- Q: It‘s a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. It has a wheelchair lift on the rear and I was wondering if it is ok to take it through an automatic car wash? Thanks.
- Nope. You'll tear up the car wash and they are quite expensive to repair. If an attendant is there they probably won't even let you go through. Find a 'touchless' one and you should be OK but they do a real poor job.
- Q: I stay in Gainesville,Tx and I was wondering if there was any places in Denton or Lewisville that does the suspension lift
- Dallas will do it for you. Denton they're arent many car shops. You can do it yourself. There are two kinds, A body lift and a suspension lift. A body lift is simple, Just lift the car up place the raisers and put it down. You just need some strong friends of yours. The suspension lift is better to do in a shop. I'd go with the suspension since with a body lift you'll get alot more movement in the cabin since its not really on the chassis anymore.
- Q: hello all. my boyfriend just took our car to his shop to do a trans fluid change and rear brakes. well he used this lift with 4 feet that you can position around and the lift uses hydrolics. well it went up fine but it wont go down now it will go down a little bit but it stop and one side starts to go down. he did everything right almost breaking his hand pulling the safty lever to disenguage the locks. please help. i have to work monday and i miss my car!!
- Most lifts have a safety lock on each side that you have to disengage to lower the vehicle. If yours still won't lower I would look for a 1-800 number on the lift or look up the manufacturer online to find out if they have a technical assistance hotline.
- Q: How much is the one with the second lift?
- What is your job at your repair shop? Do you usually change the size and weight of the car in a range of how? Is your repair shop chained? Need to repair and replace the gearbox? Is it possible to repair the exhaust device? Do you usually need to repair the suspension? There are some other needs in the bottom of the car to carry out the maintenance work? Or do you need to do several or all of the above maintenance work at the same time?
- Q: I not an expert on arrow dynamics, but I really want to know if you put a wing on your car, will say mounted centered on your cars balance point. Lets say this wing wasn‘t like those ricers trying to produce down force so there civic doesn‘t fly off the highway, but a wing that produced lift, this could improve the gas mileage of your car. I‘m thinking it could even be mechanical in some way providing various amounts of lift, but on the highway you could make a 3000lb car drive like it was 2000lbs. That‘s a big *** difference, i just don‘t know how crazy drag would be on the wing itself, but I was just reading about something called the tube plane, a large percentage of its lift was created with the main body of the plane, technology is a far larger market than oil, driving around in vehicles shaped like bricks isn‘t helping MPG‘s. Any comments
- The idea of lift to reduce weight of a car, could create a hazard as far as handling and braking! The use of high tech plastics and lighter metals will reduce weight and increase mileage.
- Q: Does being able to carry or lift up someone mean you have great physical strength??
- Depends how much they weigh .
- Q: if so how much would a lift cost?
- Yes but like the previous poster WHYYYYYYYYYYY? you will ruin the vehicle.
- Q: Hey so i have a Musang GT and i bought a new X-pipe i want to install myself the problem is i have no way of getting under the car. I don‘t want to take it to a mechanic who will rape me for $$$, so I‘d love to figure out a way to lift it. I have two other cars in te driveway which have jacks to use to replace the tires, but there‘s a problem with this. 1. those jacks are too unstable and can‘t lift the car high enough, and 2. I need mostly to jack up the rear end, but I‘d love to be able to jack the whole car, and the E brake only stops the rear wheels so jacking the rear end would be too dangerous. Anyway is there a place where i can lift my car or a place with a pit? or are there cheap jacks i can buy somewhere? ThanksAnother note, where do you think is a good place to have it installed, assuming i can‘t find a way to do it myself?
