- Q:My spark plugs and wiring and tubing on my car cylinder (99 Plymouth neon) were drenched in oil. The problem got fixed. or so I thought. The people at advanced read it on their machine before it got repaired and said cylinder 2 misfired. When driving it it surge and kinda hesitate when accelerating. Check engine light came on and off. drove me crazy. After the car got repaired, same thing (a week later, after getting off of the interstate). I even got an oil change 4 hours after it got repaired! What‘s wrong? I‘d like to have a good idea what‘s wrong before I take it back to the shop and/or probably causing it. Bad spark plugs, oil pump cruddy? Help! I‘m hyperventilating.
- i good brand is element's durathane.theyre light but tough! theyre especially made for preventing flatspots and trust me, flatspots are annoying. they start to make an annoying clicking sound when they roll on the ground and if theyre too beat up, then youll just end up eating a serving of asphalt.

- Q:I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I want to replace the standard stock headlights and fog light bulbs by a much brighter white bulbs. I don‘t have a good knowledge about how light bulbs are ranked according to their brightness. I don‘t really like the after market bulbs that some cars have, which the color looks almost blue or purple. A guy from advance auto part suggested me to get a Sylvania Super White for $50/pair. Is that the good brand, are they gonna be WHITE or will turn blue or purple? Anyone has any better suggestion for me? Thanks a lot!

- Q:I have just recently installed a 1500 watt system and its true power well at night if i am really pounding away my lights dim pretty low and sometimes it even makes my speedometer move I was wondering what type of upgrade i should do guy at auto shop said to install a second battery one meant specifically for car audio. I‘m not sure the size of my alternator i just know it is stock
- just install a capacitor close to the amp or amps it stores energy for when the amplifier is calling for it.they have many on line a 2 farad or bigger but not to big.and you should be running 1/0 gauge wiring from the battery to the capacitor,don't forget to put a breaker or fuse in the line close to the battery.then ground the capacitor to the chaise with a line as thick as the power line no longer than a foot to 18 inches.hook a distribution block on a 1/0 gauge wire to the pos side of the capacitor also then you can down size your wiring from the distribution block to the amp or amps.so on the capacitor you should have 2 power lines on the pos post and 1 ground wire on the neg side grounded to the chaise.then tighten up the contacts on the capacitor and don't over do it.and if your ever removing the capacitor never do it from the contacts themselves,or they will crack from the power that has been heating them up.hope this helps you out.i have installed many and they do help as long as your not running a 5000 watt system.have one installed in my jeep and aways use them when running a powered system.now when you go big like 5000 watts that's when you need the big 3 upgrade with a high output alternator.and read the instructions on charging the cap.its should happen slowly and they give you a small piece of wire to do it with.and you don't go to big for the reasons in the last write up.10 farad tops.

- OSRAM is better, but many people do not know, commonly used bulbs are Philips. OSRAM slightly more expensive, some people like to use more modified. Thank you

- That is a very common sign that your alternator is probably going bad. You can pull it off and have it checked at most part stores to see if it is charging enough voltage. If the alt stops charging all together the car will eventully stop running when the battery runs out of juise.
- Q:I have a 99 honda civic EX auto, coolant keeps disappearing in the res. tank and I keep getting air in the cooling system. I have replaced the radiator hose, therostat and flushed coolant. I believe there isnt any coolant leaks outside/ no smell of coolant. Car does not overheat and runs fine. No smoke coming out of exhaust when running hot or cold.Car does have a radiator that looks like it came out of a different car cause factory or auto zone radiator cap wont fit it.
- Sounds like you have a bad radiator cap, when it gets hot the excess water flows into the overfill tank and when it cools off it does not pull the coolant back in. Thats the job of the cap so I suggest you take it to Auto zone and have them pressure test the cap and the cooling system, when you do you will see the leak if it's in the radiator or heater core core system or if it's just the cap. Hope this helps and good luck.If your cap tests OK then you have a pin hole leak on one of the hoses or the weep hole on the water pump is leaking.
- Q:I think there‘s something wrong with my fuel system but I want to be sure because if if not,I‘m out $100 for the test.There is a recall on the fuel system.Here‘s what it‘s doing: I drive a lot of h-way time.About 2-3 months ago I started hearing a loud humming noise coming from the engine.I‘m just driving along with cruise control on even and just out of the blue the engine will begin humming.It‘ll start soft,get louder and then stay at one pitch.When I take my foot off the gas,it dies down and then everything sounds normal,but once I apply the gas, it doesn‘t take but a few minutes and it comes back.I had new spark plugs installed around the time my engine light started staying on for longer periods because it does go off but it doesn‘t stay off for more than one trip,I‘ve always gotten 30mpg and still am.I can‘t afford to be out $100.Does anyone know if this is fuel system related, or not?I‘ve heard Ford‘s are known for bad fuel pumps, is this true?
- THE VERY FIRST THING YOU DO IS FREE. Take it to an Advanced Auto Parts store and have them check the trouble code. They will do this for free and it takes less than 5 minutes. This will tell you if that the ECM has detected a problem and it will tell you what it is. If its something to do with your fuel system (i.e. lean mixture) than start with a new fuel filter. They are $7 and take less time to replace than checking the trouble code. The problem also could be an air intake leak.

- Hardware is Physical and you can touch it ete. Software is Electronic and is transmitted through and you cannot touch it. Both Hardware and Software need Drivers to function. Drivers are Electronic and thus Software.
- Q:I just purchased a 2007 BMW 335i and was wondering how this may be done. I know I can turn them on by turning on my parking brakes. Also, I can run daytime running lamp bulbs but those look kind of ugly. I just want to have my coronas turn on when my light switch is turned to automatic. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
- The coronas, normally called angel eyes, ARE the DRLs. They come on whenever the parking lights (not parking brakes) are on. They can also come on independently if you have it set up in either i-Drive, or if you don't have navigation then by using your instrument cluster menu system. It's all in the owners manual. Placing the headlight switch into the auto position will turn on the headlights if it's dark enough or if it's raining, which then turns on the angel eyes since the parking lights come on too. If you have DRL turned on as mentioned above, they would be on all the time and then the headlights would come on once it got dark outside. The parking lights are the orange ones on the very outside of the headlight assembly. If you have DRL enabled in whatever menu system you have, they are on all the time regardless of the headlight switch position. The angel eyes are run by a single bulb for each side of the car, a 35 watt H8 to be specific. The inner headlights (what used to be high beams) are the cornering lights and are operated by a 55 watt H3 bulb. These come on individually when turning if the headlight switch is in auto (and it's dark). They also both come on when backing up if in auto. The outside lights are the high and low beam lights, and should be a D1S bulb assuming you have xenon lights. These lights also pivot when turning if switch is in auto (and it's dark).
