- Q: My 2000 Saturn SL2 ABS and Brake light come on when I hit about 25 mph and before the abs light comes on when I hit the brakes the ABS engage like I‘m on ice. I changed both ABS sensors and checked the fuse, could it be the brake master cylinder? (the brake pedal is kind of spongy) I went to Auto Zone and they said their scanner only does check engine lights.
- Check your brake fluid level, if that is low then check for leaks in the system. Could be brake calipers, wheel cylinder steel lines, rubber hoses, master cylinder. If the fluid level is ok and you find no leaks dont spend anymore money till you get the ABS Module scanned and you know what codes are in it that will help you diagnose the problem.

- This is controlled by a module. Most of the time this module will be located in the rear of the vehicle, perhaps in the trunk compartment, up out of the way. Unplug it and the feature will be disabled without losing your courtesy lights. Unfortunately, it likely won't have a nice label explaining in english what it is. So if you unplug the wrong module, no harm done, just plug it back in and try another.

- Q: The check engine light has been on constantly since I bought the car, and I have been told by more than one person that it‘s just due to a catalytic converter sensor so I left it alone. Recently, I‘ve started getting low on oil, probably because my miles are so high (178K) and I‘m burning it, so I put oil in about once a week. Just this morning, after driving about 10 minutes, the check engine light started to blink and did so almost constantly during my remaining 15 minutes of driving. It felt like it just didn‘t want to go any faster. Once I got to my destination and the car was parked but still on, it felt like it was humming, or jerking or something. Once the car was off, something didn‘t smell right but I couldn‘t figure out the smell. No smoke was coming out of the back or front. I‘m worried about even driving to an Auto Zone or something similar without knowing the problem. Can anyone help??
- A blinking check engine light is a severe warning that something is wrong with the emissions system or engine! More then likely the issue is with the catalytic converter itself. There are two oxygen sensors in your exhaust system. One is directly behind the catalytic converter and the other is between the exhaust manifold and converter. No matter where you bought the car you must have at least a 30 day warranty. The sellers are required to make any and all maintenance and repairs to the car within this period! Please go after the sellers like as mad dog to make through and proper repairs to the emissions system or engine during your warranty period! A catalytic converter is very expensive. You don't need the hassle of paying out of pocket for one.

- The ABS modules are expensive. That being said you have more than one issue going on. The ABS light isn't too likely to be related to the inability to move the truck. Even with an inoperative ABS system the truck still has the ability to stop itself using the standard hydraulic braking system. The wrench light indicates there's a mechanical issue that needs to be fixed. The easiest way to isolate it is to have the codes scanned and go from there. The ABS system can be a chore to diagnose without a scanner designed for that purpose, unfortunately they are not the scanners the auto parts stores use for free. Your inability to get the truck moving is more likley to be related to the driveline/transmission.

- Could be your switch. The blinker is probably just the lamp burnt out (I can't remember if it's a steady light for rear and rapid for front or the other way around) OR you have some wiring issues or a short in the system causing the flasher repeater to run headlights, which could have burnt up the relay and causing your blinker to go all wonky on ya.
