- Q: I am trying to find a 4 Pin Fan Power Splitter Cable or my computer since I only have 1 4 Pin Fan Power jack and I want to use 2 4 pin fans. I am having a really hard time trying to find one in hamilton
- Before hooking that up, check the specs on your motherboard to see if that fan header will support loads from both fans. You may need to get a Molex to 4-pin converter and power directly off your power supply.
- Q: It's a mains electrical cable, like a kettle or computer, 3 pin but with a little groove under the 2 pins. Please help.
- If you are in the UK, it is 13amp insulated, power cable with live, neutral and earth wires.
- Q: Hi. I have a Marina Power Filter (Slimline S15) and the power cable that is connected to it appears to need to be submerged in the water. That doesn't seem safe at all but the instructions (although poorly written) seem to point to that being the case,Advice please.
- yes, it's completely submersible and safe for the filter and part of the cord to be in the aquarium.... note: as another poster has pointed out, that's a crappy filter. If you ever get a real aquarium, buy better equipment.
- Q: Hi all, I'm moving into a new apartment August 1, and I'm wondering how far in advance I need to call the power company, cable company, etc to set up service. I know this is probably a dumb question, but throughout college I moved into apartments where at least one of the other roommates was staying (I took over someone's lease who was moving out, but the other girls stayed so I was the only new resident). But I'm moving into a one bedroom, and I've never had to set these things up before so I just thought I'd ask what the standard time frame is. Is a month enough advance notice--should I start setting this stuff up in early July? Or sooner? Again, I know this is probably dumb but I have no experience so I wanted to ask some people who've been there and done that what the procedure is. Thanks in advance!
- 10-14 days should be enough notice for the utility companies... I typically call at least 10 days prior to my move date to schedule the utilities to be turned on.
- Q: Hi. I just purchased a hp slimline S3420F used from OKorder. (dumb move, I know) Anyway it worked for a few days and now it won't turn on. The power supply light on the back is one but the computer won't come on. I was looking in the trouble shooting guide and one thing that is suggested is to reseat the hard disk data and power cables. It says for instructions to refer to a manual that I can't get because it's on my computer. I am on a public computer now and can't upload the manual to this computer. I switched the voltage to 230 and back to 115 real quick and that worked once. Probably just a coincidence. Now it just won't boot at all. LIke I said, the green power supply light on the back of the computer is on. I can read replies from my cell phone so perhaps someone can give me some ides what to do. I'm sure the answer lies in taking it to a repair shop. :(
- Re-seating is nothing more than unplugging a connection, then plugging it back in. Your real problem sound related to the 230/115 switch, if not the power supply itself.
- Q: my cable often gets unplugged soo im really worried that i may loose 280 dollars?
- Yes, power failures can be associated with voltage spikes that can cause damage to the PC and its components. Buy a decent surge protector or extension cord with a built in surge protector, and use this to power your PC.
- Q: Due to the large spans the signal must travel it must be amplified or reconstructed at one point, taking into consideration that everything happens underwater, where does the box that reconstructs the signal get it's power.
- The cable that is laid on the ocean floor is typically called a submarine cable. These cables have been around for decades and were at first solid conductor cables used for telephone communications. Today they are typically a fiber optic cable with a solid conductor in the center. Typical burial rated fiber cable today can go 100km or about 60 miles in between repeaters. The cables are typically connected on either end by landing stations. These landing stations also provide power feed equipment. The repeaters are powered by a constant current sent down the conductor near the center of the cable. Therefore all repeaters in a cable are in series i.e. one wired to the next and to the next and so on. The landing station on one end of the cable will send a positive current and the station on the other end will send a negative current. The repeater derives it's power from the potential difference drop across them. This is basically a two channel power circuit wired in series using the same conductor...sorry to get really techincal=) isn't the internet great...hope this answers your question...below is a link to the patent applied for regarding transoceanic fiber repeaters, a submarine cable map, and my business website.
- Q: Just curious i also want to have my ps3 in good condition so i was wondering how durable is the power and av cables
- they would last for years if you dont pull them or stomp on them... they are that good!
- Q: I am installing a sound system in my car straight from scratch. I have built the subwoofer enclosure but now I have run into a problem. The existing amplifier power cable is too short to reach my amp. I was wondering if any other cable could be used as a substitute to extend it just a few more inches or do I need to buy a whole new amp kit? Thanks
- you okorder /... and a fuse to fit that will work and be cheaper than buying new wires.you can go to walmart and find the fuse holder for cheaper that is just an example of what to look for.
