- Q: Was driving 80 yesterday and felt as if I was going to lift off of the ground. Was wondering if my car had wings, would I be able to achieve lift at that speed? I know that it would immediately drop without jet engines, but what would it take to lift a car up? Let‘s say an aerodynamic car like a trans-am.
- Well that depends on how big of wings you have and how much your entire vehicle weighs. It would probably be good to note here that I remember hearing that Orville and Wilbur Wright flew their Wright Flyer somewhere in the range of about 35 mph. So speed is not the most important factor in achieving flight. It would depend more upon the profile and surface area of your wings. All flight really entails is achieving an upward force (lift) greater than that of your weight.
- Q: Or does it have to be extracted from on top of the car while standing over the hood area. I have a 96 BMW 7 Series.
- I can't imagine doing it from under the car if you mean the master brake cylinder.
- Q: What turns girls on more Lifted trucks or hot sports cars?
- From personal experience, I'd say it's my red sports car.
- Q: how to handle a car fire when we saw the accident
- Yeah. Iron is found in lots of beans and dark green vegetabled. Lack of iron can cause many things. You can type it in on google and it'll tell you lots of stuff
- Q: Can the basement be loaded with a two-liter lift on the first floor? 15 cm thick floor! Welded steel plate okay
- Hello, it is best not to install
- Q: I know this isn‘t a BMW question, but people who own BMWs are typically smarter than those Honda guys. Here goes:Could someone please explain to me, how the engine/transmission is set up in an Audi R8 (or any other mid engine, awd car)? Where is the tranny located, how does it send power to all 4 wheels? Does it have a different transmission than an RS4? My friend and I were discussing this, and I am at a complete loss.Any help is appreciated, and links would be great!
- I am a Honda and an Audi guy so here it goes. I used to own Toyota MR2 (also mid engine car). I you were to look at the car when on a lift, you would see that the basically it is like the front wheel drive (everything stuffed into one end of the car). It was little bit simpler because there was no steering the wheel (that also pushed the car). I saw some pictures on the Audi R8 and you can think of it as regular 4 wheel drive except driven in reverse (and the other set of wheel doing the steering). OK think of it this way, - picture an all-wheel-drive car. - now lift just the body off the chassis. - now rotate the chassis 180 degree. - now put the body back on. That's all. Good Luck.
- Q: any good sites on pipe cars or big go karts?
- Please don't do that. You're making your ride horrible, heavy big wheels bad gas mileage. Lifting it more body roll
- Q: Hey guys, im working on my extremely amateur rally car and am wondering if lift blocks are an option,, i want to get about 2 inches, and im wondering how these work and if they work on anything but 4x4s? i know its not a good idea to do things "cheaply" but at the moment that is my only option and the cars not worth investing thousands into, thanks.
- Lift blocks go inbetween the leaf springs and the axles on trucks, not always the best choice anyways since they allow twisting of the axle against the U-joint and the driveshaft. I doubt you have leaf springs on your car. You should have 4 wheel independent suspension using coilovers. what that means is that you have a shock inside a large spring that controls the ride of your vehicle. There are aftermarket coil-over spacers out there, just dont go too cheap and do the hockey-puck trick, its not safe. If you decide to go with coilover spacers, you should expect a rougher/stiffer ride becuase the spring will be more compressed, and that can lead to sudden loss of control while driving over larger bumps/holes. If your goal is higher off the ground, then i would highly recommend just installing larger tires, and if you dont want to invest alot of money into the car this is your best choice. 20 min with a saws-all and a hammer in your wheel wells can provide the ability to go up 1 or 2 diameter tire sizes Without knowing the year/make/model this is the best advice i can give you.
- Q: i have a 85 buick lesabre that i want to lift. anyone know wher to get a good but cheep lift kit?
