Keeping them out of sight makes a better presentation and is safer for the performers. 2. Keeping the power cables away from the audio cables is just good practice. Low level (mic and line level) signals from mics and instruments are no match for high current power cables. The high current power cables produce magnetic fields that can induce hum into low level audio cables. Balanced cables, ones that use 3 pin XLR connectors are better than unbalanced RCA or phono plug audio cables. In the real world audio cables do have to cross power cables. When this happens try to cross them at 90 degree angles. Try to keep power and audio about a foot apart if possible. Q:I am using a Peavey Windsor half-stack that I've had for a little over a year now. It's 300 watts, 120 VAC (whatever that means), and 60 Hz. I lost the power-cable so I bought a new one, but I wanted to make sure there's no risk in using it. I'm pretty sure it's safe but I'd hate to overpower it if that's possible.: It means that it has 300 watts of power . Thats a lot of power. 120VAC means that you connect it to a regular wall plug. If you can connect it to the amp and the wall socket , you got yourself an amp.

Q:He has made a couple of really small slits in the black plastic on the wire, all in the same place, but on both sides. I can see silver through it, but no other colours. I have unplugged it from the laptop and the mains, as I assume I shouldn't use it. Q:I live in the Arizona desert, on a flood plain. Most of the time things are pretty dry. But during monsoon season the area I live in experiences flooding. I am planning a shallow, square, sunken pond. The main pond will be 4.10' L x 4.11' W x 3' deep. I plan to build an 8wide wall around the pond to keep out flood water. The wall will be made of standard red bricks. I plan to make the wall 2-3 bricks high. This would make the wall itself around 5-7 inches tall. The foundation for the wall will be concrete. Do I need a waterproof concrete sealant for the foundation? I plan on installing a power cable for my submersible filter between the EPDM liner I plan to use, and the mortar for my brick wall. Should I use sand between the mortar and the cable to protect the cable from the mortar? The cable will be encased in PVC as well.Thank you.: You should use a concrete sealant, it can't hurt. Put the cable under the foundation in PVC and it will be fine.

That's why standard sizes appeared ; like NEC IEC. You can search for tables of standard size of cables in the internet. For the above case, I think u'll have to use 3 phase circuit. So Calculate the current in each phase then accordingly get the corresponding cross section area from the standard table. Q:I have a Karcher power washer which was left outside over night. An animal chewed threw the power cable and so is unusable. I was wondering how to re-connect the power cord together, safely. I do not want to cross wires and use electrical tape. I was thinking of using a connector, but unsure of whether to use a two pinned or three pinned connector.: You can install a plug on the cord to replace the one that was chewed off. Choose one with the same number of prongs as the cord has wires (2 or 3). Be sure to attach each wire to the correct terminal! Splicing the cord is also OK, and tape would not be a problem if applied properly, but I prefer to use heat-shrink tubing. When I do a top-grade splice, I first twist the wires tightly together without making a tail, then I solder them.

While Kimber did win an award in Audiophile magazine, the write up for PS Audio's SC statement cable appears to be very good as well. Power cord for what equipment? Most audio and video equipment comes with the power cord attached or uses a standard 3 prong 110v power cable that you see on computers. A power cord should not affect quality. To improve quality, you should have a power conditioner or line conditioner to clean the power going to your equipment. Please elaborate on what you are trying to do.
