- Q: Does anybody know what the difference is between the front suspension of a 95 dakota and the one of a 97 I would like to put the fabtech 3 in kit on my 95 dakota I just want to know if it can be done and how? thanks
- Only the 4x4 has a different front suspension on those year dakotas. Are you lifting the body, or is this the upper control arm kit?, If it is the ladder take it to a reputable shop so you dont drop your truck on your head. it requires a car lift
- Q: When I jack my car up to put my lift kit on it, is alright to hold my 1992 Jeep up with CINDER BLOCKS 2 in the front and 2 in the back while I work on it?? I just don‘t want to waste the money for jack stands when I most likely will not use them again.
- As everyone has suggested, they are not ideal jackstands. If you do use them, make sure you orient them with the holes going up and down (like they would be in a wall). They may be strong enough to hold up a house when set right, but if you try to use them on their sides (i.e. with the holes running parrallel to the ground), they will collapse. Make sure they are as level as possible and not in soft ground where they could sink. You should put some kind of wood block (even chunks of 2x4 or plywood) between the cinder blocks and your Jeep for grip. The metal of your Jeep may try to slide on the concrete of the block. You want something between them that they both can bite into. Once you get it all set up, before you take off your tires, check the stability of your rig by pushing pulling and jumping up and down on it. Try to knock it down. If it's going to fall, you want it to fall now before you are under it. Good luck, be careful (and just borrow some jackstands!)
