3) What is the difference of Wilton Carpet and Axminster carpet
Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.
- Q: I spilled Coca-cola on my area rug. The rug is relatively inexpensive and I've never spilled liquid on it. I decided it would be a brilliant idea to sop up as much liquid as I could with a towel and paper towels and then pour baking soda all over it, which I then proceeded to rub in. (I know, idiotic). The stain is now hard and crusty and I cant seem to vacuum it out. Any advice?
- Not all is lost. Break up the crusties as much as possible and vacuum, probably just use the hose, not the various heads. Keep doing this until you'd removed as much as possible. If you have a clothes brush, use that to help as you vacuum. When you've done as much as you can, time to switch methods: first put a towel, shower curtain or whatever under your throw rug as you don't want to ruin the floor under neath.......if vinyl.......relax. Anyway. Make a solution of OxyClean.....I'd say a scoop to a quart of warm water.....mix well and then apply it to the stain.........if your carpet doesn't have latex on the back and you can move it to the tub.....pour the Oxyclean over the stain. Otherwise pour a bit on.......1/4 cup or so, rub with your fingers and immediately begin blotting it out with a clean towel......white or light colored just in case you get a color run from the towel. Repeat applying and blotting it up. That should do it. I doubt you'll need the whole quart. OH yes, finish with a clear water rinse and plenty of blotting. Check the towel or whatever underneath and replace it if wet. Let the rug air dry. No hair dryers as heat will set stains. Of course we hope like anything the OxyClean doesn't remove the color from your rug.....if you have bright colors.....use a weaker solution. OxyClean ihydrogenen peroxide which will bleach colors if in a very concentrated formula which it in the in the original mixture I mentioned.
- Q: My pets have ruined my carpet. I need to rip it up and replace it, but that is way to expensive right now. I am just looking for a product I can buy at a drugstore, spray on the carpet, and vacuume off. Thank you!!
- Sprinkle a couple of boxes of bicarb soda all over the carpets, paying particular attention to heavily stained areas. Leave for as long as you can then vacuum. After that get your carpets professionally cleaned or hire a steamer and do it yourself. Then, before you vacuum do the bicarb soda bit again every time. Voila! Clean smelling carpets!
- Q: How to reuse the used carpet?
- Carpet: wool carpet definitly will lose the wool, good wool fiber is combined togrther, even import New Zealand wool also falls, so don't buy cheap household carpet, as the cheaper cost, the worse quality.
- Q: i dont have enough money to re-carpet my floor. for my room my dad says that it would cost about $500. but we dont have enough spare money for that kind of thing (we're saving for disney.) but i hate my carpet! it has stains all over it that i cant get out. and its a girly periwinkle color. he said that i can re-paint it. but i cant paint it the color i want because the carpet wont work with it. i dont know what to do. my room is SO tiny as it is and i dont like it very much already. my parents have the biggest room (obviously) my older brother has the second biggest, my little brother has the third (i could have had it but it has green walls and red carpet) and my older sisters room is the same size as my little brother's. what is an alternative to recarpeting my room so i dont have to pay as much??? is there ANY ideas, anything that might help is appretiated, thanks!!!
- you can always go out and rent an extraction machine and clean your carpet. also whats underneath your carpet? if its wood flooring and its in good shape take the carpet out and get yourself an area rug or runner.
- Q: i recently had a basement flood which covered the floor in 4 inches of water. After using two pond vacuum's, and a carpet shampoo and water extractor, the carpet and the pad are still wet. I would love to get the same carpet as i had. They do not have it on the Abbey carpet site anymore...HERE IS THE CARPET THAT WE HAD.
- If its not on the Abbey site there are only 2 reasons for this.. The carpet is no longer made and discontinued or who ever you bought the carpet from has private labeled the carpet so no one shopping for an Abbey carpet ( or any thing else in their store) won t be able to cross shop and price compare. Big box stores are know to do this and some mom and pop stores. I never did. Now a suggestion.. Pull up the carpet and the pad. The pad is probably ruined. The carpet is more often than now salvageable if you can get it to dry. Or get a professional carpet cleaner in to vac out the carpet. they may be able to pull out enough water and along w/ fans and a dehumidifier, you may be able to save it. Most home owners policy's cover flood damage, its worth a call. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: Okay, I have to do chores and I completely forgot what is a rug! I am a dumb blond..
- A rug is a shape of cut-out carpet with a backing that can be lifted up to vacuum beneath it or to hide stuff under it. A carpet covers the expanse of a room or house and is quite stuck to the floor because it is the floor. If you can lift it up to hide stuff under it then you ruined your carpet. You can have a rug on top of carpet.
- Q: There's carpet in the house. What's the pest?
- When storing carpets, sprinkle some sanitary balls evenly on the carpet, then wrap them tightly and place them in the air. The best place is half a meter to the height of the ground.
- Q: When I first moved into my apartment it reeked like cat urine and the carpets where filthy. I shampooed the carpets using a water and laundry detergent but the carpet still looks bad. I have read about using vinegar and I tried it on one spot but I dont know that I used the right amount because it didnt seem to work. Does anyone have a recipe that will work on very, very, very dirty carpet????

- Q: without steam cleaning the carpet how do I remove dried on stains from rugs carpets?
- I agree that a steam cleaning is the best bet, but you may also be able to blot some stains. Use a Oxi-Clean to soak the area, then immediately blot. Do it again and blot again. Do it one last time and leave a pile of folded rags or a towel on the spot then put something waterproof and heavy on the towel overnight. The rags/towel will soak up the water and hopefully the worst of the stain will be gone. I've also found Spot Shot, available in some grocery stores, to be a great carpet stain remover. Good luck!
- Q: What material of the domestic carpet is better?
- Blended carpet, suede ground mat, chemical fiber carpet, silk carpet, chenille carpet, pure wool carpet ,
