Q:I have the K warning light on my dash, I think it could be a problem with the auto-diagnostics system. Car starts and runs but i cannot get rid of the light. Can any one help.thanksmineral: My heavens, I never have been flashed, but I did unintentionally flash a few folks once. I was in the hospital some time back and decided to take a stoll to the vending area. Well, I wasn't thinking about what I was wearing and, let's just say that those hospital gowns don't leave a lot to the imagination on the backside. The nurse came up from behind me and put a blanket over my shoulders . . . I was wondering why it was a little drafty back there!

Q:About two months ago, I replaced the spark plugs in my car. I did not go to a mechanic. I’ve since driven about 1,000 miles with no problem. The other day the “service engine soon” light came on and has not gone off. I checked the owner’s manual and it says that when this light comes on and is not flashing (which mine isn’t) that the diagnostic system has detected an emissions problem. Well, there is nothing wrong with my emissions but I don’t want to pay a mechanic just to turn the light off. Anyone know how to turn this light off?: It sounds like you are selling the car and want it off. But, you need a scan tool to turn it off. I would recommend disclosing that it has a check engine light coming on so that you dont mislead the buyer. If you cant reset it ,m then theres definately a problem that needs to be adressed. Either The PCM has a problem, or there is a EVAP sensor thats showing a constant vacuum or pressure thats failing when key is on. Perameters have to be vehicle driving between like 45-60 , with between 1/2 and 3/4 tank of fuel (these figures are not spot on but close its been a while) for it to run this test, so its not a test that runs often. The crieteria has to be right, so if its not clearing, what I am saying is that for some reason its flagging the code everytime you clear it or its just not clearing, which tells me its got to be one of the above mentioned. Unless you know how to dig into that problem, you do sound like theres a legitimate problem with this P0442.

Q:when I drive it uphill it looses power but when I drive straight on and downwards it is fine .Can anyone tell me what might be the reason why my truck looses it‘s power going uphill even if I step on the gas pedal the velocity still same and if possible be more specific , thank you I really would appreciate it ?: its probably still under warranty take to your dealer,unless you have a scan tool and the knowledge you will never fix it.

Q:my check engine light is on and when auto-zone scanned it, it came up as transmission, well I need to get the hoses in my transmission changed but I was just wondering if that would cause the light to go on. Also my battery light is on and I‘m getting the alternator belt changed this weekend, would that cause my battery light to come on? THanks so much. I have a 97‘ plymouth breeze with a 2.0 engine.: Yes issues with your transmission can turn on your check engine light, the hoes leaking are causing the transmission fluid to get low and possibly set some trans related codes, once you get them replaced and the fluid topped off, have the codes cleared and see if they return. If your belt is broken or slipping (too loose) yes it can cause your battery light to come on.but if you dont hear any squealing from the belt you might need at alternator.have your shop check the charging system before they replace the belt.Good luck!

Q:Please Read Everything Below.I got a car back in October it is a 2002 Chevy Malibu and it was cold out so I haven‘t used the A/C until yesterday. I drove with my windows down to my destination so A/C was off and my car was in the sun outside in 80 degree weather for two hours then when left I turned the A/C on for the first time and it was emitting room temp air the whole half hour drive so I figured it might need a recharge or maybe it is leaking. Today I left and turned to A/C on and it seemed to be working a little bit better (50 degrees out) so I turned it on high after a couple minutes and the check engine light came on. I was just wondering if it could be a problem with the A/C that is causing it. Also if so can having low freon or whatever the refridgerant cause it or would it be more serious like a leak.Thanks in Advance. Q:P0700 P0871 P1776 what are they and do they relate to the same problem? The car runs good except once in a while when i slow down and then speed up it down shifts and stays that way until I stop and turn off the motor and restart then it is fine again . Can you inform me more about this ? Thanks: they are all transmission codes, they have to do with the TCC. The TCC is when the torque converter gos into lock up for overdrive. The codes are not a good thing to have, you will need to take in to a transmission shop, or the a dealer. Its not a cheep thing to fix, But 1st check transmission fluid level. Good luck.

Q:i bought HID lights for my bfs 1996 honda civic for $100 bucks. The instillation fee is also $100. is it worth it or should i attempt to put them in myself? the auto stoore said i shouldnt have trouble trying to do this but on one of my other questions i asked about how to do this myself, somone posted that it is unsafe or impossible to do this ? i am unsure -_-: Patch it with an oversize patch (a boot) about 25 bucks
