Q: Couldn't find anything on the net, so tell me anywhere in the US do they still use the electric chair?
I think only Texas still has the chair as an option!
Q: who first made the wheel chair???????????????????????????????
very confusing subject. do a search using search engines like google. it can help!
Q: I got a beautiful new oak rocking chair as a gift and would like to make a chair pad for it. I have a sewing machine and have some beginner sewing skills. Any simple patterns or ideas would be greatly appriciated.
You need to cut 2 pieces of fabric. Cut them the shape of your chairs seat, only make them about 4 inches wider/bigger all the way around. You can use a sheet of newspaper to make your pattern. Then turn the fabric right sides together and stitch~start at the back of it, but leave about a 3 gap in the center, sew from that point around the side, the front and the other side until you get back to your gap. Then just stuff it with some poly-stuffing, and hand stitch the gap/opening closed. You can also make you a couple of strips to tie it onto your chair if needed, or buy some heavy duty matching ribbon or trim. If you don't want to make one, you can always buy a ready-made chair pad too:) Just a tip....by the time you buy your fabric, thread, filling, etc..it's just about cheaper to buy one:) Unless you already have your materials;) Good Luck!!
Q: i have an old worn 1930's school desk that im using in my room for a desk. (its just really cool...)it's plain-ish and a dark finish wood, its pretty beat up so i was wondering what kind of chair i could buy to use that was new but didn't look out of place with it?please help!thanks.
I think you're better off using an older chair. The good news is that you can go to virtually any thrift store and find something that will work. You can even recover the seat with your own fabric--just pop it off, stretch the fabric over the edges and underneath, and staple it in place! The bad thing about a NEW chair is that it doesn't have the distressing and charm that the desk does, so it will forever look out of place.
Q: How do you get a fresh stain out of an upholstered chair and it cant be complicated. please help.
If the stain has set, use Resolve rung and upholstery cleaner.
Q: I work online and spend around 6-7 hours a day online. What is the best computer chair to maintain good posture and what not?
There isn't really one best chair, but one that I've experienced great benefit from is the Swopper. It's actually a super comfy stool that is designed to keep you 'actively sitting'. Your body has a better range of motion, and you actually get a little ab workout, too! I researched office chairs for awhile before I decided on this one, and I'm sure there's more than one great one out there, but I'm happy with my decision :) I'll include a link below to where I found mine. Hope this helps!
Q: Got a great deal on this modern molded fiberglass chair with a metal base. It's definitely vintage. I just want to know how to tell if it's an original Knoll or if it's a knockoff. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
If it is a Knoll chair it should have a tag or label on the bottom. If it does not have a label, it is probably a knock off, but still a really good looking chair! You could always try to contact your nearest Knoll Furniture dealer or representative in the area, and speak to them about how to authenticate it and find out when it was made.
Q: I recently bought this chair from a furniture dealer in South-East London. Got a good offer and bought the chair purely on aesthetic value
The chair design is called a four back ladder chair because of the four horizontal slats on the back. I want to say that it came from Denmark based on the curved seat design, possibly a Hans Wegner, but I really don't know that for sure. I would guess it's from the mid to late 50's.
Q: I told her to wait until I read the reviews. If not this chair, do you kids have their own chair to sit in? Where did you get it and how much did it cost you?
My girls got one for Christmas and I tolerated it for about a year. I mean we already have a couch a loveseat and a chair so it was just unecessary...plus it was princess and bright pink. They sat on it, but mostly just played with it. It was easy to wash the cover though..... They do have a child sized wooden rocker, and a table with chairs which gets used a lot.
Q: Over the years the foam in my leather chair has lost its ability to to firmly support someone. Replacing the foam is not a DIY endeavour. Are there any reupholsters in the Toronto area who can do something like this at a reasonable cost? The ones I have contacted are too pricey.
Hi pc, I would suggest if you have any local Upholstery Schools ( colleges Night Classes etc ) in your area you may want to call them and inquire of any available help with your chair cushion. Many times the students in class are willing to replace and repair as part of the upholstery classes. Which because they are students, this repair may cost you a lot less. Good Luck!
