- Q: It is a Gateway Desktop AMD Athlon 64X2 4200, 2048 DDR2, running Win XP Media center edition with Update Rollup 2. It first started when I put it in quot;stand-bymode and the computer refused to wake up. - this sounds like an electrical problem. not a software problem. you may need to test and/or replace your power supply. or check the outlet that you're plugging it into. it may have gone bad and the computer is just reacting to it. try using another outlet that's maybe not on the same circuit. like in another room. if it still does the same thing then it's probably your power supply that has become damaged.

- it wont increase your reception, if you beef up the power cable, then you need to keep in mind that you also need to beef up the ground cable, to increase your reception you need a bigger whip or another whip this is all that i have found that works, i have 2 6 ft whips mounted on the side rails on the bed of my truck and i get decent reception.

- Look at the mixer itself and see what voltage it says on it, If it states 250V then you cannot use it in the USA as the voltage there is 110V.

- It's not possible to drop voltage as you said. It's either connected, or it's not. The power won't wain. It just won't work at all if not properly inserted. But if the power cord won't seat properly in a brand new console, you're still under warranty. I'd get it replaced if I were you..
