Q:You‘ve built a racecar equipped with wings that give the car negative lift. You take the 600kg car for a spin driving it into a curve with a radius of curvature 100 m. The coefficient of static friction between tires and road is .75, and the road is flat. a. You push the car through the curve at maximum speed before sliding friction kicks in. If this speed is 29 m/s, what is the magnitute of the negative lift force?b. You remove the wings, what will the max speed at which you‘ll now be able to successfully negotiate the curve?
(a). ∑F ma ?(F_neg_lift + W) m V?/R (0.75)(F_neg_lift + 600 * 9.8) (600)(29)?/100 F_neg_lift 848 N (b). ∑F ma ? W m V?/R (0.75)(600 * 9.8) (600)V?/100 V 27.11 m/s
Q:Lifted vs Lowered I love all modified vehicles, but whats your opinion?
lifted is fun and more versatile. lowered is cool envious!
Q:I wanted a lifted jeep but I‘m not allowed to get one. I‘m thinking about the toyota fj cruiser lifted. What other vechiles (trucks, suv‘s) look good lifted? Thanks!! Price range between (17,000- 22,000)
None. Why would you want to take a perfectly nice looking vehicle and turn it into a redneck mobile. If you want to lift something, go get a an old 1974 Ford pickup that's already ugly.
Q:first of all, the black cat superstition is true because i saw a black cat a couple days ago before this accident took place. basically i missed a turn, tried to make the turn and hit the curb pretty hard. i can stilll drive the car but the steering wheel is misaligned (its jerked towards the left). Brakes work fine, and no physical damage done to the car were done. It‘s only the steering that is problematic. How much would it cost to get it repaired, and how long would it take? I don‘t want to get ripped of. Thanks guys.
Front End/Alignment Shop. you did damage the Tie-Rod and/or A Arm(s)
Q:Three people, each with a mass of 71.1 kg, are in a car with a mass of 1130 kg. An earthquake strikes. The driver manages to pull of the road and stop, as the vertical oscillations of the ground surface make the car bounce up and down on its suspension springs. When the frequency of the shaking is 1.60 Hz, the car exhibits a maximum amplitude of vibration. The earthquake ends and the three people leave the car as fast as they can. By what distance does the car‘s undamaged suspension lift the car‘s body as the people get out?(give answer in cm)Im pretty sure you have to use these equations: *Let mass of all 3 peoplem *Let mass of carM(2*Pi*f)^2 k/(M+m)k*delta(x) (M+m)*gThe aim is to get delta(x) which is the amplitude in relation to the equilibrium position.I got 9.70cm to 3 s.f. (0.09696753093 m) and it said it was wrong :(
find the spring constant of the car's suspension. m total 1343.1 kg and use f 1/(2pi)√(k/m) (1.6*2pi)^2*1343.1 k k 135 740 N/m Now 3 persons with 3*71.1 kg are a force of 2090 N and the distance by which this force compresses the spring is 2090/135 740 0.01539 m The car will lift by 0.01539. m when the 3 persons leave the car OG
Q:where excalty do you posiotion a jack to lift a car up?some visuals will help
On one of the axels or the differential. Just make sure it's not on any of the suspension parts. The owners manual should have everything you need to know.
Q:How can you determine it?Use 2,400lbs as an example to work with.I‘m very bad at physics, but very VERY curious to know the answer(and I‘ve done it myself before, so I‘m wondering how much weight I was or needed to have lifted).Any suggestions would be good, even if not 100% correct.ONE rear side of the car. Thanks so much for any help!
ONE rear side of the car? How many rear sides do cars have again? That makes me think you meant something else. If you've lifted the back half of a car, look up the weight of the model, but I doubt you lifted the rear off the ground of a 2,400 lbs car.
Q:1) A stuntman drives a car (without negative lift) over the top of a hill, the cross section of which can be approximated by a circle of radius R 280 m. What is the greatest speed at which he can drive without the car leaving the road at the top of the hill?
Use the equation for uniform circular motion. In order to travel in a circle at constant speed, the acceleration needs to be: a v^2 / R Acceleration in this case is provided by gravity. Going over the hill, the net force has to be (mv^2/R) downward. Gravity provides a downward force of mg. If that's greater than mv^2/R, the hill exerts a Normal force upward to reduce the net force. But the reverse is not true - if gravity is not sufficient to make a tight enough circle, the hill cannot exert a downward normal force. The car's momentum lifts it off the descending road. The maximum speed that will allow the car to stay on the road is thus the speed where v^2/R exactly equals g, and the normal force is 0.
Q:So, I am babysitting my 1-year-old cousin who is about 25-30 pounds and I have to lift him to put him in his high chair, crib, and the car seat. I am 18 weeks prego. Is it bad for me to be lifting him?
I would say yes. I don't think you are suppose to lift anything over 25lbs. I know that I picked up my 4 1/2 year old son recently out of necessity for about 10 seconds and I was hurled over in pain afterwards. But he weighs 44 lbs. So that is kind of a bad example.
Q:2 cars are lifted to the same elevation in a service station. If 1 car is twice as heavy as the other, how do their potential energies compare?
Potential energy mgh g is a constant and h is equal for both cars. If the mass of car 1 is twice as much as the mass of car 2, the potential energy for car 1 will be twice as much as the potential energy for car 2.
