i can see things in my head but i don't exactly know how to explain them lol :)
- Q: well heres the story. My boyfriend and i are moving into an apartment together soon and his grandfather decided he was going to make us some chairs for our balcony. And though i am extremely greatful that he took the time to make them for us and that it was very nice of him, the chairs are bad. they are pretty much 2 pieces of wood and 4 sticks for legs. We cant tell him we dont want them even though we appreciate it because hes the type that gets really mad and offended if you dont accept a gift (and i guess i would be too) So what i am asking is...after a few weeks what can we tell him happened to where we cant keep them anymore? and like i said ia am greatfule that he made them but im afraid ill have to get a tetanis shot before i sit on them. what should we say?
- They're for your balcony, you don't have to look at them 'round the clock. I think putting some cushions on them and a coordinating flower pot or two would look nice on your balcony. You should appreciate them for the time and effort Grandpa put into them. I have a three-legged table that my Grandpa made a long time ago. It wouldn't be my first choice but it's my only heirloom from him.
- Q: Is there a certain age you have to be to get those chair massages that you find in the mall or at the chiropractor or something.Do those type of massages feel good?
- Erik, You can get a chair massage at any age., because you are fully clothed. As a massage therapist, I will tell you, each state has different regulations governing us as therapists. It's almost standard to have a same sex therapist if you are under 18, and if the minor or parent wants to, they are allowed in the room ( that's for traditional massage -lying on a table) my 6 yr old son, 10 13 year old girls love massage and we go get them frequently. Chair is nice, but nothing in comparison to a standard massage. The key is finding a therapist you feel comfortable with! Happy relaxing! Rachel

- Every chair is different so there isn't a pattern. Typically you have to make your own based of fitting the fabric to the chair, add stuffing and then tack it in place.
- Q: Over the years the foam in my leather chair has lost its ability to to firmly support someone. Replacing the foam is not a DIY endeavour. Are there any reupholsters in the Toronto area who can do something like this at a reasonable cost? The ones I have contacted are too pricey.
- Hi pc, I would suggest if you have any local Upholstery Schools ( colleges Night Classes etc ) in your area you may want to call them and inquire of any available help with your chair cushion. Many times the students in class are willing to replace and repair as part of the upholstery classes. Which because they are students, this repair may cost you a lot less. Good Luck!
