Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q: i accidentally spilled my nail polish on my carpet last night!! does anyone know of any tricks to take it out???
use nail polish remover
Q: (Or perhaps any rugs?)
I think mexico do lots of wall rugs
Q: I got a little nail polish remover on my shag rug and the bottle says harmful to synthetics-so is shag synthetic?just wondering
A shag rug is sythentic.
Q: Me and my husband have been searching apartments for rent and 90% come with carpets. Being both from Europe, we are not used to the smell of carpet. We just wondered what happened in this country that so many people use carpets.
After WWII, wall-to-wall carpeting was considered a luxury-- something that signified success, etc. Previously, homes were built with wood floors and people put down area rugs for comfort, warmth, and to muffle sound. For several decades after the war, just about everyone who could afford it had wall to wall carpeting--- soft for the feet, comfortable to sit or lie on, etc. I've even seen bathrooms and kitchens carpeted-- how impractical is that? But people wanted their homes to be like soft nests... a cozy refuge from the 'cold cruel world'. Newer homes in the U.S. have gone back to more wood, marble, tile etc. because people like the look and the cleanliness. In older homes many people are ripping up the carpeting to refinish the underlying wood, if it exists, or put in new flooring. As people have become more aware of the effects of molds and dust on our health, many people want to avoid carpets, which trap such things. Things come and go in fashions, including in home decorating. One reason, however, that many apartments still may be carpeted is to dull the sounds for the people who live below. If the apartment was not built with good sound insulation in the floors and walls, carpeting helps to absorb noise, and makes living close to others easier. Newer buildings have much sound insulation, so, while more expensive because they are new, they will have less carpeting. I, personally, have some parts of my home with natural wood and ceramic tile, but the family room where everyone tends to sit/lie around on the floor as well as the furniture when we watch movies etc. is thickly carpeted. We are very casual-- and the kids like to roll around, do somersaults etc. and the carpet is soft. (and relatively clean)
Q: I have carpet in the backyard and my dogs have urinated on it badly an i was wondering if i put very little bleach in a spray bottle and sprayed it on the carpet would it change the color of the carpet?
Yes, it will change the colour. Also, it 's not safe for your dogs. BTW - Why do you have carpet in your backyard? Shouldn't you have grass like normal people?
Q: What is pearly carpet, what is pearly carpet?
Colorful colors, colorful effect, is another milestone in your wedding. This product is divided into three types:A, fine surface pearly carpet (surface pearl powder is smooth and delicate).B, large pearl carpet (surface with large particles of pearl, brighter and brighter colors).C, glossy pearl carpet (on the original basis, made a layer of glue on the surface of the surface, smooth surface, not falling film).
Q: Is there a way to bleach my carpet? Not to get a stain out or anything. But my carpet is a bache color, and I would like to make it white.Would putting bleach on it make it brighter?
Sorry, but the chances are it will either do nothing, or make a splotchy mess. The only way to really change the color of a carpet is to buy a new one. If you are willing to do this, why no try bleaching the existing one first. Mixing a spray bottle of 10 parts water to one part bleach would be a good start. But realistically you need a new carpet, and if you do that I wouldn't suggest white, you will never keep it clean. Hope this helps
Q: cats knocked oil lamp on carpet, contents spilled
I'm going with Norman777 on this one. chances are the carpet is ruined in that spot already. Adding another flammable solvent to it will only make it worse. The padding underneath will absorb it and keep wicking it back to the carpet for days. The carpet WILL delaminate from the backing and ripple up, and leave you with an area in need of a repair. Long story short, get ready to call a carpet guy. If you don't have any excess carpet from that room, you'll want to go get a piece of rem carpet and pad from a carpet outlet that's big enough to do the closet you are going to get the piece to repair that area out of. Total cost of about $125-$225 depending on where you live and how decent the guy that does it is. By decent I mean nice, quality of work is a moot point since it really won't match perfectly for a couple of months at least. Just make sure they replace the pad also. Good Luck.
Q: I am replacing carpet in my living room, hallway and 3 bedrooms. All with one kind of carpet. I am looking for something durable, stiff, non-furry so it's easy to maintain and resist stain. Almost every store we visited is selling different type of fabric. I am getting very confused. So far the fabric I've seen are nylon, smartstrand, BCF Strudon... anyone knows the difference?
Carpets and rugs enhance the beauty of homes or commercial spaces. Most commonly used fibers to make carpets are wool (warm and durable), silk (most exotic), jute, some synthetic fibers like nylon, polyester, olefin, and acrylic, out of which polyester is durable of all. Bamboo carpets and Coir carpets form a different range of eco-friendly carpets.
Q: I know nothing of carpet, but I need to get carpet... I got a great deal on Shaw carpet, 55 oz. Is this good? Thanks!
if you like a heavier carpet that would stand up to high traffic, then yeah. If it uses Stainmaster yarn, then you will have a great carpet. A 1/2 8lb pad really isn't necessary; a 1/2 6lb pad would do just fine. It all depends on your living situation: is there a lot of people living there? If so, a heavier pad would help with the wear and tear of the carpet. If it is just you or you and one other person, the lighter pad would do just fine.
