Q: Waste car headlights where the goods and more
Waste car headlamps where the more waste car headlamps generally some of the local large car repair shop, the local scrap vehicle dismantling plant and the local auto parts and scrap collection stations should be more supply.
Q: In my 1986.5 Toyota Supra, the battery light is always on. The car starts, runs, and the alternator always charges the battery great I have brand new terminals. I am mechanically inclined but I have never run into this before I‘d some feedback maybe help me toss some ideas into the air on what it could be, also the wires look great and the voltage reads fine and the grounding and tightness of the wires are solid.
It means that there is an issue with your charging system. Maybe the belt is slipping on your alternator? Maybe it is starting to go bad, but not to a noticeable point yet. It could also just be a bad sensor, it happens in old cars. When you leave your car in Aux position, with stereo on, does your battery drain fast? Could be a bad battery.
Q: My 2007 Subaru WRX had the Check Engine Light come up, and I took it to Auto Zone for a computer code scan, and here is the result:P0456- Evaporative emission control system malfunctionWhat exactly is that? I know it‘s NOT a fuel/loose fuel cap (that‘d be P0457), so what am I looking at and/or replacing here? Thanks.
The problem with P0456 is that it is so broad - it simply says there is a small leak in the evaporative control system, the emission system that prevents fuel vapors from being released into the atmosphere (sounds simple, but they manage to make it complex). The first source has a good definition and details. P0457 is a rare code that is not nearly as sensitive as P0456 - it will pop up if you leave the cap way loose or off. (See source 2 for the definition but not the details.) The most likely cause is a bad seal on the gas cap, especially given the age of your Subie. The other causes of evap leak codes are mostly deterioration of other rubber parts - I fought a battle of cracked hoses near the gas tank on my old Volvo - and your vehicle is too new for that and too old for misfitted parts. I bet if you get a new gas cap from the dealer it will fix the problem. Aftermarket gas caps are not to be trusted.
Q: I just purchased a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT with about 140k miles on it. It has been driving just fine for 2 days, but I decided to fuel up with mid grade gas instead of the recommended premium, and now the check engine light is of with the flashing green cruise light. Could the mid grade gas cause this? The engine still sounds fine and I don‘t see any other problems.
The CEL light is always related to an emissions control problem. Some car's computers also trigger the light for non-emissions issues. The wrong gas won't affect the CEL light. Since you imply that the light came on after you filled up, I would first look at the gas cap to ensure it is properly seated. Also, if you overfill the tank, the vent and purge systems will cause a code to be set. The liquid gas will block the purge lines. Take the car to an auto parts store. Some will scan your code for free in hopes of selling you a needed part. In my internet search, it seems that the CEL causes the green cruise light to flash, probably in an effort to draw your attention to the dash panel and the CEL light. If you fix the cause of the CEL problem, you'll probably fix the cruise light flashing problem also.
Q: In my 1996 Nissan Quest, the light behind the vent/heat system panel is out. Is it a fuse or bulb?
Auto climate control or manual front and rear heat and A/C. either can be taken apart and bulbs either turn into sockets or are soldered onto the circuit board.
Q: The engine on my ‘05 VW Passat recently flooded while driving in low area during heavy rain. Had everything fixed and car is running perfectly. Yesterday the check engine light came on but the car seems to be running perfectly. What should I check?
There is a data connector that a tester can be hooked up to that will tell you what needs attention. A VW dealer can do the test at little to no cost; then it's your decision what to do with the info. Don't be pressured into a repair until after you've had a couple of estimates.
Q: that code means secondary air injection system fault . one of the probable causes is air pump defective or hoses blocked . can any body tell me where it is? or what part of the intake this is at . another code was for the transmission but i don‘t know what it is, but if it is throwing a code for the transmission could the transmission be bad or will it be a sensor?
Air injection pump, aka smog pump, is driven by a belt on the front of the engine. It has hoses or tubes which then pump this air into the Exhaust Manifolds near the exhaust ports, and/or before the catalytic converter. There are also other systems that don't use a pump at all. Either way, has nothing to do with the Intake Manifold. On many vehicles, there are also diverter valves and such, which control when the air is or is not pumped. These can be controlled by engine vacuum or electrical solenoids, depending on the vehicle. This is the generic explanation of that code, but for GM I would need Make, Model, and Year for more vehicle specific info. Subaru is also slightly different. P0410 Secondary air injection system fault – The Air Injection system is monitored for faults Probable Cause[s] 1. Circuit relay defective or fuse open 2. Check connector and wiring 3. AIR pump defective or hoses blocked
Q: yesterday i went to the gas station when i went to start my car it wouldnt turn over or do anything so i got a jump start and it seemed to run ok but after a few miles the radio and dash lights started to flicker on and off. then after a little while my car stalled and died at a red light and wouldnt crank over again it would just make a fast clicking noise i got it towed home and let it sit overnight and today when i went to try to start it, it started up just fine without me doin anything to it help what could be wrong i dont know where to start oh btw its a 88 toyota tercel
No It means your brake fluid was low Maybe caused by a leaking brake line, wheel cyclinder or caliper .
Q: what does it mean when your check engine light comes on?
Open the drivers door, under the dash is the OBD 2 port, plug in the code reader, read the code this will tell you what engine system or component failed and triggered the light to go on, fix the problem. Some auto parts stores do this for free, or have your mechanic deal with it.
