- If you have pets that often mess on carpets, you may want to not reinstall carpets. Instead, once you can afford it, consider installing a hard surface that's easier to clean, such as tile or etc. When you do clean, use an enzyme cleaner, to eliminate the Oh, this is my piddle place smell that will cause them to reuse that spot. For now, to help the carpets stink less, put baking soda all over the carpet, and let it sit for a half hour or longer. Then vacuum it up. This will not remove the deep-set pet odors that are in the carpet pad, but it will help remove the odor in the carpet itself, which can only help. Baking soda can work wonders with odors. But if the odors are in the carpet pad, as I suspect they are, any product is only going to help so much. I know others say you can get a steam cleaner and clean the carpets, but in my experience, all this does is release the hounds. It activates any old, dormant pet odors in the carpet pad, and makes the situation worse. So I'm not so sure of this one. Maybe a professional carpet cleaning company... but I make no promises on that.
- Q: How to distinguish between PVC and asphalt of carpet backing
- That is asphalt, and there is a bad smell, very black. The bottom of the PVC is gray.
- Q: that moves constantly. I'm forever pulling and tugging on it to keep it flat and straight. The rug is located in my living room with a coffee table on it. What can I do, if anything, to prevent this thing from moving around on mesignedtired of tugging. :-)
- You need an area rug no slip pad. You can pick it up at a home improvement store. Another suggestion would be to staple it to the floor. But only if its not concrete or hardwood or tile.

- Target okorder . $2.95 shipping on any order (and no tax)! I've been really pleased with them. They have thousands of rugs, so I'm sure you can find one similar on there. Not sure if it will be cheaper, though. Price is really determined by fiber content.

- I okorder for area rugs. Lots of choices and shipping is only $2.95. I would pick a carpet you like and not necessarily with red in it if you don't like it. Maybe a darker taupe? Depends on what the flooring is. To unify the red curtains in the room use other decor like framed pictures, pillows, a throw, lamp shades (can spray paint them if they are a smooth surface-not tufted or gathered in some way), a runner across your coffee table, etc.

- Q: My ex landlord is charging me pro-rated costs to replace the entire carpet. While I don't think the carpet needs to be replaced, they said they couldn't get all the carpet installed before the new tenant moved in that they will replace the carpet upon the exit of the new tenant, whenever that may be. Can the legally do that? They've sent me receipts for the carpet cleaning have deducted the pro-rated amount to replace all the carpet. FYI I moved out the end of June, they sent me estimates the end of July now in January they've just sent me the invoices, I asked, for the work they completed, the new tenant moved in-in August.
