Q: From searching around I feel that I need to replace this on my vehicle. Is the Suction Control Valve different from the Idle Control Valve? Sometimes at a stop light the engine will stall. A couple times it has happened while driving when coasting to a turn or stop.
I would think the suction control valve is what is also called a purge valve and is part of the emissions control circuit. It is not the same as an idle control valve nor will it cause poor running when it fails. The idle control valve will however..
Q: Hi. I looked at instructional videos for installing shutoff valves and instead of simply unscrewing old valve, the plumber simply cut the copper pipe. Is this necessary? Why can't I simply unscrew old shutoff valves from copper pipe?
Most are soldered on and need to be cut off.
Q: A diabetic patient undergone CABG having aortic valve problem.Cardiologist suggested valve replacement
Today, there are two types of prosthetic valves used for replacement: mechanical or tissue. Mechanical Valves A mechanical valve is carefully designed to mimic the native heart valve. It has a ring, like your own natural heart valve, to support the leaflets. Like your own heart valve, the mechanical valve opens and closes with each heartbeat, permitting proper blood flow through the heart. To prevent any blood clots from developing on the valve, which can cause complications, a mechanical valve replacement requires you to take anticoagulation medicine (blood thinners) daily. The dosage of this medication is different for each person, so you will be closely monitored to make sure you are on the correct dosage for you. Regular blood tests will be performed at the physician's office, an anticoagulation clinic, or at home with a specialized testing kit. Tissue Valves The tissue valve is a native valve taken from an animal. Once the tissue is explanted (removed), it is chemically treated and prepared for human use. Some tissue valves have a frame, or stent, that supports the valve, and some valves are stentless (no framework). A very thin polyester mesh cuff is sewn around the outside of the valve for easier implantation. Eliminating the stent makes it possible for the surgeon to implant a larger valve. Larger valves generally provide more surface area for blood flow; this allows more blood to flow through the valve to accommodate the body's needs. Homografts or Allografts A homograft or allograft is a human valve obtained from a donor. This type of valve is particularly beneficial for pregnant women and children, because it does not require long-term anticoagulation therapy. In addition, it can provide excellent hemodynamic performance, allowing for natural function of the surrounding structures. Because the availability of these valves depends on donors, supply is limited. Take care always

Q: I opened the OPD valve on the BBQ propane tank and propane spray out, I have heard that propane should come out only when it is hooked. Is there something wrong with the propane tank?
== it is correct that when the valve is opened without being attached to the BBQ machine it will spew propane gas into the air .... the tank is fine and you noticed the foul odor to the gas and that is put into the gas so you can detect that there might b
Q: I have a 97 Neon. The Canister Purge Valve circuit gives a code 31 stating that it has a problem. I've replaced the valve, which didn't make the code go away. I removed the battery for a few hours, and the code went away. I drove for about 2 weeks and the code came back on. If it's not the valve, where do I look next?
Could you describe this canister purge valve? Not sure what you are talking about here. Is it part of the emissions, part of the radiator, or what. I am just guessing it's part of the emissions. In which case, I need to know if it has a smog pump. Could be the pump, could be a clogged up cat, could be a bad EGR valve. Need some more info to help beyond this point. Good luck.
Q: I replaced the valve cover seal and I wanted to know the torque specs for the valve cover bolts and the sequence it should go
Valve covers require minimal torque and usually, it's best to err on the side of less torque, rather than more on valve covers. Best to consult a service manual for your car (year, make, model and engine size) to find the exact torque requirement. You could also google the torque value for your car per the above specs to find the correct value. In any case, I wouldn't go over about 8-10 ft pounds without verifying the actual value required. Hint: Use a 1/4 drive ratchet and LIGHTLY snug them up until you can find the correct torque value.
Q: Hi all, I found oil leakage in my distributor and am about to change the o rings. however, i feel that a blocked PCV valve is causing the pressure to push oil into the distributor. I have been searching for the PCV valve. Can someone please tell me where it is?
The PCV valve is located beneath the intake manifold on the right (passenger) side. It threads into the breather seperator and points toward the center of the car. To remove it, you'll have to remove the Idle Air Control valve located on the end of the manifold log. Be aware that you'll have to do at least part of this task underneath the car, and that the IAC valve has antifreeze circulating through it Get a mechanic to do it if you can afford it
Q: i recently adjusted my valves on my 01 civic with a 1.7 sohc vtec motor and i did it to the specs under the hood and i didnt have them too tight or too loose on the feeler gauge and they are pretty loud are these motors just that noisy? has anyone else adjusted them to something different that works better?
The dude above is physically powerful, yet incorrect on the fee. you may get an entire swifter equipment for about 1k, a reliable setup will fee a million.5k to 2k with injectors, gasoline pump, a turbine, and an intercooler. 01 are heavy and not super to do mods to, additionally d16 sucks inventory, so which you're able to additionally could desire to yet internals with expenses 900 for the aspects (pistons and rods). entire could be 2k to 3k for an extremely super setup for 250 to 300hp
Q: Also, Is a pneumatic control valve an ATC or an ATO; is it a FO or FC valve?
THere are a large number of types of valves; ball, gate, globe, needle, etfc. I suggest you look up valves on wikipedia. ATO = air to open; the valve has a pneumatic operator with a spring returning it to closed when the air pressure is removed ATC is the reverse FO = fail open; if the actuator fails the valve will be open. Actuators are made ATO, ATC, and air to move either way [no spring]. The latter would be your FLP. Control valves, by which I mean a proportioning valve or valve with a variable open area, with a 3-15 psi control input, are usually ATO.
