Q: I drive a 1995 Acura integra ls model I'm mechanically inclined just not enough to do a headgasket (more patience wise) my car loses coolant once in every 3 weeks it starts to over heat. I don't have white smoke coming out of the exhaust or milky oil. Everything else runs smooth on my car. I've head it pressure tested and every thing else checks out so I'm kind of lost. All hoses are fine and not leaking and there is no coolant leaks showing up on the ground. Any ideas?
Have you checked for coolant inside the car ? it could be the heater core or you may have a small leak at a hose that burns off before you can find it.
Q: I drive a 99vw jetta and the coolant was leaking from it i took it to a repair shop they said the water pump was bad and that the seals on the water pump where bad that was defiantly where the coolant was leaking from. I replaced the water pump and drove my car this weekend no troubles, then this afternoon my coolant light came on and i put coolant in my car and it just started trickling out i called the repair shop they said it may just be a loose hose or clamp, is this true or am i looking at something worse than the water pump that has to be replaced?? or would that issue have already came up when they where looking for where the leak was coming from before it was repaired? please help
The pump may have indeed been bad. Did the shop put on the new pump or did you do it yourself? If it was done by the shop, take it back and make them fix it correctly. You have already paid them for the work. If you did it yourself, it should be fairly easy to spot where the leak is coming from. It is also rare but possible that the pump you put on was bad out of the box from the parts store. Not likely...but slim possibility. Hopefully it is just a loose clamp or hose.
Q: I think the water pump is going out in my truck can I still drive it short distance if I put water in it first?
If the temperature gauge is working and the water isnt leaking and its full just drive it no more than 10 minutes at a time or until the temperature gauge reads hot then let it cool off and repeat. DO NOT POUR COLD WATER IN A HOT MOTOR, you will crack the heads!
Q: Pump suction and pressure side road why should vacuum table and pressure gauge, and what role they have?
The pump suction and pressure side roads shall be equipped with a vacuum meter and a pressure gauge to monitor the operation of the system. When the pump is running, if the suction side of the vacuum decreases, indicating that the performance of water pump or water absorption pipe leakage; if the vacuum increases, it may be blocked suction pipe. The pressure on the water side is too large. It may be less water or the water pipe is blocked. If the pressure drops, the water consumption may increase or the water pump performance will decrease. The pressure gauges on the water side also play an important role in observing the pressure changes at the start of the pump to determine when to open the outlet valve. Usually larger pump starts, should first close the outlet valve to reduce the starting current, until the pressure of the pump rising and stable, then open the outlet valve.
Q: Who can tell me such water pump medium flow direction should be what kind of, from left to right, or from right to left, is low into the higher?
In the picture, to the right is the entrance, the left is the exit, the water pump inlet channel section area generally will be bigger than the export.
Q: I Have a 1982 Suzuki DT8 Outboard motor, i rebuilt the water pup, new impeller, wear plate, all that. This is the first time iv run it in a barrel, it wont pump water now. But here is the thing, when i take the inspection cover off(the little round cover that lets you acces the shift linkage), and i run the motor, it will pump water. i noticed that wile i have that cover off all the exhaust comes out that hole and not out the bottom, is the exhaust getting sucked in the pump and stopping it from circulating water?
i agree with richard. get a hose attachment, a set of earmuffs and run it with them. you wont be able to see water exiting the prop shaft area with the motor in a bucket. hte indicator, where the motor normally pisses to show its pumping water, those sometimes get clogged and need cleared out. it is possilbe for the motor to suck air, or exhuast, instead of water, if a gasket is bad around the impeller. in addition to the gaskets normally changed, there are more gaskets underneath that. usually, those gaskets only go bad if the motor is overheated to the point that the old impeller housing shows signs of excessively high temps. if the old housing was half metled, id go ahead and pull it apart and change the other gaskets too. but the exhuast chooses to exit that port becuase its easier to go out there then through the water. and you see water exit with it, so you know it is pumping water up into the motor. i'll also point out this much. if you are unsure, take it to a proffessional. you can total your motor by operating it without a properly working cooling system. paying a pro to fix it right is much cheaper then a new motor.
Q: What is the difference between self-priming and non self suction?
Self suction pump, pumping water conservancy machinery used, composed of a pump body, a rotating assembly, leading assembly, trash cover, and inlet and outlet pipe, a blocking net general assembly; start the motor, dynamic linkage, rotary assembly in promoting the impeller centrifuge, bubble up surging, generates suction. The air inlet pipe, the outlet pipe from the pump body, air exhaust, water outlet pipe outflow, the water pump, excellent performance, deep suction lift, large flow operation, saving time and labor, is the most excellent mechanical pumps in the realistic society.1. self suction pump, as the name implies, pumping tube is under the condition of air, use form a negative pressure pump at work (vacuum), under the influence of the atmospheric pressure will be lower than the water pumping port, then discharged from the pump discharge end. Before this process, there is no need to add "diversion water". The pump with this capability is called a self suction pump".2., some centrifugal or rotary vane pump, before absorbing water, you must add "water diversion" in the pump cavity to form a closed environment, and then pump operation to form negative pressure, to achieve the purpose of water absorption. For example, a manual pump used in rural areas. No self-priming capacity of the pump, each time before adding water to add "water diversion", it is very troublesome.
Q: how can i choose a water pump that is truely on demand as in shuts off when not needed automaticly i purchaced one that claimed it was a quot;demandpump is mine defective or not a true on demand pump?
RV section is probably under cars and transportation, others. On demand pumps are quite common and used in many RV's.
Q: Why does the water pump in the tank pull out the power supply and then plug it in?
What kind of filter pump? If you don't pump water, there may be a blockage in the foreign body. You can either take a look or fail to reach the level of water it needs
Q: i was wondering how hard it would be to chancge a water pump in a 1997 chrysler sebring.
Well, you will have to pull the belt for the car. Most likely will have to pull the alternator, power steering, ac compressor, and many other parts that are in the way. On an scale from one to ten and ten being the hardest, 4. If you have minimal knowledge, mechanic time.
