- Q: im buying an old motorcycle from a friend and it needs a little work. it needs new mirrors, turning signals, and brake lamps.how much is it gonna cost to get this bike street legal again???
- Both answers above me are on the right track. Can't tell without knowing. Parts for an old BMW are going to be more than for an old Honda. Buying used parts from a salvage yard is an effective way to control costs. I could get all of those parts for an old Japanese bike at my local guy for about 5 or 10 bucks apiece.
- Q: What should I know about a scooter before I place an order, the brands, models, prices, replacements, and what else? Among all of these, what matters most, the parts, engine, brakes, or just the style?I‘m a motorcycle beginner and want to start with a scooter first.
- Screw the scooter, if you want a motorcycle buy a motorcycle. Like saying you want a car, buy a go-cart. Honda Rebel 250, go from there.
- Q: I know Honda NC700X does, and Yamaha Super Tenere. But what about Suzuki V-Strom 650/1000, Kawasaki Versys, Honda CB500X? Any others? I‘m pretty sure the Gold Wings do and many other Hondas. Thanks!P.S. Looking only for information on the big 4 Japanese manufacturers. Thank you!
- almost all bikes (more than 250cc) completed with ABS. Ninja 250 ABS, CBR 250ABS and many more. Linked brakes usually comes from automatic small bike like Honda 110cc matic series
- Q: When I press my front brakes down the first cm or so doesnt do anything. Then I can feel the lever kind of jump down another cm or so and the brakes jerk a little bit. When I first got it, the brake lever and brakes were smooth all the way through? What do you think is wrong? Also when I shift gears it sounds kind of rough, not really clanky, just rough. Is that because I have a dry clutch system as opposed to a wet clutch? It is a 2005 Suzuki gs500f
- No it will not cause any harm to the bike, as long as you keep it upright on the rubber. When you you get an unexpected red, WHY was it unexpected? Had you been watching it green for several seconds, and it suddenly changed to blue or purple or some odd color? Maybe you need to slow down at intersections? If you get an unexpected color tomorrow just grab the clutch lever and lean on the brakes! You may be able to downshift a couple of gears, but be careful you don't cause the rear tire to lock up and low side your bike at the light. Didn't they tell you how to do that in your Basic Riders Course?
- Q: So I went to bleed my motorcycle‘s brake fluid, but the screw is stripped. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? Either 1) How to get it out without an abundant amount of tools. 2) The perfect tool to get to get it out or even 3) a place that would take it out for me (for a cost of course). Thanks in Advance!Oh and if it helps, it‘s a 1980 yamaha maxim xj650.
- Any competent bike shop can handle a stripped screw.
- Q: CBS Brake System The CBS (Combi-Brake System) uses both front and rear wheels to brake simultaneously. Even if the driver is not skilled, but also through a single operation, it is easy to complete a smooth brake.
- Wuyang Honda woman scooter
- Q: The kind that are on mountain bikesi like doing wheeles but cant control them as well because my front brake is a handle lever (pointless) and for my rear wheels its kind of a foot pedal located near where i put my right foot while riding normally. usually i i have stand on the back grab bar cuz it doesnt have a lot of engin power. basically im asking if and how if i can put a handle bar lever brake for my rearwheels if theres not one already there. BTW i have an Arctic Cat DVX 250 4-strokeredlawl. im not really sure if u needed the color. whoever has the answer.very much thankx. and no just YES or NO answers pleez!!!!!!!!!
- Just get a longer brake cable at the ATV shop or motorcycle shop, and put a lever on the handlebars. Run the cable to it, and use cable ties to hold it to the frame as you run it to the back wheels.
- Q: Hi all, I am 19 year old male and I was thinking to buy motorcycle for a long time. Problem is I am very scared of it, whenever i say to someone that i want to buy one they always say Oh, you wonna get yourself killed?, Do you wonna be in wheelchair? and etcAre motorycles really that dangerous?P.S. Sorry for my bad english :)
- Yes they are very dangerous. However, you can do as much as possible to minimize that risk! For starters, you want to wear as much quality gear as possible. Helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, boots. And I'm talking motorcycle specific gearjeans don't hold up. Next you want to take riding courses, such as the MSF, to give you a solid background and help develop your skills. Finally, this is the most importantyou need to be 110% aware of everything. Other people around you, road surface conditions, throttle control, body positionetc. You really need to learn how to anticipate events so that you can plan ahead and get out of a would-be bad situation. Still, at the end of the day, it is risky. There are times which you just can't avoid a bad situation. But you can reduce all the other risks as much as possible. It's not for everyone, but if you try it, you may just find out that you love it more than anything else!!
