Q: What's harder a chest press or bench press?I don't know why but I can bench way more than I can lift on a chest press machine. the chest press sitting up pushing forward on a machine drops me like 40 lbs. Is that mental or is a chest press from a sitting position more difficult than a bench press, thanks
The chest press machine at my gym involves the user pushing away from his/her chest BUT, also pushing upwards slightly. This is most likely the case with yours as well. This is then considered to be an incline press. Since incline presses isolates your upper chest to do the work, you will always lift more with the bench press because there's a smaller fraction of your chest being used to push weight with the incline press. Note: the more of an incline you put to this press (Adjust the incline by doing the press on an adjustable bench) the more a shoulder workout it becomes. You will eventually reach a completely vertical press and this is ALL shoulder (military press).
Q: i dont usually wear foundation, but i do sometimes wear powder to soak up oils on my skin. my skin does get very oily on my t-zone but otherwise my skin isnt too oily. which would stay longer for everyday coverage? i just use them to keep the shinyness away... so pressed or loose?! i just wear them over concealer mostly. thx!Z

Adding weight to any lift is a matter of building up your reps to a certain point then adding weight. For example, if your max is 150, drop down to something like 135 so you can do sets of 3 reps. Build that to 5 reps. When you can comfortably do 5 reps of 135 pounds, add 5-10 pounds and drop down to 3 sets of 3 reps. Build up to 5 reps again and repeat the process.

Q: I am really into photography and want to go to some concerts and take pictures. I have a dslr and everything. I am going to a one direction concert in the summer and really would like to bring my camera. I was planning to get some experience with photographing concerts then get a job taking pictures for a local radio station of something so I could get a press pass. I am 15 would they allow me to have one? Thanks!
At age 15, no. They do know that you're too young to be employed by a newspaper or magazine. Press passes are given to those who are doing paid gigs with articles for publication. Local radio is not going to use much for visuals, tv or newspapers or even locally published magazines would but radio, by definition, is sound based. Their own staff take the images they need for their station's website. I'd say try asking about internships (they're generally unpaid volunteer work) but you're too young to employ even with a work permit. You have to be 16 in most states to have one of those.
Q: i am a freelance photographer who sells my images online. i am trying to get a press card so i can access more places and take better photos but all applications ask for company details which i dont have because i am a freelancer. does anyone know of another way i can get a press card because without a press card it makes it harder to get a press pass. any suggestion would be great thanks.

Q: what is the minimum amount of weight that a 6 foot tall, 160 pound 14 year old boy should be able to bench press?
What do you mean by minimum? The minimum to avoid being made fun of? The minimum to be considered strong? I would say a beginning goal of a healthy young man would be to do their body weight, so 160 pounds. When I first started bench pressing at around 15 years old, I think I weighed about 150 and ended up doing around 180-185 at the end of the school year. I was naturally strong though, so that may have been above average. Keep working hard and challenging your muscles, and you'll be worrying about maximums instead of minimums!
Q: Please, no suggestions about perms because I absolutely refuse to get another perm...Only interesed in pressed hair solutions...I have been natural for slightly over 2 years. I have been going to a salon to get my hair pressed, but I am wondering if every two weeks (twice a month) is too often. She does the new school pressing where she blow dries it straight and then straightens the hair with a ceramic flat iron--she does not actually use the hot comb. I am very satisfied with how it looks and feels, but I'd like to know if once every two weeks is too often for hair to be pressed/ flat-ironed.
I think every two weeks is fine! I used to do that then switched to once or twice a week which was a bad idea. Unless you feel your hair is thinning/breaking/feeling dry then maybe you should try to do it less. Most of all, moisture your hair with a deep conditioner once a week.
