- Q: I am contemplating on getting a full house generator and need some feedback from you all.l. What is the best brand for quality and durability of a generator and what hp would I needThe house is about 2,000/sq ft, central A/C heat, all electric at the moment with the usual appliances.2. I want to connect permanently to breaker box for automatic turn on and will need fuel for it.3. - Most of the permanent generators we install down here in Tx are natural gas powered that are connected to the utility. As far as name brand try the Kohler and Generac websites. These sites will also give you the gas consumption rates for the different units. They have alot of good info on sizing. Being as you have all electric it will need to be a decent sized unit to back up the whole home. You could always choose to backup only certain circuits and appliances to bring the demand load down and in turn bring down the size of the gen as well. I've installed 17KW to 100KW(Big Custom Home) units on homes. An automatic transfer switch comes with most stand alone generators. These will sense the utility power drop below a certain voltage and tell the generator to start and will automatically switch to generator power. When the utility power comes back on it will automatically switch back over and stop the generator. Most generators will also test themselves weekly. You can set the time and day for this test.One thing I would recommend is the importance of maintenance. Most generators need to be serviced 2 times a year. I've seen homeowners who did not have a good service plan in place be stuck in the dark when the generator did not work or did not work for long.

- two stroke diesels are still in use today most of them are in the marine field powering large boats and alot are still in generators and you still see quite a few in buses. I've also seen one on a drag strip. as for the in line six vs. the v6 the jeep is well known for an excellent trail vehicle of witch torque is desired at lower rpm and the the inline engine does just that it provides ample toque for the jeeps stock size for most trails.

This is a reversible chemical process, exactly how a battery works. The energy does not come from hydrogen, typically it comes from the electricity used to separate hydrogen. The hydrogen stores the electricity, just like a battery does. * But the hydrogen cycle I have described is much less efficient than other battery technologies. So battery powered EVs are the most energy efficient.

- Q: i have an amida lt5000 light tower/generator. its 22 hp, 120/240, 8.5 kw., 2 cylinder diesel motor, its pull behind type, its got 6 lights on the tower and stands up to like 40 feet. its got surface rust in some spots, its not the best looking but how much could i get 4 it? i cant find prices on OKorder or anything
- It would depend on who needs it. Check with any Rental places in your area that may have one. They may also be interested in buying it.
- Q: I intend to buy Diesel Generator sets in USA but the problem is that the Generator sets available in USA are 50/60Hz /1800rpm, pf 1.0 , 277/480V whereas in my country the Frequency is 50Hz , Voltage is 220/380V and power factor is 0.8. What shall I do to convert the US spec's to what is my requirement.
- You will probably have to buy a voltage converter or a transformer. Either that or contact the generator manufacturer and find out if they make one that matches your voltage, frequency, and power factor needs.

- Doesn't. Rotor (w/ magnets) spins in a stator (coil). When power transfer switch detects a loss of line power, isolates line feed (to prevent linemen from getting zapped), lines up load feed (to house or wherever) and trips starter circuit to gen-set. Or, you go out to shed,shut off your main, plug in your auxiliary cord, and pull-start the SOB.
- Q: i have a plan to supply electric power supply to a colony of around 250 houses each have a load of approximately : 3 x1.5 ton air conditioners and all the other stuff of household use. voltage required is 400v 3 phase or 240 volt single phase. my question is if some one can please calculate the requirement of load for the above requirement and what size of generator is required for this load. thanks
