- You can get off the ground going 30 mph going over a hill. If you want a flying car, you will need to change that wheel horsepower into thrust with a lifting body and flight controls.
- Q: i want to add some lift to my geo tracker, but i dont have $1000 to get the kit i want. can i use parts from another vehicle, maybe a jeep cherokee or similar, like the struts and coil springs, just to add a little more clearance?does anyone know what can be interchanged into a 97 tracker 4dr 4wd?

- Q: I was watching the fast and the furious and then fast five. I saw that the 70s charger and the 2000s charger's front end just picked up off the ground with the reer wheels going. I know muscle cars have reer wheel drive but I don't get how the front end gets picked up. What makes the front end of a rear wheel drive car go up?
- It's the mechanics of the suspension. Under hard acceleration the tires spin pushes the leading edge of the tires down into the pavement. For every action, there is an equal & opposite re-action, so the axle housing is pushed up. If there's enough torque & traction, the rear end will pull the entire front of the car up. Every rear drive car will do that to some extent.
- Q: Hi, my car was towed today from a parallel parked spot. It‘s a manual transmission with anti-theft alarm. When I got my car, I checked for damage, no visible damage. However, I was curious, my car was parked in 1st gear, but when I got it back, it was in neutral. Did the tow guy get into my car to put it into neutral? or did he have a tool to pop the shifter to neutral from the outside? I have anti-theft alarm, how did he break in so easily? I forgot to check if the doors were locked, when I got it back. Please enlighten me how he did it. Thanks
- He could have moved the shifter from underneath the car after he jacked it up.
- Q: I have a work colleague who lives not to far from me. They used to catch public transport to and from work before i joined the company. They asked me to give them a lift home after work, and now it has become the norm. Whilst this person seems ok, they have had the nerve to ask me to pick them up on the way in (which i refused), also they now expect that i will take them home all the time. They even have the nerve to have a go at me when they had thought i left without them. They do not give me petrol money (not that i would ask), or even offered over the last few months. They also wait around after work on purpose when i stay late. What would u do in my situation? I don‘t mind this person, but do believe they are taking advantage of a free ride!!
- I don't see a problem. I offer lifts to my colleague at work on days I drive in. Of course you're not obliged to take anyone home, but it seems like a nice thing to do. However, since this issue really seems to bother you - just tell this person that you don't wish them to accompany you on your ride home. If the person has a go at you, tell them you're not obliged to provide them transport. I don't even see how petrol money (or the offer of it) is an issue. You were going to work and returning anyway and you were going to drive in anyway.
- Q: What is this called? picture included, it picks up the car so you can align it or change oil?
- that is a 4 post lift
- Q: give parts name.
- The answer to your question is not simple, you asked a broad question. Depending on what you plan on lifting, ATV's, cars, trucks, or tractor trailers this will determine what you need to lift it. If you are planning on lifting cars, then you will need two hydraulic pistons rated at, at least 1.5 - 2 tons. You would make a simpler scissor lift. But to make a traditional lift, you will need very large (tall) hydrualic pistons have approximately a 5-6' range to lift the car up enough. Also, you will need hydraulic pumps and fluid that can support the kind of load needed for these pistons. Then you will need to make a housing to encase this all in and you will need to make a lift arm mechanism. This will need to be very strong, high carbon steel since it will act as a cantilever beam. 4 arms need to be made that swivel out to support the car. I've listed a couple sites below that show them, the scissor lift would be easier to make but not as useful since the car's tires actually ride on them and usually to do any kind of maintenance, the tires need to be removed for doing the brakes, struts etc. You can buy a whole lift kit for only $1375.00. You might want to think about just buying one instead of making one.
- Q: two post car hoist/lift usually they lift to around 6foot 6 inch or two metres are there ones that lift higher
- there are ones that lift higher then 6'6 some are able to be adjusted when they are first set up contact your dealer for more information
- Q: I was just wondering if when driving a car and you leave the clutch pedal paused at around 6 or 7/8ths up. can it wear the clutch out for the other 1/8th? it‘s just my clutch has a little play at the very top now i‘m not sure if it‘s always there and it‘s just a coincidence or if I have done it by not fully lifting the clutch up after about 5-10 seconds when in low gears and finding the revs.
- clutch pedal needs 1/2 to 3/4 of inch of freeplay at top so don,t ride on throeout berring
- Q: Okay so I am really unsure of how it happened, but somehow I drove over a curb when I was leaving a parking lot and hit the bottom of my car, super hard. My car is now making a really funny noise when I drive and I‘m really scared, nothing like this has ever happened to me! I know nothing about cars, so does any know what I might have done to it, and how much it might coast to fix?
