- Q: PLEASE HELP! ok i have a 97 isuzu rodeo, auto,4x4, 3.2. Yesterday i went outside to start it and when i turned the key to ON, it said on the dash that i was in 3RD, but when i turn the headlights on it says its in reverse. If i push on the trans and move the whole Engine, trans and transfer-case assembly up, the car says its in park and acts normal, until i go to start and then it wont start. and goes back into 3rd, I have had the rrabs and brake light on, and now they shut off, the check engine light has also turned off (the code was for o2 sensors). And now when i do start the car and drive it, the trans shifts fairly hard. I AM LOST ON THIS! can someone please point me in a direction!
- Check your wiring is my first thought.... maybe someone tried to hack in a stereo system and the electrical tape finally came loose. You have a short somewhere, try looking behind the stereo head unit, most of the dash and trans hump circuits go through that area.
- Q: I have a 2001 Grand Prix GT with the 3.8 and auto. Today while sitting at a light the car idled normally, but when I have it gas it shut off. It took about 30 seconds before it would restart. There has been no issue since then. Other issues with the car would be occasionally the tach will stop working and the traction light will come on and there is a weird smell occasionally with the heater on.

- Q: I have a 99 Grand AM GT. Service engine light came on. Took it to auto zone for a diagnostics test, the test said bad gas cap. I bought another gas cap, and replaced the potentially faulty gas cap. the light is still on. Of course it could be another problem regarding the evap system.How long can it take for the service engine soon light to go away after a problem has been resolved?

- That sounds like the Evap sensor has detected a fault could be something as simple as replacing your gas cap or making sure it is on tight. Too a frozen solenoid sensor. Happened on my frontier. Replace the cap first and see if it goes out.

- That depends on which part of the system you need. The most common problem in that system it the secondary air injection pump. It is located under the vehicle kind of in a little corner between the frame rail and crossmember. Because they are under the truck, they tend to get dirt, debris, and moisture in them which causes them to go bad. Another common failure that we see where I work is people drive the vehicle through deep water and the pupm gets full of water and shorts out. Anyhow, there are other parts to the system, but that is the most common to fail.

- air bag light blinking means the system is disabled due to a system failure.the most common cause is the connections in the steering colum.
- Q: My automatic headlights didn‘t turn off the other night causing a dead battery. Would this be caused by the switch on the dash (it has a dial to adjust length of lights after turning car off), or would it be somewhere in the computer or other places?
- These car headlights are controlled with a triple five timer chip, if water has got into your system and shorted past the timer chip then the lights would stay on. There should be a manual override switch which should sort this out for you. I have encountered this before i hope this helps

- not a good idea. you should find out what is triggering it or you may find out you've blown your engine
