- Q: i want to make scrambled tofu for breakfast one day, but i need to press the water out of it first. is it okay to press it overnight and then cook it the next day?thanks!
- No, okorder /
- Q: I am writing a paper on the printing press and it requires me to label the parts of the printing press and describe what they do. A labeled picture would be very helpful.
- This okorder /... I'm sorry that I could not find you a nice picture with labeled parts, but I think these articles describe the parts well enough so that you can match the names of the parts to the pictures. Good luck, sounds like an interesting project.
- Q: I see people (even some muscular people) in the gym bench pressing just the bar with no weights on the sides. Isn't that just 10 pounds? What is that good for and why do it?
- No, the bench-press bar is typically 45 lbs, not 10. Many times people bench press this amount because they do not have the upper body strength to benchpress more, or alternatively if they do they are using low weight and high repetitious to gain muscle tone instead of bulking their muscles up by using heavy weights.
- Q: i want the information about the fat reducing press.
- This is a really obscure question, and I'm not at all certain that I've found the correct answer to it. The meaning of the patriotic fat reducing press of 1790 was ... I think ... the process during the French Revolution in which the monarchy was overthrown and the King (plus his family and chief advisers) was imprisoned. The King was referred to as a fat hog, because he grew fat off the labors of his subjects. His imprisonment was the patriotic fat reducing press, because it prevented him from growing 'fat' in that way any longer. My explanation for this answer lies in the following excerpt from an article by Katharine Macdonogh in History Today magazine, Vol. 46, August 1996. The widespread use of animal metaphor during the French Revolution provides insight into the mentality of a predominantly rural population living in a pre-industrial age. Hebert and his sort released metaphorically the wild beasts from the famous Versailles menagerie and caged the monarchs in their place. Marie Antoinette is ever the 'archtigress', or the 'Austrian she-wolf', and her children are 'the little wolves'; Louis XVI is most frequently likened to a pig -- Clery recorded seeing graffiti on the wall of the Temple promising 'we shall find a way of reducing the great hog's fat'.
- Q: Im Looking for a high end pressed powder ( so no drugstore pressed powders) and i have combination to oily skin... any suggestions??!!
- I have EXTREMELY oily skin. Most powders don't work for me high end or drugstore. MAC has to be among the worst. Does nothing for oil control if you are truly oily and it oxidizes, clogs my pores and breaks me out. The only powders that I've found to work are: -Jurlique Rose Silk finishing powder -Jurlique Citrus Silk finishing powder -CoverFX Matte FX oil absorbing powder -Youngblood Minerals Organic Rice powder (loose or pressed) -Origins Silk Screen powder -Tarte Micronized Clay finishing powder with pm20 These all keep me matte over 6 hours on a very hot/humid day. Most powders that I tried before these only lasted half an hour or an hour at most so this is amazing. They're also never broken me out or irritated me. They look/feel natural, never cakey or setting into pores/lines. When I use Boscia oil free Daily Hydration SPF15 or Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean oil control lotion followed by PLAIN milk of magnesia + Skindinavia No More Shine before foundation and powder or before just powder, I remain matte all day no matter how hot/humid, not even one touch up necessary.
- Q: Hi,Last year I got a garlic press from William Sonoma. I hate it! It is so hard to clean and just smushes the garlic. I want to know, what is a really good garlic press that will give me nice pieces of garlic and will clean very easily?Do you have a website? Do you have a link?Alot of the ones they have out now don't clean up well, ie you can never get the garlic out of the press. They also have really small holes so they just smush the garlic. So if you know of one, please let me know.Thank you for your help :)
- the best garlic press in my opinion is a chef's knife. Lay it flat and give it a good whap with the heel of your hand, and the garlic is bruised so all the flavor is exposed. A quick rough chop and you're done. Only thing that will work better, again in my opinion, is a microplane grater or as I like to call it, a finger shortener.
- Q: I am having the hardest time getting my cookies right when using my press. I've got a really tasty recipe that works well in the press if I click the lever TWICE rather than just once. Clicking it twice creates a cookie that is way too big and not as crispy as I would like. Does anyone have tips for me to get my cookie to stick to the pan with just one click on the press? It was driving me crazy today! Thanks for any advice, I've been baking for a while but I'm brand new with the cookie press.
- i also have one and i love spritz cookies... i found that if the dough is cold it works better ! Good luck
- Q: Hi, I just wanted to ask a question about basic press-ups.For the last few weeks i've been doing 100 press ups a night, in two sets of 50 (with a good few minutes break in between), anyway i noticed a huge difference at first, but for a while it's not actually improving anything. Anyway i was wondering if it would be effective to switch this exericse to alternative days, and on the other days to do 50 normal press ups, 10 narrow ones (with hands together touching) and 10 wide ones (with arms considerably far apart) or other amounts depending on how difficult it will prove; so my question is would this prove effecitve and is it worthwhile? Otherwise i'll just continue with 100 press ups. Many thanks
- the best thing you could do to get results with press ups at this stage (seeing as you can do more than 50 pushups) is to condense your workouts one set once or twice a week doing as many pushups as you can till failure. that's it. each time you do pushups try and do more than you did previously and that will help you get results. another good way to go about getting results with press ups is to switch to a more difficult variation whcih will decrease the number of reps you can do. you can also try wearing a backpack with weights put inside to weigh you down as you do the press ups.
- Q: Try to learn to play the guitar and thought I was doing ok but my fingers were not hurting and and no matter how I try it the tips of my fingers are always touching more then one string. The book says I'm not pressing hard enough on the frets . so i press hard but now the string I press sounds mute an my tips are stopping the strings below the ones I'm touching from playing ( mostly the 1st and 2nd finger but some times the third like with a B7 and a c7) so one finger is press two strings.. what do I do?
- maybe watch some youtube videos and see how they do it and compare to yourself?
- Q: i am 13 years old , 102 pounds, does squatting excercise the upper body?is squatting better than leg pressing?if squatting works the upper body should i do it because i work the upper body on other days?will squatting or leg pressing make me stronger in my legsi have never squattedi leg press 150 pounds 12 repsplease don't tell me i'm to young to weight lifti want to know which excercise makes my legs strongerdoes leg pressing work the hamstrings as a major muscle and what muscles do both of the excersises work?
- im pretty sure squating is all with your legs.. imagine a dog in the backyard :) wait... scratch that. that's just gross. squating and leg pressing work different muscles in your legs.. neither one is better than the other.. it just helps a different area. squats are DEFINITELY going to help your quads and glutes and leg presses work basically the quads, glutes, and your hamstring. 13 years old is not too young. You're just ahead of the power curve! Good luck reaching success! : )
