This is just a standard ethernet cable with 2 of the wires crossed over to send/receive between the machines. Windows will see the device in different ways depending on what you select. When I choose mass storage mode, it pops up as a removable drive, and I can copy photos music also. If I select data modem mode, I have to install compeletely different drivers because now it thinks my phone is an external modem to dial up to the internet. If you're getting an error at this point, first is this want you want to do? dial up to the internet? if not, don't worry about it and use mass storage mode. If it is, you'll have to find the right nokia drivers for your OS, (XP, Vista, 32bit or 64bit maybe). There may also be additional charges for phone as modem use.
