- Q: 2001 audi a4. Along with the traction light (exclamation point ) breaks seem to be working fine though. But when i do turn on a curve going right, i hear a noise in the front left wheel but its not flat or anything. Anyway, It was on when i drove to school, then when i got out of class, (like 3 hours later) it was off the whole ride home. School is about 20 minutes away. So if i take it to auto zone will they help me out? And is it safe to drive?
- Only an audi dealer can scan the abs system for codes. Sounds like a bad wheel speed sensor(would also explain the traction light)

They called me and told me engine light was not on when they got ready to check it and the computer did not even store record of this code. This is under warranty and I justquestion what is going on here. Is this possible that I drive for 3 days with engine light on, get code reading at auto store and now dealer says it never happened. ????
- 1st of all to add feedback to the other 2 posts: dealers do not like to do warranty work as they cut the labor tremoundsly --average payout is 3 tenths of an hour for checkout ...were talking getting paid for 18 minutes. And yes its possible for your gas cap to give you a P0455 code but so are other things such as emmision hoses with cracks/splits. Your vehicle goes through system checks all the time when it fails a check, your check engine light comes on, until it is either cleared by a scan tool or the system has 3 suscessful run cycles it will turn the light back out as it thinks the system is ok. - Q: i have a 2001 chrysler sebring that the BCM went bad. so I went to the auto salvage and they replaced my BCM. thing is, when i got home i locked up my car as usual. then later i wanted to go to the store, so i attempted to get back in my car when the horn kept beeping and parking lights flashing. i‘m assuming the BCM was original to the 2001 sebring with some anti theft. when i bought the car used from a private person he only gave me a key, no remote or anything, just a key. well turns out that the BCM in there that got fried was the wrong BCM for that car to begin with, thus the BCM frying on me, so anyway. now that the right one is there i need to know how to bypass the system so my horn will stop beeping and i can start my car because my car will start but die immediately i think is due to the anti theft. so how can i get my car at least to the dealership so i can have the remote lock/unlock programmed? any advice? please.
- Have you look at the computer it may be bad a bad computer will not let the car start it will crank all day but if the computer is bad it will not start at all
- Q: My AC does not work and i am thinking that it might be related to that but i am not sure. I hae recently added a PA system however it seems to working fine and that fuse is not blowing at all. When i replace the fuse it works for a short time before blowing once more! Please Help
- Of course, it is obvious that you either have a short somewhere on the equipment to which the fuses concerned are blowing, or you might be using lower rated fuses than what is recomended by the manufacturer. However, keep something in mind for future reference. Do not keep changing the blown fuses, or you might end up destroying the part that the fuse is protecting! Just change the fuse once, if it blows, do not bother to attempt putting another fuse, until the problem is fixed. Also, always make sure that you replace all fuses with the exact same rated fuse as the manufacturer recommended for that bank. Do not use lower or higher rated fuses, and never connect the fuse terminals with aftermarket wires or conductors.
- Q: My sister has had all her tires slashed at work 5 times in the last year and it's getting stupid. Her work won't put up cameras and the police (many of which are friends of hers) can't do anything about it. So what is a good system to catch this joker? She works midnights at a nursing home, so night vision a must. Cost at this point isn't, although cheaper would be better. 5 sets of tires isn't cheap. If it was happening more often I would be in a parked car with shotgun.

- Q: The car left the house fine, with no indicator lights. After I got back in after leaving the bank, both the Brake and Battery light came on. I parked it back at the house and the fluid level is fine, the oil level is fine, and the belts are intact (as far as I can tell). I went back later to start the car and it sounded like it turned over, although it apparently did not as the RPMs were 0, it was super quiet, and when put into gear, it would not budge or rev. The brake jammed up too but I was able to get it back in park. then the check engine and oil pressure lights came on! The air was blowing hot and the radio was still playing. I turned it back off and it revved and the air was cool again, although the original two lights were still one (the others turned off). I didn‘t put it into gear so I can‘t speak on it this time around. The car has had a recent alternator and battery change (last year) and a wreck sometime long ago, before my dad got it.WHAT IS UP?
- Multiable warning lights sounds like another alternator issue. Better have the charging system and battery tested. If you can hook up a battery charger and a auto parts store is near by drive it over or call dad to check to test and replace the alternator. Good Luck
- Q: I just got this check engine light. I‘m pretty sure my car is well kept.I need to change the spark plugs sometime, according to the maintenance schedule.The only thing I have done different is put in 0% ethanol fuel (no added ethanol) in the vehicle (which I thought was great at the time!). Now, the gas has done pretty well (xD!), but this engine light is on.I read the code and it is p0456, which is associated with emissions. So something between the gas tank and the engine is leaking.Could it be the fuel? Should I just wait and see next time I load up on ethanol % (boooo!) fuel? Should I just change the gas cap and see? Thanks for the help.
- 99% of the time, that code is caused by the gas cap either not being tight, or the rubber seal on the gas cap leaking. Make sure the gas cap is tight; take it off, check the rubber seal ring, and put the cap back on, making sure it clicks when you tighten it. If your engine light doesn't reset, go to an auto parts store and get a new gas cap, they're cheap. For what it's worth, the fuel wouldn't have anything to do with that code, but 0% ethanol fuel will give you a slight boost in fuel economy, and is better for your car because ethanol can dry out rubber hoses and seals, and ethanol can bond with water while it sits in the gas station storage tanks, leading to increased corrosion in your car's fuel system.
