Q: Hi everyone,I attempted to build my first PC; purchased the hardware, software, etc. Everything is assembled perfectly. After installing the motherboard, power supply and the respective cards, I connect the power cable.Upon connecting the power cable, the PC turns on and the only way to turn it off is to remove the power cable (from the back of the PSU). The PC boots up as if I pressed the power button!!I've read that this problem could be the power supply or the capacitors on the board??I'd be appreciative for any advice,Thanks,p
Hmm that sounds like you have missplaced the cables to the motherboard from the front pannel (on switch, HDD led etc.) Kenny
Q: I purchased a LCD TV the other day and ran a cable line to it (via crawl space). I had to use a splitter to connect the new TV. I connected the cable directly to the TV and then the power cable to the outlet which “popped” and the power went out (breaker trips). I connect the TV power cable to a surge protector and the power goes out again (surge protector wasn’t even on). So I disconnect the cable from the tv and connect the power. Everything is fine until I try and connect the cable...let’s just say the spark was bright and hot enough to melt part of the connector on the TV! So I return the TV and get a different brand and the same thing happens when I plug it into a surge protector. To begin narrowing out possible problems I connect the cable to a regular 10 year old TV with no problems. It is a brand new cable with no cuts or fraying. Any suggestions?
Something is seriously wrong, and you may need to get an electrician on the problem. You need to check the voltage between your set and the cable with a meter. There should be little or no measurable voltage. If you are getting a reading like 115 volts, then I suspect that the wall outlet into which your TV is plugged has been wired backwards, i.e. the black wire is on the white terminal, and vice-versa. The cable is (or should be) grounded where it comes into the house, but if the outlet has the hot wire on the wrong side, this might cause the problem you described. The wrong connection could have occurred anywhere along the line between your main panel and the outlet, so this may involve checking the connections at several outlets and light fixtures - whatever is on the same circuit as your TV's outlet.
Q: so I bought a new power supply to go with my new case and motherboard, and when I recived the new power supply it didn't have a power cable That Plugs into the wall, can I use the one from my old power supply or will I have to get a new one? Cause I tried using it and my pc didn't turn on, or is my power supply that I got possibly dead?
every power supply I've gotten for years uses completely standard, detachable power cords. I've never yet seen one that will not use the same cords as all the others. Use the one from the old supply
Q: I am doing a test if the power supply. Can you have the computer on and plugged in with PSU out in the open, leave on the carpet ?Can you have the power cable plugged into the psu first and then try to plug in the psu cable into the mother board. Would this electrocute you? if you accidentally knocked over liquid onto the power supply while the computer is running and you touched the motherboard at the same time while you are perfectly grounded. Can this electrocute you? unpluging the psu connector while the computer is on?
If you have already pulled the fan off, do so again (without reaching into the power supply. Take a good look at the shaft of the fan. I'll wager there either is, or was, a set screw in that shaft. Most likely you'll need a hex wrench to get that locked back into place. This would also explain the lack of air flow when it is working without making a racket. Good luck. Best regards, Jim
Q: Ok, my pc and monitor have the same socket for a power cable, and i mixed the two cables up, but one has a 5 amp fuse and one has a 10 amp fuse... What one goes where??
put the ten amp on monitor, but doesn't matter either way is fine.
Q: Forced shut down pc now it has no power just a buzzing sound when the power cable is plugged in
Time to replace the power supply.
Q: Whether high voltage cables can be built in belt corridors
Electric workers in the wood when the wood bar, buried in the soil that part of the first use of fire char, and then brush into the ground after the bitumen
Q: there are two cables one thats blue and one thats black what are they called?
One is the power supply cable (Black one) and since its blue the second one would be a VGA cable. Hope this helps.
Q: There is no load in the middle of the problem added: the laying of the laying, and now the longest cable can do more long
Set-top box on the TV next to a method is to use the network cable connected to the computer, another method is in the set-top box next to a wireless router, the computer can not be used to use the network, if there is no dark Set the network cable, you can also use the power network adapter to the network set-top box out of the network cable connected to the power adapter, through the power line to connect the computer Internet. As long as enough 4M, regardless of rural or urban are the same, I now use the 4M broadband, basically not card.
Q: Is it? I leave the power cable for hours when at home, when letting it process video and such and sometimes drain the battery when not used much. Thanks for any help.
When I first bought my laptop I tried to research this. Keep the battery in and keep the ac adapter hooked up. Use the ac adapter and take the battery out. Just charge with the ac adapter and run off the battery when fully charged. Everybody had an opinion on what to do. The confusing thing is that they all made sense. So I decided to stop driving myself nuts. I leave the battery in. The ac adapter is always hooked up. I leave my laptop on pretty much 24/7 and have done so for over a year now. Once a month as part of my maintenance I unplug the ac adapter and let the battery run down till the warning pops up. Plug it back in and do the same next month. I keep track of how long the battery lasts without the ac adapter on. It always charges back to 100% and if the life is decreasing it is so minimal that I am not noticing. Is this right or wrong? Depends on who you ask. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
