Very cheap carpeting, usually no warranties etc.. GL

I have no problem explaining this to his parents, but would like to fix it if possible.: Cut out the burnt section and glue in a piece of scrap carpet! Go to a carpet store and get a carpet repair tool. They're only a few bucks. Some adhesive disks and carpet glue. Now take your cutting tool and cut out the damaged section. Be careful to not cut through the carpet fibers themselves. Next cut a replacement section from the donor carpet also being careful not to cut the carpet fibers. Next you will peel off the cover on the adhesive disk and place it in the empty hole. Now put some glue around the edge of the hole and insert your patch trying to match the grain of the carpet. (Carpet has a distinct grain). Press the patch firmly into place and put a weight on top of the area. Let it dry at least twenty four hours before putting the carpet to use.

HELP: Carpet is pretty cheap....$2-$3 per square foot installed but look for a carpet cleaner who is going is use only Hot Water! You need a restorative process. Make sure the carpet cleaner doesn't use soaps or surfactants - they cause the carpet to rapidly resoil...... Get it clean and get the stains out....if you elect to replace go to Loews or .Home Depot ...they have a carpet that uses a new technology called Puraesque.....it can be done, just make sure you get pros instead of a bunch of nerdowells!

I spilled black stain on a tan carpet once and i kept pouring paint thinner on it then soak it up. DONT SMEAR IT BLOT IT! Then when its about all gone mix the paint thinner in the carpet cleaner and suck it out. If you dont have a carpet cleaner go find a shop vac and put the thinner on and suck it up keep doing it till its gone! Or you can let it dry all the way IF ITS JUST ON TOP then kinda shave it off with scissors its not gonna look new but better than it did or another good way but a dresser or something over it LOL it'll save you till you move out

Q: Urine odor is old and on natural dye rug.: Send it out for a professional cleaning. Normally I'd recommend Nature's Miracle (or a similar enzyme cleaner) as I do for carpet and furniture, but for a natural-dye rug (and valuable, I'm guessing?), don't chance ruining it with a DIY remedy.

Use nail polish remover and have plenty of clean white cloths. An old white sheet, cut up, is ideal. Don't use coloured cloth or you could end up transferring dyes. Put enough remover on the affected are to soften the varnish then rub from the outside edge of the stain towards the middle. (If you rub from the centre outwards you will simply enlarge the stained area.) Repeat this again and again, using a clean piece of cloth each time. Don't use brushes or scrub the area hard - if you damage the pile you can't put it right.
