- Q: Okay, well driving to school i noticed that the car kept shaking and making bumpy noises, well i went to school, parked and went to classes. i left 4th period to go home and eat or whatever and the same thing happened, the bumpiness. i pulled to the side of the road and checked. the tire was apparently pushed in or like off the track of the base. i went home going 10 mph to be safe and in the garage. I jacked the car (lifted it) and took the hub cap off, but now the nuts/bolts are too tight, i can‘t get anywhere past that. I am also wondering if i could just place the tire back on track and then get air and if not then put the spare. the roads and filled with black ice and such, huge storm recently, please help
- Put the spare on and take it to a tire place to get the regular tire fixed. If you can't get the lug nuts off, start with the car all the way on the ground and loosen them by hitting the lug wrench with a hammer or your foot. Only loosen them a little bit with the car on the ground. Once you get them started, lift the car and finish taking the nuts off.
- Q: A 5000 kg helicopter accelerates upward at 0.6 m/s2 while lifting a 1500 kg car. a) What is the lift force supplied by the helicopter rotors? b) What is the tension in the cable connecting the car to the helicopter? Answer:a) 67600 N b)15600 N How do I get these? Thanks.
- F ma is your baby here. For the first one, how much weight must the rotors lift? They must lift the weight of the car and the helicopter right? So we add them together. 5000kg + 1500kg 6500kg total that the rotors must lift. We know that the acceleration due to gravity is 9.81m/s2, but the helicopter is accelerating upwards at 0.6m/s2. If its accelerating up, its making the load feel like its heavier than it really is. So we add the accelerations. 9.81 + 0.6 10.41m/s2. Now just substitute into F ma F 6500kg * 10.41m/s2 67665 N For B, the tension in the cable would just be the force of the car right? Cuz the cable is only holding the car up. So again F ma F 1500kg * 10.41m/s2 15615N
- Q: can lifting heavy things while trying to conceive, effect your chances?? I work as a teacher for 2 yr old and I have to lift them to change their diapers, sometimes I even have to lift my nephews car seat with him in it is that ok??? can it effect my chances???
- Heavy lifting shouldn't cause any problem. Staying active and getting some exercise is good for you.
- Q: i would like to make my own lift for when i work on my car
- make some ramps out of 4x4s, or 12x12's :)
- Q: on a car lift not just a jack, and what exactly is it?
- If you mean the seam along the side of the body, where the rocker sills are attached, I wouldn't if you have an alternative, like a spring pad or crossmember. Anytime you put stress on this area, you weaken it. Older model K cars and Chrysler products had the car jack use this area as a lift point. I've seen lots of cars ruined, when rust damage allowed the lift to go through the area, then damage the door or something worse. It's just an exposed seam spot welded together at the factory. Hope this helped
- Q: i have a 1000 cc enginge 4 cylinders 4 valves per cylinder all aluminium blockengine is polished n ported and runs fantastic as of now,,,
- It allows more air to pass into the combustion chamber. Hope I have been helpful.
- Q: The input piston and output plunger of a hydraulic car lift are at the same level, as shown in the drawing. The cross-sectional area of the input piston is 12 cm2, while that of the output plunger is 1200 cm2. The force F1 applied to the input piston has a magnitude of 140 N. What is the weight W of the car? Neglect the weight of the piston and plunger. Give your answer to two significant figures, e.g., 640 N.
- The ratio of the areas of the pistions is 1 to 100, this ratio is the same for the force. The for of 140 N is changed a force of 14,000 N on the other pistion, but it will only be lifted 1/100th of the distance. Long story short according to your problem the car weighs 14,000 N or 1.4 times 10^4
- Q: 2 cars are lifted to the same elevation in a service station. If 1 car is twice as heavy as the other, how do their potential energies compare?
- Potential energy mgh g is a constant and h is equal for both cars. If the mass of car 1 is twice as much as the mass of car 2, the potential energy for car 1 will be twice as much as the potential energy for car 2.
- Q: I have a chevy lumina
- It depends... if you have a body kit on it and there is enough clearance you might not need to but... otherwise you will probably need to lift it...
