Are the american made lifts made better and perform better. which ones have the best warranty that a company will stand behind? These are the kind of lifts that attach to the pole barn concrete floor. Your help would be appreciated, as there are so many brands, not sure which one to buy or what to look for.: Buy one from an American manufacturer, If you buy off-shore you will have problems getting parts, I prefer the twin posts, because you can pull the wheels off without setting extra blocks, however 4 posters give you ramps to set tools on . Also 2 post is easier to pull engines. All depends on what work you do mainly. You have less to trip over with a 2 post. The last shop I worked in had both and I hated the 4 poster.

Q:When your jacking and lifting a car, are you supposed to first put the car in neutral and release the parking break, or put the car in park ? I go to a technical high school and the auto teacher taught us to put it in neutral first, but my dad keeps arguing with me that you put it in park. Q:Can anyone please tell me how to lift this damn car properly? I just bought a craftsman jack and I‘m already angry because the car is so low that the jack doesn‘t fit underneath. When i lift the car im having trouble placing the jack stands because the front driverside lift point is right in front of the area thats recommended to placing jack stands on. Please someone give me some advice because this days going all wrong.: scissor jacks are not that crappy when you got to change a flat tire. Place the jack stands near the tire on the suspension s for me. Or start again and drive the car up onto 2 2x6 blocks (like a mini ramp) which raises the car another 3 and the craftsman jack will fit under it. That is why you are suppose to have a floor hoist or a pit so you can work on the car from the underside.

Elevate the car on a jack or lift winch so that it is safely and securely above the ground. Remove the wheels using a lug wrench, setting the lug nuts aside where they will not be lost. Disconnect the sway bar link from the lower control arm on each side of the vehicle. Unbolt the outer tie rod ends as well as the lower bolt through the shock/coil assembly. Disconnect the coil and strut assembly from each tire. Write down the alignment of the top plate of the strut studs to the lower shock hole. You'll need to know this before compressing the spring or else you will need to install the lift kit all over again. Use a spring compressor to compress the springs on each tire.
