- Q: When I look at my car the passenger side is a little lower then the driver side. If I buy new shocks will that bring it up a little bit? Please help with some options if you know. Thanks very much.
- Shocks don't provide lift - springs do. If you want lift, you either need taller springs, a lift kit or pneumatic shocks (load levelers).
- Q: Chitown Customs charge $1200 for the lift kit. Is there any place in Illinois or Indiana that can by far beat that price?

- New okorder ... and tell them to direct in the right direction. If you just do the strut spacers, then probably around $30-$50 if you do it yourself. Also, ball joint spacers may be needed. Honestly, I don't know poop or care about a Chevy Venture. But, whatever floats your boat. Why are you doing this anyway?

- Q: Can anyone please tell me how to lift this damn car properly? I just bought a craftsman jack and I‘m already angry because the car is so low that the jack doesn‘t fit underneath. Now I have to use the crappy scissors jack that came with the car. When i lift the car im having trouble placing the jack stands because the front driverside lift point is right in front of the area thats recommended to placing jack stands on. Please someone give me some advice because this days going all wrong.
- scissor jacks are not that crappy when you got to change a flat tire. Place the jack stands near the tire on the suspension s for me. Or start again and drive the car up onto 2 2x6 blocks (like a mini ramp) which raises the car another 3 and the craftsman jack will fit under it. That is why you are suppose to have a floor hoist or a pit so you can work on the car from the underside.
- Q: I understand basically that lifting it with a crank or hydraulic lift (usually equipped with most vehicles) is enough for changing a flat tire, but if I need to slide up under it,.what‘s the SAFEST method for getting underneath to do minor work on suspension? Need some advice here before I go and hurt myself. Thanks
- NEVER WORK UNDER A CAR WHEN JUST RESTING ON THE JACK! That is a very good safety rule. Car ramps or car stands (jack stands), are best for when working under a vehicle at home, better still would be a pit or a hoist, but you're unlikely to have access to those. The ramps will elevate the car, either front or rear, but not both at the same time. The stands can be used to get all four wheels off the ground but then you will need four of them. For the ramps, you just drive your vehicle onto them. For the stands you jack up the car, put the stands in place, then remove the jack, making sure the stands are taking the weight on the chassis.
