Q: What would cause the head lights to go off for a second and then come back on again. I also have a prob with high beams as well. When there on, they will go off after a short while of use.
Could be a short in the wiring, bad relay overheating, or a bad headlamp switch. Check to see if the relays are getting unusually hot, same for the switch, and try working the wires a bit to see if it is a short or bad connection.
Q: When I try to start my 95 cadillac seville sts it says auto theft security system, wait 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, start car, starting disabled. An does it all over again. How to get these off.
Sorry Rick29148, you're wrong on this one. GM uses a system called VATS. (PATS is Ford) Vats is known for failing and there are a few different ways to bypass it. The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well. vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.y...
Q: I usually have this little orange light that I can see under park reverse etc however since the battery light has came on, at night time I can not see this at all now. My lights work and everything else works however I‘m worried because the battery light is staying on. Any help?
Take it to a parts store like Autozone. They can usually test the computer in the car to see what error is causing the light to stay of if the battery is okay. They can also test the battery to make sure it's not a legitimate problem. They should do all that for free as well. So I'd try that before taking it to a mechanic.
Q: 2001 audi a4. Along with the traction light (exclamation point ) breaks seem to be working fine though. But when i do turn on a curve going right, i hear a noise in the front left wheel but its not flat or anything. Anyway, It was on when i drove to school, then when i got out of class, (like 3 hours later) it was off the whole ride home. School is about 20 minutes away. So if i take it to auto zone will they help me out? And is it safe to drive?
Only an audi dealer can scan the abs system for codes. Sounds like a bad wheel speed sensor(would also explain the traction light)
Q: when it is turned on, it doesnt make the clicking ignite sounds. None of the four burners work
It sounds like you have an auto-ignite system with no pilot lights. Since you do not hear a click I would say that the safety device is most likely functioning properly. Your ignition switch has gone out. You can contact the manufacturer and get a replacement switch or you can buy a replacement BBQ ignition switch and rewire it yourself. Replacing an auto-ignite with a push button ignite is really not that difficult and might save you a few bucks.
Q: Every time I hit the F5 or F6 to light it up, A grey box pops up with a cancel sign in the bottom and won‘t let me light up my screen. What buttons do I hit to unlock it?
If you are in a bright place, it will do that if the Auto illumination is checked. Try going to System Preferences/Keyboard and un-check Automatically illuminate keyboard in low light
Q: I just purchased a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT with about 140k miles on it. It has been driving just fine for 2 days, but I decided to fuel up with mid grade gas instead of the recommended premium, and now the check engine light is of with the flashing green cruise light. Could the mid grade gas cause this? The engine still sounds fine and I don‘t see any other problems.
The CEL light is always related to an emissions control problem. Some car's computers also trigger the light for non-emissions issues. The wrong gas won't affect the CEL light. Since you imply that the light came on after you filled up, I would first look at the gas cap to ensure it is properly seated. Also, if you overfill the tank, the vent and purge systems will cause a code to be set. The liquid gas will block the purge lines. Take the car to an auto parts store. Some will scan your code for free in hopes of selling you a needed part. In my internet search, it seems that the CEL causes the green cruise light to flash, probably in an effort to draw your attention to the dash panel and the CEL light. If you fix the cause of the CEL problem, you'll probably fix the cruise light flashing problem also.
Q: I believe its a 2004. Had the oil changed yesterday. and today the check engine light came on. took it to auto parts place, they hooked it up and said it was clear and no codes came up. could it have been the oil change? should i take it to a mechanic? it also started to make a rather loud rattling sound, but that was before the oil change, and it only happens sometimes.
mis fires at times can make the light come on, however unless it is a complete dead miss they usually they will not register a DTC code in the system. That possibly could be the issue. I have never heard of an oil change causing an issue with the check engine light. good luck
Q: This morning I go out to my car and it chose to act out on me. 2000 Daewoo Nubira.Odd sound possibly from resonator? As soon as I turned it on, it started shaking and almost like it was bouncing. The check engine light also came on too. I put it in reverse to see if that may work, but it still was shaking. I then put it in drive and gave a little gas, no result, so I put it back in park and now have no idea what to do.It does seem to be coming from the engine area. Also, there is no way I could afford to go to a mechanic right now.I did try driving it (not too far though) and it still does shake when driving. The light is a constatant, no blinking. My husband checked for a hissing and he says there is none. The guy at AutoZone said it should be alright to drive in, but with any problem I get so nervous and I am not sure about whether or not it is alright to drive even the three miles to AutoZone.(I asked this earlier and still confused as to what it could be)
you're fast, aren't you? not exactly on the surface, not buried though, by any means. and yes put the lid with holes on top, because that keeps it humid and moist. i think you might want an aquarium heater to keep temperature constant, but again you might read upon that.
Q: can you change the gauges light, because i have green gauges but i want to know if i can install a blue light. also what kind of audio system would you suggest for the escape because it is a double deck? oh and how much would tints cost for my windows??
How you stop is ENTIRELY judged by speed and distance from your stopping point. The main thing to remember is that PROPER braking requires both brakes applied simultaneously with even pressure. Using your brakes to slow or down-shifting is entirely subjective but you should never coast while slowing with the clutch pulled all the way in. Why? Because if you need power in an emergency you could very well be in the wrong gear and make a bad situation worse. Typically, when I slow down I downshift first and then apply the brakes when coming to a stop. Depending on conditions, you may need to apply the brakes and then downshift - Refer to my first sentence. Anyway, I went to a private school to learn to ride motorcycles and have NEVER had an accident. I have owned and ridden everything from a Suzuki Hayabusa to my Goldwing, so I know what Im doing. Be safe.
