Q:My spark plugs and wiring and tubing on my car cylinder (99 Plymouth neon) were drenched in oil. The problem got fixed. or so I thought. The people at advanced read it on their machine before it got repaired and said cylinder 2 misfired. When driving it it surge and kinda hesitate when accelerating. Check engine light came on and off. drove me crazy. After the car got repaired, same thing (a week later, after getting off of the interstate). I even got an oil change 4 hours after it got repaired! What‘s wrong? I‘d like to have a good idea what‘s wrong before I take it back to the shop and/or probably causing it. Bad spark plugs, oil pump cruddy? Help! I‘m hyperventilating.: i good brand is element's durathane.theyre light but tough! theyre especially made for preventing flatspots and trust me, flatspots are annoying. they start to make an annoying clicking sound when they roll on the ground and if theyre too beat up, then youll just end up eating a serving of asphalt.

Q:I was driving down a road and hit a little dip too fast. Then after that in order to slow down or stop I have to press my breaks to the ground. Also my emergency light is on even though my break isn‘t and that happened at about the same time as the breaks. Q:I have a 99 pontiac sunfire breeze and there is a light that is coming on in the dash saying ETS off. I can not find it in the book and the people at the auto store dont know what it means either. Could anyone help me on this?: It is the traction control system. Assuming that you cannot just hit the button and turn it off (the left side of the floor shifter) It normally is tripped because of a bad hub bearing or ABS wheel speed sensor. I have seen the ets light come on due to turning sharp on a slippery surface (ie mud or gravel) when an actual problem doesn't exist. Have Auto Zone or Advance pull your computer codes for you and then clear the ETS light. IF it comes back on, you have a sensor bad, if not, it may have tripped due to wheel spin and it's nothing to worry about. PS, the guy above me doesn't have a CLUE. Although a Sunfire might not be the best American car made, there are plenty of American cars that are MUCH better than ANY underpowered, uncomfortable, jap crap that has timing belts to be replaced, bad cv joints, weak automatic transmissions, and HIGH repair bills. If you HAVE to go Japanese, buy Nissan!

Q:Took it to Auto zone auto parts and the code came up Secondary air injection system.I recently changed my air cleaner and the cover is held by three screws,I dropped one down in the car frame and cant get to to it so the cover is being held with 2 screws with the front corner one missing.Could this have lead to the check engine light to come on with this code.or any other suggestions on secondary air injection system?: That's actually a common fault with the new body style S T bodies. Usually water is sucked up by the electric motor and it seizes. Take the truck for a proper diagnostic by a qualified mechanic.

Q:I have to put my key in the little keyhole next to the gearshift to get it to reverse. My brake lights don‘t come on but my headlights do. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks for any help.: There is a safety switch attached to the brake pedal. It must be activated by pressing on the pedal to activate the safety switch for the shifter. Seeing that the brake lights are not working, I'd start by looking for a blown fuse. Then progress to having that switch replaced.

If your alternator belt has failed, causing your battery light to come on, you probably won't make it more than one or two very short trips. Ps. Good luck!

Q:2003 Toyota Avalon XLS.The battery was installed in Aug 2013 (before I owned the car) according to the label on it. The battery itself and the connections look good with no rust on the terminals or the wire, however, I did clip and put a new, better end on the negative cause it was slightly questionable. (Still the lights flickered after that). Went to Advance Auto and had them run a battery/charge test.
