Q: I was just wondering if many new mothers use their rocking chairs much? My mom told be she never did. But I am getting this nice Glider and ottoman. I think I will use it often.Do you have a glider or rocker? How often do you use your rocking chair? Do you love it or is it just there?
I used the antique Lincoln Rocker constantly. It was in the baby's bedroom at first, and then moved to the living room. Both babies lay in my arms while I sang and read to them in the rocking chair. There are little dents all over the arms where Baby #2 practiced with his Junior Carpenter set when he was 4 years old. I cherish those dents more than any perfect carved antique. When the house burned down when the babies were 18 and 19 years old, the rocker was one of the few pieces of furniture that survived. Now I keep it by my little propane stove and I read and rock the cats in it.
Q: well i bought a computer chair and i thought it was $90 but they gave me a $40 one instead (they billed me $40 anyway). I thought that was great until i sat in it. it makes my back too hot and it is uncomfortable. so id like to find some way of replacing, adding to, or just plain fixing the back of my chair. (i have 65$ to spend)
make it easy on a furniture repair shop and take the back from the chair === then take it to an auto upholstery shop and ask what the shopman can do to restuff the back to to better use for you ,,, take the parts with you and get an estimate for the r
Q: I'm considering purchasing one of these chairs. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
I don't like those vibrating massage chairs. They just make my skin itch after sitting in them. I have an iJoy massaging chair and it's like the massage tables chiropractors have. There are these rollers in it that travel up and down the back of the chair. And, with different settings, you can get different massaging action with them. I think these are about $750 or so at Costco. But, if you're looking for a massage chair, they are definitely the way to go.
Q: If our knees bent the other way, what would a chair look like?
chairs work on gravity and relaxation. bit taller with a longer seat that part of swings up. irrelivent we wouldn't have survived the sabre tooths.
Q: I have a reception site booked at a church. Unfortunately they only have fold-up chairs. We want something nicer but are on a VERY small budget. Can we put slipcovers on fold-up chairs?
Yes you can, you just have to get the measurements right but they are not cheap... how about sashes for the chairs instead in a nice colour. They are cheaper where we live and brighten up the room. You could even have the coloured sash with a flower in the middle of the back of the chair where the bow is formed....
Q: I want to buy a x-rocker pole position but it would be great if the sound comes from my tv AND chair is this possible? will wireless do this ?
You definitely can have sound going through both your TV speakers and gaming chair speakers. The way to do it is to hook the gaming chair up to the Audio Out of the TV (instead of connecting it to the audio leads coming from the gaming system, DVD/Blu-ray player, or whatever else). The Audio Out on the TV will be the regular red and white (female) audio jacks and then you can connect them to the Audio In of the gaming chair which are the same red and white (female) audio jacks. You connect them using a standard audio cord with a pair of red and white (male) audio jacks on each end (which came with your X Rocker gaming chair). Once your chair is connected this way you'll have sound coming out of both your TV and X Rocker chair. The volume control of the TV will effect both the TV volume and the gaming chair volume and then you can change the volume on your gaming chair itself to balance the volumes in front and behind you so it's just right. It's really great once you get it all dialed.
Q: Antique chair value and style.?
It's a second empire chair. Second empire style is from the period between 1865 - 1880 but it could also be a reproduction. It kind of looks like a reproduction from the picture but it's hard to tell without seeing it in the flesh so to speak. Value depends on so many things. If there a manufacturer name on the chair, what's the condition, etc. It depends what's making the legs wobbly. It can be dried out wood which shrinks the joints or something else.
Q: I bought a chair for my home office. I'm never in the office unless I'm working. So, yes the chair would be deductible then. However, the chair caused far too many back problems. It was a bad 8-hour a day chair. So, I replaced it and moved it into my guest bedroom. It is no longer a deductible chair, or is it?
No longer deductible, as it is for personal use. Deduct the new chair, forget the old one.
Q: For workshop i want to make an easy wooden chair, that a year 9 would be able to do. Can you give me measurments, and pictures would be great and diagrams. THANKKKKS.
Get a 3/8 brad point drill bit and bore both sides that you want to hold together and stick a 3/8's wooden dowel in there with glue on it and clamp it together till it is dry........It will take you a little time, but it's worth it.........I just fixed two of my own.......people don't like to lift their weight when moving and it tears them up......the other thing is young kids like to lean backwards and that is hard on wooden chairs. You can buy a doweling jig........and I have one.......but if the chairs are ornate it takes a little thinking.......if they are straight then the jig will help you make it easy.........just measure and mark everything. Good luck and have a nice xmas. You also need a drill motor with the brad point bit.....just go slow.
Q: my 8 month old fell out of a high chair at a restaurant and cut her lip it was due to the seat belt braking while she was still in it. my shirt was very bloody and all they offer was club soda and ice.i just thought they could have done more! should i sue?
What more would you want them to do? None of them, I'm sure, are qualified to offer medical assistance. Cuts to the lip, unless severe, typically heal on their own (some ice to reduce swelling seems right). They could have offered to pay for the cleaning cost of your shirt, sure, but you seem to want more Your child doesn't seem severely injured; you would have taken her to the emergency room she had, right? Sure you can sue them, but that doesn't mean you're going to get any money from them. Just thank your lucky stars your child is okay and maybe inspect the high chairs yourself the next time you take your kid out to eat.
