- Q: The check engine light came up on my catera and took it Autozone and Advance Auto parts. They scanned it and this what it shows P0171 P0174. Details belowP0171: The PCM has determined that during testing, the fuel system bank 1 was too lean. (Bank #1 indentifies that the location of cylinder 1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank).Probable causes:1. If bank 1 2 codes set together suspect fuel pressure or MAF sensor.2. Oxygen sensor3. Ignition misfire4. - Ok, forget the fuel filter. The guys at AZ are idiots, thats why they are working there. Anyways what sets that code off usually is either a vacuum leak of some type, or either a failed o2 sensor. If you have a misfire on that Catera generally you will know it. You're gas mileage is probaly kinda crappy so start for looking for a vacuum leak. No leaks chances are it's probaly a failed o2 sensor. Good Luck.

Tested again and failed, again for EGR flow and now system too lean.Dealership can‘t find the problem,but recommended I have fuel injector service,engine decarbonization,and new hoses they didn‘t specify which ones.I‘ve spent over a grand trying to fix and I don‘t want to give the dealer any more money because they haven‘t been able to fix it.Trying to qualify for a waiver from the Illinois emissions but they won‘t give it to me unless the engine light is off,it doesn‘t matter if the car fails. What should I do?Can I perform the engine decarbonization and injector service myself, and if so how?and will that even make a difference?Is there a way to turn off the engine light without disconnectin battery to get qualify 4 waiver?
- If I were u,i will remove the bulb which is giving you the run around. Go for the test without the bulb,so light not there to fail you. once passed,u can fix it back. Now this electronic systems can show light for various reasons.From Loose tank caps to Co2 sensors. Even auto transmission sensors show check engine lights. The diagonise will show exact. Only possibilty check auto transmission sensor.This could be the culprit. try the bulb trick and get your vehicle moving.

- Q: usualy when you start ur car all the lights turn on then off, its like if its checking all the systems, but one day the light of the abs doesnt goes off, then turn off the car and on again and the light turn off, but eventualy that dont work anymore and the light its always on, no matter if turn off the car, i had a problem before with the abs but the light goes on until move the car(it was a fault speed sensor) so i figure out this time would be the hydraulic unit, so i change it for a used but tested working unit and the problem continue, so i dont now if there are sonething else or what could be.

- Q: I have a problem with a 1985 Chevy G30 van with the hydroboost system.The brakes are locking up from time to time and also are grabby at times. I know that the front brakes are locking up but I am not sure yet about the rears. If I let it set for a while the pressure bleeds of and they may be OK for a week or more. I have bled the front brakes to remove any dirt. Opening the bleeders does not to seem to instantly release the brakes either. The brake pedal does not seem to be sticking and the actuating rod length has never been changed.I have been told the master cylinder will not cause this. What about the hydro booster or proportioning valve? The brake system warning light DOES NOT come on when this happens.I am desperate here as this is the truck I use to make my living as a contractor.If anyone has experienced this please contact me.

- Since I haven't seen the photos you speak of there's no way to tell but, low light photos really aren't a camera issue - they're a lens issue. The camera only captures what's sent to it by the lens that's mounted. I'd also have to believe that there was some software editing done.
