Q: How many Panels would I need to make sure that I cover my 1600 kwH? I actually want to try and generate about 3000 so I can sell back to the grid.: 1600 kwH would be about 50 kwh per day (1600/32) so if the sun shined very nicely you would need about 150 kw capacity for an 8 hours of sun day or 200 kw for a 6 hour day. (24 hours in day / 6 of sun * 50 kwh per day) Your supply source or the weather bureau should be able to supply the number of sun hours at various times of the year and the capacity of various panels.

Q: I bought an old moving truck that I only want for storage. It will be parked on my off grid property. I would like to rig it to run a generator that could charge up a large bank of batteries for when my solar isn't collecting enough power. I know it can be done but I'm curious first, how to do it, and second, if it's worth doing? Thank you very much for your input.: For emergency and the occasional deep cell charge up, yeah why not. You could either use the alternator that came with it, and maybe add a few more, or head down to Harbor freight and buy a 10kv generator ($350)and hook it up to the back side of that 7.2 using a few parts from behind the Grainger parts counter. However, if this is a 7.3 Ford(International) motor we're talking about. You're better off selling it for parts and buying a brand new Honda or Onan generator. Those international motors are a headache.

Q: If it is not run continuosly in what intervals should it be stopped and what is the standstill time?: It is not good to run a Diesel generator throughout the year without stopping. It requires regular stopping for maintenance, at least once a week for cleaning or replacement of oil filters and replacement of parts.THE SHUTDOWN MAY LAST 8 OR !6 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE PARTS TO BE REPLACED.

Q: Hello im going to be a mechanic and i will have a 1998 turbo diesel H1 Hummer. Now I wanted to know since the hummer is not like a bus or a really heavy Diesel equipment that i can work on it myself like a regular car or do i have to have to be a diesel mechanic to even work on it?: Diesel engines are very similar to gasoline engines. If you have the technical knowledge to work on gasoline engines then the same principles applies to diesel engines as well. I know this is true because I took the course for auto/diesel automotive technician certification. I rebuilt them both along with carburetors, transmissions, starters, alternators, and generators. The only difference I can recall are that the diesel engines required more or less air than the gasoline engines. Of course diesel fuels burns much slower than gasoline. Therefore diesel engines might have additional mechanisms to produce or reduce the quantity of air. That is all.

Q: fuel oil (called also heavy oil) operated engine.can be a dual fuel engine e.g. diesel / fuel oilor engine only or a generator set.generator 150~250 Kvaor engine only 200~300 HPused in working condition: Fuel oil is diesel. You can try a google on used machinery suppliers, they should give you some idea. Depending on where you are you will find someone who can help. Failing that if you already have a gen set, adapt a scania or volvo engine to drive it. Both these engines come in the horsepower range you are asking for and will give many years faithful service providing you look after them. All you need is to securely mount the chosen engine on a 3 channel frame, preferably on manufacturers engine mounts, with a adaptor plate (easily produced by anyone with half an idea) to drive the gen motor. Make sure you have warning lights (pref buzzer) in place for oil press, temp etc and you're in business.
