Q: Had safety inspection today. Mechanic started lifting car with out putting arms and lift pads out (center lift, arms form X under car). After driving car, couldn‘t turn wheel with out strong arming it. Got it in driveway, now leaking reddish fluid that has strong fish smell and serpentine belt has snapped. Whats going on? Could the improper lifting done this?
The brake system is a closed loop hydraulic system. Increasing the hydraulic pressure will move the wheel cylinders or calipers to increase the brake pressure. The master cylinder is the pump that increases the hydraulic pressure. You control that buy pushing on the brake pedal.
Q: i have a 2001 honda accord lx v6 coupe, its rims are stock 16 and i want to put 18 rims on it. i know i need new tires to fit the rims but will i have to have my car lifted in order for the new rims and tires to fit my car?
no, but depending on how wide the 18's are you may get fender rub when you turn
Q: i go sking every winter and i cant work out how the bubble lifts work i know there are 2 wheels one at each end that are turned by a engine, but what i dont understand is how these wheels get enough friction to turn the cables remember some of these cables must be at least half a mile long plus all the weight of the bubble cars and skiers any ideas ?
The cable cars are more or less equally spaced on one long loop of cable, so the weight of the cars themselves is balanced out on the Up Down sides. The drive system only really has to cope with the weight of the passengers, plus a bit of friction - and everything runs on pulleys with ballraces or roller bearings. The entire weight of the cable all cars is held by the big drive wheel at the top end, so there is a massive amount of force pulling the cable against it preventing it slipping.
Q: I am around 3-4k upside down on my vehicle. I have 4 years left on the loan. Should I sell and pay off the negative equity or should I keep the vehicle for the remainder of the loan and put that 3-4k towards the principal and cut 1.5 years off the loan payment?
You will still have a car payment if you sell the car and have negative equity on it. It will basically be making a car payment but without a car. You will be paying alot less and maybe you can sell it and put that toward what you still owe to make it even cheaper. Me and my bf just sold our car that we were upside down in and had to get a personal loan for the rest of the amount we owed but its way better then forcing ourselves to drain our wallet on a car payment. Just buy a cheaper car, after a while save your money, pay off the amount you owe and you will be good to go.
Q: When Gohan was training with the Z sword, Goku threw huge rocks at them, what do you think it can compare to for us, what it‘s like to them to carry it?A piece of paper?A small rock?or what? Same for cars with them.
Considering their strength and ease of lifting, I'm pretty sure picking up those type of items would just feel like picking up a small rock or maybe even a pebble
Q: My friend is into the lifted loud redneck trucks while i am into the lowered pimped out car We are having a debate on what girls would like better. So my question is would girls rather go for the lifted trucks or the lowered car?
Neither. most girls don't know **** about cars. And don't care about them. It's the driver they want. If you have a shitty personality it don't matter if you have a porshe or civic.
Q: Might be a silly question but still thought would ask By upward lift I mean, the car just glides on the road at about 1-2 inches when travelling at speeds of over 80-90 miles per hour How much will be the impact on stbility of the car? Is it impossible to design such cars ?
At that speed, you want more weight on the tires, otherwise you can lose controll very easily. As far as creating the upward lift, you would be using some sort of air dam or other body modification to create that lift. To create the lift, you would be using your cars forward speed to build up that cusion of air, and that would require power. There is a point where your tires would no longer be able to put enough power to the ground (due to reduced contact patch/reduced friction) from the lift, and you would spin out. Also, the energy to create the lift needs to come from somewhere, in this case your engine, and it would not do your mileage any favors.
Q: Chitown Customs charge $1200 for the lift kit. Is there any place in Illinois or Indiana that can by far beat that price?
Lifted cars with wheels over 20 inches look like ****, not to mention they are slow. Front wheel drivejunk.
