3) What is the difference of Wilton Carpet and Axminster carpet
Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.
- Q: Hi yahoo answers how water is needed for carpet cleaning...I need the clear concept...
- Just regular hot tap water. Make sure that rug is sucked several times with vac to make sure carpets can dry. Make sure rooms are well vented to prevent molding and dry rot. Do not place any furniture on carpet tell it is dry. Make sure if you use a spot gard on carpet you get it all out the best you can for the chemicals can break down the carpet threads, fibers, and backing. To much soaking of carpet will cause the padding underneath to get wet and that takes forever to get dry so use caution. Go slow like directions saw, but don't soak. GL!!!
- Q: I found a bath rug that is the perfect color for my kitchen but I don't know if it matters that it is a bath rug or not. What is the difference? And would it matter if it was in the kitchen?
- The only tme it matters is IF the backing to the rug is latex AND it is going over a vinyl flooring that is light colored. Latex backing will turn the vinyl yellow over time and for some reason, it tends to happen more in the kitchen then in the bathroom. I had a latex backed rug in the bathroom for 10 years, but picked it up and hung it to dry after the last shower of the day. I had the same rug in the kitchen which I picked up and washed whenever it needed it, but it was on the floor continuously for most of the time. The same vinyl was in the kitchen that was in the bathroom and the kitchen vinyl yellowed while the bathroom did not. And, it also happened to several of my renters as well. One of my genuis tenants used a carpet pad underneath the one in the kitchen, she lived there for 6 years and that prevented it from happening to her...
- Q: My house is 5 years old. The carpet looks like it is 15 years old (cheap builders carpet). I have 2 dogs (both about 50lbs) and a cat. We are trying for our first child. Would you reccommend the hardwood laminate flooring or a better quality carpet?
- Hard one to call. We had all carpeting until the little one got old enough so that she wasn't falling down all the time. Then I ripped it out and put down laminate in the bedrooms and tile in the living room. I like the idea of laminate over carpet, but be vigilant with the kid ; spills that are not discovered and picked up right away can ruin laminate.
- Q: I am about to get a foal and a light horses. Which blankets/rugs do each of them need and why?
- it depends on which country you are from.rugs are the english name for american blankets.kind of like the differance between a girth and a cinch they both do the same thing.in america it would be easier to find horse blankets than rugs but in reality if you live in a really cold climate you can get blankets to keep your horse and foal warm on the really bad days.but otherwise horses need shelter from the wind and rain and snow if they have these they will be fine.horses will grow a winter coat which will keep them warm in winter.make sure you feed them sweet feed or other feed that will keep their energy level up or make themhot for winter.my horses are pastured but have unlimited use of the barn stalls and other run in sheds around the pastureto shelter them from the weather.i am not too keen on blanketing horses unless i can keep watch on them all the time.buckles can get caught on things or cut the horses blankets get torn and under hoof.horses survived the ice age and millions of years without blankets and rugs by using natural shelters. edit; i live on the high plains in colorado where it doesnt snow it snows sideways and drifts and my horses have had no problems in winter
- Q: My lil' sister had a sleep over in our living room the other night and her and her friends got chewing gum walked into the carpet in about 5 places.. It's an old carpet but that's not the point really, its dried solid hows best to remove it?
- Try gasoline
- Q: Can a carpet store take carpet out of some one home and sell it to some one els and put it in there home? No this is not a joke!
- In the US--Usually, the carpet they remove when they replace it with the new carpet is discarded. If the owner of the home didn't care to keep it, the carpet store could take it with them. They could resell it and install it somewhere else if they found a buyer. But if they are selling it as new, and it is not, they could be sued for fraud. Some states may have specific health and safety laws prohibiting them from reselling the carpet, but I don't know of any.
- Q: what is the best product to clean rugs?
- For spot cleaning I use spray Resolve. It works great! I spray it on the stains and rub it with a dry rag and the stain is gone! When I shampoo my house rugs I use Bissell Rug Cleaner in my Rug Shampoo Machine. I also use this Bissell Rug Cleaner on my car matts. I just mix it with water and I use a scrub brush~~in my deep sink, NOT MY CAR, lol You can do it in your bathtub too, I would guess.
- Q: What rugs do I need to get for my horse? Like what makes and how much?
- How okorder /
- Q: He is 9 months old and He is not allowed in my room. When I accidentally leave the door open to go cook etc, within 2 min. he runs in and pees right on the rug by my bed.It is infuriating! He is allowed everywhere else in my house, just not in my bedroom. Can anyone tell me why he does this and how I can deter him? I have tried verbal correction, removing him quickly from my room, putting him outside, even rubbing his nose in it. Nothing...someone help!
- When you say the rug by your bed, do you mean a throw rug type thing or actual carpet? If it's a throw rug and can be throw in the washer, then was it and add 1 cup of white vinegar to your final rinse. (the smell dissapates!). If it's carpet, scrub it as good as possible and then using 1 cup white vinegar to a bucket of water, wash over the area again, to get rid of all the urine smell. (Anytime a dog can smell where he/she peed before, they will return to it and use that spot again). Rubbing the dogs nose in the spot doesn't help! They know that spot is already there, without you doing that; and it serves no purpose. If you have a gate to put across the door, then I would use that, if the behavior continues just out of habit. And, by the way, as someone else wrote it's a known trait for Shih Tzu's to pee in the house, this is absolutely not true! I know several people with Shih Tzu's and I have one myself, and none of them urinate in the house once they are housetrained! I don't believe you can point a finger at any certain breed of dog and say that is a trait of there's. It is either because the dog was not entirely housetrained, or because something happened to make them start to urinate again, such as another dog laid there; or actually urinated in that spot, and then your dog is peeing there also, to mark his or her territory. Another thing, has your dog been neutered? If not, that might help the problem also, esp. if another dog has been in your house recently and he can smell that. I hope this helps you with your problem, and you and your fur baby get to enjoy many happy and healthy years ahead.
- Q: spill candle wax on my carpet and wont come off...
- Be careful and this might just get most of it up: Take several paper towels and put them over the wax. Now rub a very warm but not supper hot clothing iron over the paper towels. This will warm the wax while it is being absorbed into the towel. Repeat with clean paper towels until you are satisfied that you have removed all you can.
