Q: When I try to start my car the auto theft light comes on and it won‘t start. Why won‘t my car start?: It may help if we know what kind of car that you have. If it is a GM car and the theft light comes on, you have a problem with the anti-theft system. When there is a problem with the theft system it will not allow the car to start. Generally on GM cars, it is usually the ignition lock cylinder or key problem. Most cars now have a computer chip or for GM a resistor chip installed in the key for prevention of theft. A reputable mechanic should be able to help you if they have the proper tools. However, with a theft system problem you may be better off taking it to the dealer. Hope this helps.

Q: I Had Took my car to auto zone for a test because my engine light is on and it had 0 codes. Why is that?: They must be using a cheap reader. The cheap readers can't read all the systems. I have 2 different readers you can plug the one in to the car and it will say no codes unplug it and plug the other reader in and it will say 6 codes because it can access all systems.

Q: I have a 2007 Chevy Aveo5. In the last year I have owned it the water pump, coolant hoses, timing belt, and throttle body have been replaced. Sometimes on start up it idles rough until you start driving. Today when driving the check engine light starting blinking. I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. Q: I was looking into buying this 91 sonoma with the TBI 4.3 engine. I had it running for about 5 minutes while I was inspecting everything, and then the service light came on. So I checked for codes and got none. Turned the car back on, light came back on a couple minutes later. Gauges read fine, no leaks, idle, or acceleration problems. I have the same problem with my 92 except it does have a problem every now and then. What could this be on this truck?: How did you check the codes? Did you do it the voodoo way, or use an actual code reader? For years I've used the voodoo way. There are multiple ways to do this, and it depends upon the car. For example, in my town and country, I have to push and hold the two trip buttons on the dash while turning the key to accessory, and after five seconds let go. Then it shows me the codes where the mileage should be. With other cars, the check engine light can blink out in morse code, etc. The trouble is, this isn't a sure-fire way to get all codes. Some codes can't be expressed this way, depending. A month ago my check engine light came on, and the voodoo method of checking codes didn't work - it said there were no codes. So I had to borrow a code reader from a friend. Sure enough, it was an oxygen sensor gripe. Most auto parts stores will check your codes for free. Good luck!

Q: I have an 2005 road star. I found a pair of 7 auto headlights for 1/2 the price of one motorcycle headlight. it should fit the bucket but what about the 12 volt system?: The problem will be in the bucket. The clamping system to hold the bulb is different. Still works though. Did the same on my old Suzuki. I preferred the wide, flat beam of the auto bulb over the narrower motorcycle bulb. $4.99 for something I liked and that lasted, or $29.99 for what wouldn't last a week. Tough choice. Hot melt glue took care of the mounting problem.

Q: The service engine light on my 2006 Nissain recently came on. We took it to our trusted mechanic and he was puzzled as to why it came on (the code was for a transmission problem that is very rare, especially on a car with less than 30,000 miles). He reset it, and told us that if it comes back, to take it to the dealership as it may be covered by the warranty. It came back so we went to the nissain dealership. It was $120 to check out the problem. They told us that nothing was wrong, and reprogrammed the service engine light. I repeatedly asked WHY the light came on. The dealership thought I should be happy that nothing was wrong with the car. To me, having a light randomnly pop off that requires a $120 fix is a complete and utter scam. If it‘s scheduled maintanence, then they should explain that.instead of simply charging me money and telling me I should be happy. Are these lights scams?: Service engine lights are rather sensitive. Sometimes a minor bump on a component can set it off even if nothing is wrong. You shouldn't pay $120 to get someone to check out the light, and instead by an engine error code readout device for $40-50 and then talk to your reliable repair shop. Never take your car to the dealer for any maintenance/repairs unless you need a new transmission or engine and it's under warranty.

Q: The light illuminates when there is a malfunction of an exhaust gas related component, and the system is not functioning properly so that the exhaust gas regulation values are not satisfied What does this mean? I would take it to a dealer before it turns into a serious problem.

Q: The noise isn‘t like wow, thats gonna wake up the neighbors but, it‘s noticable. and I just bought it, I hope it can be fixed.: not necessarily. something as serious as that would just seize the engine. if the engine ran too long w/o oil it probably did all the damage that is internal not an easy fix. pistons could get stuck in the bore so on.

Q: In my personal view i will get it on the ps3 because the playstation 3 i heard is more reliable then the xbox 360 and if i get gta4 i wouldnt wanna get the the three red lights which means system failure which the 360 is famous for,i will be playing gta4 for hours and hours and im sure if i get it for ps3 i wont have any problems: Try spraying vinegar water onto the shower curtain after each shower and make sure the curtain is spread widely to allow it to dry completely.
