- Q: 2001 audi a4. Along with the traction light (exclamation point ) breaks seem to be working fine though. But when i do turn on a curve going right, i hear a noise in the front left wheel but its not flat or anything. Anyway, It was on when i drove to school, then when i got out of class, (like 3 hours later) it was off the whole ride home. School is about 20 minutes away. - It's because your new amp and sub are using more power than the alternator can supply, so the electrical system is sucking power out of the battery. This is not normal. The battery is only supposed to discharge when you use it to start the car or when you have the engine off and you're using accessories. Never ever while the engine is running. Otherwise, it is a storage device. There is a red idiot light that tells you when the battery is discharging rather than charging. Idiot lights are red if they indicate a problem that will force you to walk soon. You need an alternator with more output. You can buy one. See your local auto parts store. Take your checkbook. They're not cheap.

- probably needs a charcoal canister assembly. usually comes with the charcoal canister and the vent solenoid. i think its only available through toyota, but they go bad frequently
- Q: My engine light came on 3 days ago.I took my car to Auto Zone they hooked up a scope and it read it was the gas cap.I cleaned the gas cap and the surronding area of the cap area.He turned to senser light at my request and the next day the light came on again.I live 90 miles away from a Toyota dealer.Does anyone have anymore suggestions?
- There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to tell if the Gas cap is causing your Check Engine Light to come on using the OBDII tester (they don't have a scope at Auto Zone). You would need to Visualy inspect (was the gasket GONE) or use a Fuel Cap pressure tester to verify. What they did find out, was that the CODE recorded in your computer had something to do with an Evaporative System Leak (I hope). Of more use would be to post here the actual Code (or codes) P0xxx that they did retrieve from your computer. If you don't have it go back and have them read the codes again and Post your story again. BTW. it is against state law for Autozone or other auto parts stores that are not a licenesed REPAIR center (In California) to turn off the Check Engine light. (Turning off the light is a repair and they are not licensed to do repairs) Now YOU can turn the light off with their computer. Do not buy any parts based solely on having the codes read. Up to 40% of the time the code is telling you that the Device (for example an O2 sensor) is working perfectly and reporting (sensing) a problem that is occuring earlier in the process. DIAGNOSIS tells you what the problem isnot the symptom (the code is a symptom). Find the codes from last time or have them read again and REPOST your request. If it is someting bigger then it most likely will be covered under your 8 year 80,000 mile warranty that all cars in the US have (Except CA only cars they only get 7/70)
- Q: I want to get a navagation system for my truck but i was wondering if they sold any that didnt have to be installed. like a portable one? is that possible? my finance works for a company where he goes all around the county visiting people at home but the problem is that he has a hard time finding a lot of the places and we cant install one into his work truck because its his companys truck not his so i was thinking maybe they had a portable navagation system where he can type in where he is leaving from and where he needs to go and it can give him a map of how to get there or anything like that...any ideas? please help
- Almost all GPS ( Navigation systems ) for auto's are portable Most come with a suction mount that goes on your windsheild and plug into a cigarette lighter . There are so many different ones on the market today that the only thing I can say is decide on price range , they start at about $200 and go right up to and over $1000. but basically they all do the job . Some units come with MP3 players built in which to me is a waiste of time because how many vehicles today don't have radio's .. My favorite is made by cobra.. the Nav1 but it is over $500.00 . . what you look for is mapping software .. is it up to date ? Points of interest ? this is a great feature if your looking for a border crossing a service station or even a bank machine . There are many brands on the market.. Magellon , Mio , Garmin , Tom tom , Cobra Pioneer ...and so many more.. Another thing to look for is memory ? is the mapping software pre installed on an internal hard drive or does it use an SD card . Mine uses an Sd card which is ok but I would preffer a built in drive . Bottom line is most of the brands I have listed have a good reputaion and the only thing left is for you to decide how much your willing to spend .. check Ebay you can always find a good deal there I love my GPS .. in my line of work It is a life saver ..Im sure you and your fiance will too even if its just to watch yourself travel as a dot on a map ..... Oh one other thing .. if your fiancee drives a big rig that's a different storey ... you need to look for a gps that give you the option of using Truck routes .. other wise it may take you under a low bridge or on a parkway in Manhatten Ny that restricts Commercial vehicles ( big fine for that ) Cobra , Magellan and Garmin all have this feature in some of their products ...
- Q: Does anyone know how to reset a check engine light on a 1995 honda civic?I live in NYS and I just want to pass inspection. I just lost my job and don‘t have the $$$ to actually fix the problem right now. Again, I just want to pass my inspection. Someone told me that if you unplug the positive terminal of the battery, wait about 20 minutes, then replug it in the codes should be reset and it will be off for a while.Does anyone know if this is true? - There are two lights in that year Accord. The MAINT REQD light and the actual check engine light. Any reputable mechanic should know how to reset the maintenance light. Just hold the trip meter while you turn the key to the run position and keep holding it until it goes out. Unfortunately, I don't think that's actually your problem. A flashing engine light ALWAYS means that a car is misfiring. You probably need new plugs or have a faulty coil. There are also little seals that keep oil from getting from the valve train down to the spark plug wells. If these are bad then oil in the spark plug tubes will cause a misfire, as well. Nothing too difficult or too expensive.
- Q: i have a 99 gmc yukon i got from my bro-in-law. it need some real work. i replace the hubs,frt cv alxes,shocks 4, brakes frt and rear changed all oils and gear oils, even transmission, also brought the blue auto-trac fluid for trans-fer case, fuel filter and grease complete truck. but my service 4wd light comes on now on the dash, when i go from 2wd to 4wd and the only way to get it back to 2wd is i have to stop and cut the truck off then restart it place in drive and hit the 2wd button and it will return to 2wd. HELP do i need to replace the 2 senors on this system for it to work right or it there something else
- i'm assuming you have the 4 button activate the left fringe of the sprint. maximum circumstances they set a 2725 code which does not activate a delicate to sign a difficulty. that's an inner change failure,replace it. i'm exceedingly constructive the guidelines say that we are actually not think to get own or harsh in the direction of yet another. I do have 15+ years GM education and function seen this code thousands of circumstances although I do agree that codes could desire to be checked first and a few easy potential and floor tests. i'm sorry i did not write that each and one and all out in my first answer.
