Q: At point A when the angle of elevation is 31 degrees, the lift cars will travel at 5.0 mph. Each degree of increase of elecation decreases the speed by .2 mph. Point A and point B are 600 feet away from each other (Point B is 600 feet right, closer to the mountain). We may be able to situate the base station at points other than points A and B. What base station location minimizes the time needed to reach the top? Also assume each degree of decrease in the angle of elevation increases the speed by .2 mph. Work please? Thanks!
We need a diagram, or a better setup. Is A at the same elevation as B? Is there some third point on the mountain to which the cars must travel? If so, what is its elevation and distance? (I guess if from A Θ 31?, we need the elevation OR the distance -- we can calculate the other.) If we put the station at B, how do we get to B? And what is the travel time to get to B? Does it matter?
Q: I recently hot boxed my car and am realizing this was really stupid, because now when I open my car, it smells super strong. I have put baking soda in my car and on the seats, and it lightly lifted a bit of the smoke smell. However I am trying to get it to completely go away. I looked at some answers some people asked this same question. I read that vinegar can get rid of the smell, and ozium? Where can I buy this? And is itia neutralizer or a deoderizer.
Go buy a spray bottle of extra-strength febreeze, spray down the seats, floor, ceiling, the cargo area, anywhere there is fabric, you should spray. Leave your windows down for a while and drive around with the air going to air the car out a bit. Any grocery store has febreeze, and ozium can be found easier at hardware stores.
Q: Hello, I just had a pole barn built and am wanting to purchase a lift to lift my car and trucks up to work on them. My ceilings in the barn are 12 feet high. I do not know the advantages of the two post lifts and four posts lifts and the scissor lift. Also would like to know someones positive experience with a product and which lifts are the most reliable and longlasting. Are the american made lifts made better and perform better. which ones have the best warranty that a company will stand behind? These are the kind of lifts that attach to the pole barn concrete floor. Your help would be appreciated, as there are so many brands, not sure which one to buy or what to look for.
Buy one from an American manufacturer, If you buy off-shore you will have problems getting parts, I prefer the twin posts, because you can pull the wheels off without setting extra blocks, however 4 posters give you ramps to set tools on . Also 2 post is easier to pull engines. All depends on what work you do mainly. You have less to trip over with a 2 post. The last shop I worked in had both and I hated the 4 poster.
Q: Classification of car lifts
Four-column car lift is a large tonnage car or truck repair and maintenance units commonly used special mechanical lifting equipment, four-column car lift is also suitable for four-wheel positioning, because the general four-column car lifts are There are four wheel positioning gears that can be adjusted to ensure the level. Four-column lift according to its structure is divided into two types of cylinder and under the cylinder. On the cylinder-type four-column lift the cylinder placed in the top of the column (with beams), the next cylinder-type cylinder placed under the plate. On the cylinder-type four-column lift mainly rely on four chains to pull up the four corners, pull the oil cylinder at the top, this structure is simple, but the weight increase. Most of the upper four-cylinder lift is lifted manually or pneumatically, and the mechanic needs to run underneath, which is inconvenient and unsafe for users who are often using secondary lifts. The safety device is a pneumatic device, if there is no gas is too much trouble. The four-column lift of the lower cylinder mainly relies on the four corrugations from the four corners. The tension cylinder is placed under the flat plate and the force is transmitted through the six discs. This structure is relatively compact, weight reduction. The second lift is generally electric hydraulic, and the main pump connected together, as long as the turn can change the valve,
Q: I promised my sis i would install her a new fuel pump and filter in her car. She has a 2001 grand am 6 cylinder car and i just wanna know is it hard to do and if u could can u provide steps on how to remove and replace the pump and filter
you have to drop the tank for the fuel pump because its an in-the-tank-pump. as for the filter its easy, in the engine compartment
Q: So I have a Honda CIvic LX-S 2010 and the front window that you use when you are driving to look in the front. (sorry I wanted to make my self clear) and the strip on the right side if you are siting in the car is lifting so you can see like connectors.
As a 2010 I would suggest you take it to a main dealer as it should be under warranty. Do not stick it down as there may be a recall on it.
Q: I‘m 15 and my dad‘s teaching me how to drive We only own a manual car so I‘m learning on it! We practice in a parking lot that‘s mostly flat but has some hills. We pretend there are stop signs in random places to practice stopping and going. Whenever i stop on a hill I can manage to stop fine just when I start going again I seem to ALWAYS stall it. My dad says I take my foot off the clutch too quickly. Is there any trick to avoid this?
Hill starts can be hard for learners, I used to stall allot of the time. Keep handbrake on, slowly lift the clutch up until you find the biting point (the bit that pulls the car as you lift up the clutch) when you feel that try and keep it there and take the handbrake off (but not to fast) if the car isn't moving as you take the handbrake off lift the clutch up a little more. If you are on a steep hill and it starts rolling back, don't panic, just lift clutch up more but don't release more handbrake and don't.raise it, as you lift the clutch up more apply some accelerater to build up revs (try.keep revs on about 2k) this should stop you stalling so long as you don't lift the clutch up to fast. Now that you have the clutch on biting point, handbrake about halfway down and revs about 2k, lift clutch up more and release.handbrake but not to fast. It just takes a little getting used to, when you can do it, it becomes so easy and you wonder why found it hard in the 1st place ;).
