Q:I have a 2001 volvo s60 (I love it so much!!!) any way the check engine light came on this morning, it drives the same nothing seems different, i took it to advanced auto to run a diagnostics and it came out no codes but the light is still on, i know nothing about a volvo‘s engine (horrible i know) so i really have no idea what is triggering my engine light, oh the service light comes on every time i start the car but goes off like 30 seconds later and its done that since i bought the car last week. any help would be wonderful!! thank you!!: Volvo Check Engine Light

Like faster then the other, or would a pre flash force subjects to blink etc?: The Canon pre-flash autofocus assist has a serious disadvantage. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly people react! Take a group shot with the flash; the autofocus flash fires; everyone decides you have taken the photo and looks away just as the exposure is made. That said... The onboard flash on any DSLR is utter garbage so why would you use it anyway! If you use a Canon speedlite then they have an autofocus assist system that projects a red hatch pattern and works extremely well. My 20 yr old EOS film camera has one of these red beams built into the body. If only Canon had carried it over to their DSLRs!!

Q:My 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix check engine light came on at about 93,000 miles. The code said P2440, so my mechanic replaced the air check valve the secondary air check valve. After replacing those parts my check engine light is still on. What could the problem be now?: Time for a new car anyway ! I spent 200 ballons on my mercedes to get rid of a check engine light and it came on about 20 hours later and they refuse to fix it try that one !

Q:I have seen some comments about unplugging the battery, but I am not sure how to proceed.: Have you hit anything with the front bumper, like maybe a snow drift. It is possible that the problem is just a sensor connection. Make sure to remove the fuse for the air bag/SRS system before testing any components. Some auto parts stores can recover the code and tell you what the code stands for, and most will do it for free. I Do Not recommend disconnecting the battery. Yes, it will clear the code, but now you don't know where the problem is. When the battery is disconnected on some vehicles, it will set a check engine light for charging system malfunction. Q:my gf got into an accident last night. she said everything went well then when she went to turn she couldnt completly and ran into an embankment. also last week it was raining hard and she said the same thing happen except that she almost hit the sidewall. she said all this time for a while her low trac light has been on but never said anything. she said it felt like a glitchwhen steering the first time. what problems would set off that light that would cause a prob? she has a 95 camero auto v6: Not sure that a low trac light would do it - as most of the GM traction controls of that era have to do with limiting engine power during low traction conditions. However, some of the newer controls would pulse various brake pads using the ABS system, which in a turning condition, depending on how hard the pulses were, could make the car turn sharper, or make it much more difficult to turn. I wouldn't put it out of the question, but seems a bit far fetched.

Q:2003 Nissan 350z..... i bought it used, and put a new sound system inside of it.... now all of a sudden, the sound system will not work, and my entire air system has stopped: Check engine light and the sound system may be unrelated. Also I'm not sure what you mean by air system (air suspension or AC?). For the check engine light you first have to get the engine diagnostic code scanned to know what it mean. You can get that done at many auto parts dealer (autozone). You can also get a scanner as cheap as $50 at sears (on sale). As for the sound system, take it back to the radio installer. If they did an amateurish job the wires could have shaken loose (or worse yet caused a short that cause the check engine light - unlikely). Good Luck...

Q:What are the differences between the 2010 Mazda 3 Sedan and the 2011 model?: The only changes for 2011 were- Power door locks with auto-lock function added to entry level i SV and i Sport 4-door models Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control (TCS) added to i SV and i Sport models Top-level s Grand Touring adds Moonroof Bose audio system as standard features.but Bi-Xenon HID headlights, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS), LED tail lights, rain-sensing wipers and auto on/off headlight control, which were standard on the 2010, are now optional. The s Sport 4-door also has the option to add the same features noted above for the Grand Touring model. It basically makes the s Sport 4-door the same as a Grand Touring without heated, leather seats, power driver's seat and automatic climate control. Celestial Blue is no longer available on any Mazda3 4-door; it was available on 2010 s Sport and Grand Tourinig 4-door models; for 2011, it is only available on 5-door hatchback models.

Q:m airbag and service light are stck on even tho i hav checked and tried everythi to get them off: Well if it's a 1995 or newer,there's a plug under the dash that you can go to any auto zone or place like it and their analyzer can shut the lights off but if there's a problem,they will come back on fairly quick.I bought a analyzer for $69.I have used it 100's of times!! ps.SOMETIMES,disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so will reset the system.Good Luck. Try the battery disconnect.But if theirs A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG SYSTEM,It wont go off.But I think the battery diss. is best right now.But it sounds like there's a problem with the airbag system.

Q:just replaced the mass air sensor and i cant get the check engine light off. any suggestions?: cold air intakes are the same type of junk that the mini super chargers were/fakes and junk will do nothing for your car because the car has an electric computer controlling the engine/that limits timing/fuel injection/trans shifts and all types of power out put//i have seen claims of 50 to 100 hp for this bunch of sewer pipes and never any real proof/the only real thing is a guy with a super laptop and a computer program and go for it/if they gave 100 hp they would be on every car on the planet/cost me a lot of money to get about 35 hp/and i never had one/they come on supercharged cars for obvious reasons

Q:The steady yellow check engine light has been on for over two weeks and I replaced the gas cap and had a mechanic do the smoke test and nothing could be found wrong or no leaks and engine light did not come off, How can I reset the code or check engine light to come off on my car?: If the check engine light is from the gas cap, the code will reset itself after a few engine start stop cycles. Usually in a couple of days. If the light is still on, the mechanic is either unethical or incompetent and sold you a gas cap that you didn't need. The very next thing that I would replace if I were you would be my mechanic. It could also be just as easily be a leaking O ring in a EVAP system line, it could be a loose fitting, it could be a damaged EVAP system line. It could be that the mechanic sold you the incorrect gas cap. Some of the better OBD 2 diagnostic scan tools have the ability to erase the trouble codes which reset the check engine light. The cheap scan tools used by the auto parts stores usually can not erase codes, just read them. What I would do if I were you. Take the car to a different reputable mechanic. Explain to them what has happened. See if they will erase the trouble code for you. If there is no problem, the light will stay out. If the check engine light comes back on, there is still a problem with the EVAP system. For now, you can safely drive the vehicle with this trouble code. This will not affect the way the engine runs in any way. This is a emissions issue. If there is actually a problem it means that you are venting gasoline vapors from the fuel tank. However, this should eventually be addressed.
