- Q: i have a 98 ford escort SE. oil spils out the dipstick. we think its the pressure release valve. sadly we dont know where that is. any imput would be great
- do you change your oil regularly? you could have gunk restricting the oil galleys in your motor and as the oil pump does its thing with no other outlet cause the oil to flow out your dip stick... when you consider how important oil is to the motor there should not be a release valve.... that is a set up for failure... although i wouldnt put it past ford to do something like that... my opinion of course... i would take it to a shop that can flush your oil system... might be hard to find but theyre out there... good luck

- If it is the drain valve and not the pressure relief valve, you should be fine. The drain valve is not usually open, just when the sediment is drained out of the heater or when it is drained.

- Q: how hard is it to clean the egr valve on my 2002 Chevy Malibu? if you can give step by step or possibly a website/YouTube video link. thanks
- Cleaning it could make it worse then your experiencing now, but if you want to here's the steps. There are two bolts holding the EGR val;ve down. Remove them, and use a can of carb cleaner to clean the carbon out of the two ports that are in the valve. Reinstall with a new gasket and run the car. If the check engine light comes on replace it. I recently got a EGR valve (not recommended but they work) from a local wrecking yard for my folks '99 Venture 3.4 ltr motor, replaced the one on the van because it was throwing the EGR code and it worked fine. No more check engine light.
