If the water level of the inlet and outlet is on the same level, but higher than the height of the pump, does the pump lift need to be coupled with this height difference?: Pump head refers to the inlet and outlet pressure head, that is to say, the entrance resistance greatly affects the pump lift, of course, this inlet resistance has a degree, too large water pump does not bring water or cause water pump cavitation. Q: Could someone tell me the procedure for removing & installing a water pump on 97 buick skylark 3.1L 3100 SFI?: Water Pump Removal Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Remove air cleaner (if necessary). Loosen water pump pulley bolts. Remove serpentine drive belt. Remove water pump pulley bolts and pulley. Note position of locate tab on top of water pump for installation reference. Remove bolts, water pump and gasket. Installation Apply thread sealant to water pump bolts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed cooling system (fill reservoir and radiator, run engine until upper rad hose starts to become hot. Top off and replace cap) Torque Specs Water pump bolt................89 Inch Pounds Water pump pulley bolt .....18 Foot Pounds

Got part of the engine off.Dont exactly have the right tools to make the job go fast but would like some tips on how to make it go faster..: If you've got the fan off you have the hardest part done on that vehicle,follow the manuals and line the parts up as you remove them.Be sure to put the bolts with the part they belong to and install them in the reverse order you took them off.

It is a 1995 RM250. there is no clogging in the pipes coming from the radiators with 2 fingers require force to move them but with the 1 finger it requires no force to move a couple Centimeters.: The water pump is turned by the primary gear on the crankshaft. When you were turning the water pump - the crankshaft was moving the piston up down in the cylinder. The couple of centimeters of movement is just the play between the gears - that's normal.

Q: The water hose hooks from the radiator to the water pump. Does an o-ring go in it? What else could be causing it to leak?: no 0-ring in it ! you either need a new clamp or hose. the cord is probably broke in yours.

Q: How do I check my well water pumping system to see if there is a leak? I have terrible rusty water.: The radiator surely holds the water/coolant and the pump circulates the mixture via the engine. Upon returning to the radiator, the water is cooled from air passing via the fins of the radiator. The pumps job is to flow the mixture to verify that the nice and comfortable water to relax subsequently, the engine is then cooled.

Q: i am trying to set up a small aqaurium (about 25 gallons) and i am looking for a water pump that will flow water through the aquarium for a period of time and then shut off, and do that like every hour or so. is there such a thing? a water pump with a built in timer so its not running constanly but only every so often? it doesnt need to move alot of water, but i only want it to pump maybe once every hour. thanks for the help: Not sure why you'd want to do this - if you're keeping fish, it would be better to have it run all the time. Anyway, I don't know of any filters or pumps with a built-in timer, but you could get a 24 hour timer and set it to run or shut off when you want just by moving the switches for each hour on or off. With the price of household timers, it would probably be cheaper than to buy a pump with a built in timer.
