Q: I am going to replace the timing belt , tesioner and idler bearing on my 2000 daewoo leganza. I noticed some of the kits have water pumps too. It is likely to break like the timing belt?: I would suggest to replace the car itself.

Q: my sump pump keeps filling with sewer water. i cant figure out why or where it could be coming from. and the smell is awful.: A sump pump is designed for use in the basements of homes whose water tables make them prone to flooding. Many basements are actually below the water table. This means that should the integrity of the walls or floor of the basement be breached, the basement could flood. This would result in thousands of dollars of water damage to anything in the basement, as well as the loss of anything irreplaceable that's stored there. Even should no breach occur, a great deal of moisture and condensation forms over of time within such spaces. Typically the water drains into a hole in the basement floor called a sump pit. When the water level in the hole rises to a certain level, the sump pump engages and removes the water. A pedestal sump pump, for example, has a long rod that extends down into the sump pit. At the top of the rod sits an electrical motor. Beside the rod is an inflated plastic bubble such as the kind one finds in flush toilets, attached to a pressure switch. When the water level rises beyond the bubble, the bubble is buoyed upward and activates the pressure switch. The switch turns on the electric motor, which sucks the water out of the sump pit and passes it through a connecting PVC pipe. This pipe may lead outward into the soil away from the house's foundation, or it may be connected to the wastewater system that connects to the house's drains and toilets. In either case, the water is pumped out automatically.

Q: Under what circumstances should we set up fire pool and fire pump room? Is it necessary to have a building?: These facilities are available only in large public buildings.

Q: I would like to have a water pump/valve that I can tie into my house water and will run on a timer. Kind of like a sprinkler system but not so expensive an on a much smaller scale. Basically what I am trying to do is set up an auto-watering (from the tap) system for my animals when I am away for a day or two. I know this is more in the lines of a pet category but than again - not really.: You can find the timers at any walmart or big lots, they have outdoor timers (they normally use them for christmas lighting) for around $6, just make sure that they can withstand the amperage of your pump since you are not mentioning the size of it.

Q: We have fresh running water..no well... We just want to install it on our playground for the kids to experience a manual water pump. Can it be attached to running water? Do I need a tank? Help! Thank YOU!: Go okorder before you do anything serious or the local health department. This could be opening up a whole new avenue of new lawsuits and illnesses to you and those around you, check first. My daughter drank some water out of a free flowing well, well she was plowing a field recently, she contracted a parasite that almost killed here, one that only comes from birds that drops it's feces while drinking at a water supply. Some states require drinking water to have a cement barrier 18 inches thick and three feet wide around it. Sorry.

Q: My Ram is leaking collant bad but it doesnt seem to be coming from the water pump it seems like it is coming from directly below the water pump. Q: I'm looking to buy a used 2001 Protege. The car is nearing 75000mi, but the owner has not changed the timing belt or the water pump. I found out that it is recommended to change the timing belt at 60000mi, but couldn't find anything on the water pump. Realistically, when would I need to replace these, and any idea how much it would cost?Thanks!: That could have either the 1.6 liter or 2.0 liter engine. My information shows that if you have the 1.6 liter, at least you don't have to worry about bending valves against pistons if the belt breaks -- you'll just be stuck out on the road until you can get it towed and fixed. Not so with the 2.0 which is an interference engine. So if you DO have the 2.0, pay attention -- you don't want an expensive breakdown! You're on borrowed time at 75K. For both engines, Mazda recommends that you replace the timing belt every 60K miles. Gates (a major replacement supplier) seems to think these belts will go 105K. Since it's a factory belt, stick with 60K. As for the water pump, it's often one of those while you're already in there sort of things when you're doing a timing belt. 60K makes it a tougher call, especially with the better quality of water pump bearings and seals. If your interval were 80K ~ 100K as is true on some cars, I'd say go for it without blinking. As cheap as it'll be (it's really just the price of the pump), and it was my set of wheels, I'd do it anyway, even at 60K, if it needed to be pulled to do the belt.

Q: Im looking at putting a cabin on my property. I have a 200 gallon underground fresh water tank and i'm needing a pump to get the water into the cabin. i want to run a toilet, sink and possibly a shower. does anyone know the style of pump i would need that would only operate when i need it to that way it does not burn up.: I had a jet pump to run my whole house on my farm. It was placed in the basement, but it could be in a back room, too and they are pretty quiet these days. Does it freeze inside the cabin? I assume not. having it inside means if you have trouble even in freezing weather you can work on it in comfort. The end of the pie into your water tank will need a foot valve to keep the pipe filled so you don't have to prime the pump ( not a handy thing to have to do all the time). Other than that, the system is operated with electricity and a pressure switch which is settable. It will not run all the time this way. Not sure anymore but, for example the switch might be set to come on at 50PSI and shut off at 125PSI. You can tell by the switch or get a recommendation from the store where you buy it. (see pictures in link) Menard's sells these and department workers are trained to answer all your questions about installation, parts, and what you need,etc.

Q: Can a car turn off due to a water pump. I am thinking of buying a car that the water pump needs to be replaced, everything else in the car its fine, it turns on lovely but after a little while it turns off, the owner says its because of the water pump. is this possible?: yes it can IF the car is running hot. id wanna see this happen. when you go to look at the car start it up an let it run til it starts to go past normal,once it goes up past normal you can be sure its the water pump not working,which when newer cars overheat they shut off.jus dont run it hot. id also wanna know that the car runs great. no telling how many times he's let it run hot an shut off like that
