- Q: Hi, my computer power supply does not have a PCI-E 6 pin power cable for my graphics card, so therefore I found a 2 (4 pin molex) to 1 PCI-E power cable Y adapter.
- Motherboard doesn't provide that connector for the video card. the power supply does. Take the side panel off and see if it has one. Can always use a 4/6pin adaptor. Most retail cards come with one. Just make sure you have enough watts and +12V amps on the PSU to run the new card. A lot of video card upgrades require an upgrade for the power supply as well.
- Q: I am building my first computer and i was going to order a 750GB HDD to back up a 60GB SSD but it is a bare drive. Are there any cables/cords/connectors that i need to buy or should they all come with the motherboard?
- as long as the hard drive is compatible and you have the data and power cable for the two you should be fine
- Q: Can anyone help? my pc wont turn on without them hooked up.
- If you look very close the position for these connectors is written on the motherboard along side of the pins that they connect to in very small letters.
- Q: My laptop works gr8, but the power cable when plugged into the machine is quite loose and just falls out sometimes which is very annoying. Has anyone with this laptop had the same problem and fixed it? if so how? an what do you think i can do to fix it?
- contact dell maybe theyll help u
- Q: Hey! I bought a new sound system for my truck including 4 new speakers, a sub, a 5-channel amp, and I'm running all new wiring. So far I've got the 3 RCA cables ran, along with the blue remote turn-on wire along the right side of my truck. I plan to run the Power wire down the left side and then to my amp.I've heard that you put the power wire and RCA cables on different sides, which is what I've done, but is it ok for my speaker wires to be run beside or close to the power wire(4-gauge fyi)? For example, the right side speaker wires wont be near it, but the left side speaker wires will be...Will this cause any weird noise from my speakers?I don't have the names/etc of all my gear right in front of me, but if u rly need it, I will quot;add detailsfor you! Thanks!!
- Separating the power the speaker wires is not as important in a car that uses DC voltage as it is in a home system that has AC voltage. It certainly doesn't hurt anything, tho.... If you do run them across each other, keep the intersection as close to a good right angle as possible. And, air is a very good insulator, so keeping some distance between the power the speaker wires is also very good.
- Q: This is a clock/phone I was using as a kid. Found it in my basement, and I would like to use it now. I no longer have the original power cable, that's the one needed for the left side. They both look similar, but are not the same. The right side is for the telephone cable. I have no idea what the left's called or where to buy it? I'd appreciate some help if anyone knows what its called, Thanks.
- Give them a try. This isn't a common power cord that can be purchased locally. However you may find a used one on OKorder. You can do an OKorder search using the model number of the unit.
- Q: its like a big power box the has two metal prongs, and is about 2quot;X3big and fits into the same size slot, if you push it in it gets power for a second then doesnt if you jiggle it around it gets power for a second and doenst.anyone know please?

- Q: Hi. I have an iBook power cable and I was wondering if there was a way to adapt it so I can use it for my new MacBook Pro that uses a magnetic cable? Thanks!
- No, you really can't. The effort and money that would be spent on it would far exceed the cost of a new cable.
- Q: Hi,I have problem with power cable on Karcher 670m pressure washer. I pulled all of the power cable out and now it's stuck and doesn't roll back inside. What can i do to fix it?Sven
- Throw the piece of crap away. Just kidding, but it wouldn't make sense to take it to a repair shop when you could buy a new one for $100 bucks. Just roll the cord up when your finished using it.
- Q: A power cable of copper is stretched straight between two fixed towers. If the temperature decreases, the cable tends to contract; the amount of contraction for a free copper cable is 0.0017% per degree celsius. Show that the stretched cable will snap if its temperature decreases by 128°C.Ignore the weight of the cable and assume Hooke's law is obeyed until the cable breaks. Young's modulus for copper is 11.0 x 10^10 N/m^2 and the ultimate tensile strength of copper is 2.4 x 10^8 N/m^2.
- Change in length=(coefficient of expansion)(original length)(change T)= (.0017)(chose your favoret length, I chose 100)( -128 because T is decreeing)=-21.76 Strain = (change in length)/(original length)= 21.76/100= .2176Pa (for simplicity's sake I dropped the negative, rember the wire is in tension) Stress = (youngs modulus)(strain)= (11?10^10)(.2176)= 2.3936?10^10 Pa The UTS (2.4?10^8)<(2.39?10^10) so there is definitely necking and because of the difference most likely there was failure long ago.
