Q: My 2000 Toyota Celica GT has a check engine light on it. I took it to an auto parts store and had it scanned. It gave me the following codes:P0300 - Random Misfire DetectedP0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire DetectedP0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)I put fuel injector cleaner in it today, as well as cleaned the MAF sensor. Sometimes when I‘m accelerating , the check engine light flashes then go back to staying on. I‘ve checked all over for vacuum leaks and cannot find a thing. I‘ve noticed a little oil on top of the engine, but I‘m not sure if this is the problem. It idles at around 1500RPM when I start it then it drops down to 500-700RPM. If I turn my lights on the fuel gauge and clock dim. What should I do?Can I perform the engine decarbonization and injector service myself, and if so how?and will that even make a difference?Is there a way to turn off the engine light without disconnectin battery to get qualify 4 waiver?: Yes, an exhaust leak can cause problems like this. So try fixing the exhaust from the head to the muffler. You see one gaping hole, there could be others. Considering that this is one of the few cars that you can find new cast exhaust manifolds for that are aftermarket, it would not be surprising if you need one. The gasket/s I suspect are in the exhaust system and not internal the engine.

Q: I have a 2008 Corolla with almost 200k miles and my check engine light has been coming on and off for months. I got the car over two years ago and I have put on about 40k on it. Almost never does a engine light come on for no reason. Anytime the car detects something that may cause more emissions you get a light. Q: Went and got a stereo installed everything worked fine b4 now my clock dome light and trunk lights do not work I drove my car to my mechanic and they checked my fuses they are fine they said to go back and ask the people who installed my stereo system if they would pay for iti paid $430 for this system and all it was, was a new cd/mp3 player and sub/ampi already had to go back because the sub they gave me had a patchthey replaced it .btw when they were done with it my SRS light was on i sat and waited 2 hours for them to finally turn it off and i waited for them to try and fix the clock for them to tell me its probably not even worth fixing after i told them it worked before I‘m pretty angryso my question is am I stuck with the bill or should I ask them to help pay it or all?: F them. tell them that if they dont fix it you will be involving legal help. cuz that's just not right. and agreed with above comment if they dont fix it tell them to take it all out and demand your money back.

Q: I am working on a 92 Camry, 1.6 motor, auto tranny. There is light brown oil in the radiator. The owner of the car said he drained the water several times but there is stil that same color oil in there. I was thinking either the gasket or radiator from the tranny. I checked the tranny fluid and the motor oil and it was clean no water in it. The motor runs and sounds reallly good. Could it be possible, when he purchased the car, the previouse owner had a bad head gasket and ended up getting oil in the radiator, then repaired it and now the oil in the radiator is so thick that it hasnt flushed out when we replaced (flushed) the coolent? There is a little smoke out the tailpipe but it doesnt smell sweet like coolent. It‘s very little smoke but constant, maybe bad rings? there is also water dripping from the tailpipe, and the weather is not cold. I dont remember if he said the water in the rad goes low fast. anyone know? I‘m changing the head gasket anyway on Wed but dont want 2.: With the Radiator Cap off and the Engine running for a minute or so do you smell Exhaust in the Radiator? Yes, Head Gasket.
