- Characteristics of carpets made of several materials: 1. - Q: The new carpet smells great. How do you clean it?
- Gently move the broom back and forth until all the baking soda goes into the carpet fiber. Stay a few hours, possibly the best overnight.
- Q: Is there some kind of carpeting that won't collect dust deep within its root? We're going to have most of our carpeting changed to laminate because I have HORRIBLE dust allergies, but we want to keep the carpeting in the living room and dining room. Is there some kind of hypo-allergenic carpeting?
- I believe Berber carpeting helps with keeping the dust out as well as indoor/outdoor carpeting. Your best bet is to call a carpet store and ask them. May be a little more expensive than the cheap kind. Why don't you get rid of carpet all together and do some area rugs without wool and dust holding carpets. Then you can wash them or take them out side and shake them. Best of luck to you.

- Q: when every i take my cover off my horse it lets of static electric zaps. (you know like if you shuffle along the floor then tap some one and it lets of this zap) but its not small zaps they are very loud, you can hear them crackle from meters away if you move the cover, but they are also EXTREMELY painful!! (It left me with welts all up my arms!) i can hardly hold it because of this (it only dose it when i take it off) and im starting to worry if it may be hurting my horse as well as me, So how can i stop this? Thank You.:'DPS. obviously were in summer and because i live in Australia, the sun is a scorcher. could the sun be a reason why it dose this?
- Wash it with a few dryer sheets. And wipe your horse down with dryer sheets too. It's not like there's something wrong with it, it's normal for that too happen. You just have to figure out how to deal with it.
- Q: I'm thinking a dark purpley magenta... or perhaps a shaggy brown rug might suit. Ideas?
- I personally would go with a burgundy color..like a red wine...Never go with light beige colors, they are very hard to clean unless you clean them right away. Our home has fitted carpets and all of them beige, and one can see every little blemish. I like burgundy. I think it won't clash and it looks elegant...I think a shaggy brown rug will not do the blue justice and yes, if you are young and daring and for bold extremes, then I think a purply magenta could work. That will be a bold color scheme but it can work. Also make sure, that you either redecorate your walls or the rug and the blue cream sofa should somehow be in harmony with the color on the wall ..otherwise if you have too many different colors, (meaning the wall has a yellow paint, and the rug is purply magenta and the the sofa is blue cream, then I find that too much of a contrast..so check the walls and if they are white, I would paint them and maybe give them a nice color that could be a blue...Blue is very relaxing and a restful color and it depends in which room this sofa stands. A cream colored wall would also go with a blue cream sofa and a burgundy carpet...I would not get the cheapest rug. Look for a bargain but get something nice..but not too expensive. Look around in in antique shops for bargains..Maybe they have something suitable that is not too expensive..x
- Q: I want to use baking soda to freshen my rugs before I vacuum. I won't use commercial odor eliminators (the strong scent gives me a headache). Has anyone used baking soda and experienced a change in color or any damage to your carpets?
- Some vacuums will clog up with the baking soda. Dysons in particular. About killed mine. Otherwise, yes it works to some extent.
- Q: which is best for a bearded dragon? sand or cage carpet? thanks
- Either one is fine, but the BD could eat the sand which could cause digestion problems. I would recommend the cage carpet.
- Q: Hi everyone, I have a encolsed porch that i am redoing and the exsiting floor is wood and is painted so i just repainted it well i was thinking about painting a rug onto the floor just to add a little something different and special to the room. I am having a hard time finding any informatiot on it. I am looking for ideas for patterns (a little more torwards a country pattern) and ideas on how to do it what steps i should use and if anyone out there has ever done this you're input on it would be sooooo geatly appreciated!!!
